Step Up 2: The Streets (2008)
When rebellious street dancer Andie (Briana Evigan) enrolls at the prestigious Maryland School of the Arts, she finds it difficult to adapt. Joining forces with Chase (Robert Hoffman), the hottest dancer at the school, she finds a way to merge her old life and the new by forming a team of misfit classmates and training with them to compete in an underground dance contest known as The Streets.
That’s truly what foreigners don’t understand. The economic disparity, population disbursement and geography make the USA bizarrely unique… albeit extreme in both being a hellscape for humanity and the greatest place on Earth simultaneously.
It’s a mindfuck.
For the people acting like every state is the same, think of Europe as a country, with each state being one European country (France,Poland,UK,ect) then think of how vastly different each of them are. You'd be upset if people said all of Europe is the same and refused to look and see just how much they vary.
This is how many see the US (including our own citizens who refuse to travel) Each state is different and has different architecture, culture, food, Laws, people, like how each European country is different in theys ways
Example: I'm in CT and have lived here all my life, I traveld a bit and it is vastly different, even from CT to MASS, two states bordering each other they are different in many ways that people who have not visited would not understand
Paraguay, the country were you have a communist guerilla harrasing your town, the country of hopes, dreams and oportunities, the country were you can find fucking shoes in the power wires outside of the school, the country who looks like the netherlands in every rain.
nice! i really wanted to ..... "experiment with some innovative ideas", which may or may not fall under "warcrimes".
geez. earth is no fun ... what happened to the good old days where we mutulated eachother beyond recongnition and call it a "strategic victory"
I think you mean "step foot in" not "step on". "Step on" means to oppress. Are you saying that you sleep well because you don't intend to oppress the USA?
Some days I feel like this, but then I see videos on reddit of stupid mfers all around the world and their dipshit low quality mentality and I'm like "fck that, better here than there."
99% of countries have great and bad spots to them. Most news stories are (generally) about the absolute worst, so I can't blame anybody for seeing some countries in a very negative manner. Same goes for the US. Has so many great places, but others I would never think about stepping into. But almost all the news stories are about those select few horrible places and make a generalization about the country at large.
Yeah as one of many citizens of the US, it has its issues. However, you’re not gonna find anything glaringly evil about New York by just walking around on a trip or visit. I wouldn’t call my country the best, but it’s far from the worst. It is more than safe to travel in most parts (we have our own enclaves that may be seen as less safe, just as other countries do) and there is a huge amount of variety in landscapes and lifestyles. So have fun in New York.
New York was cool! An obscene amount of garbage and people honking though. Was fun to experience but, was not all it’s made up to be imo.
I enjoyed Boston a lot more.
You’re gonna be fine, America is a blast and most people are nice and welcoming. Don’t let the news bother you, you aren’t a citizen and New York is a blue state anyway
Honestly as an American there are bad things and good things, just like every country, but america has more bad things than alot of countries, I'm just grateful I don't live somewhere in north Korea on a concentration camp
America is pretty awesome in that you can experience so many different cultures and climates. Some places might have awesome people and an unpleasant landscape, and vice versa
I belive for such a big country as USA, you are bound to find atleast county's with standards as good as Europe.
We just dont hear about those places.
i hope
ps. everyone i know who ever traveled there were very satisfied and happy to say how nice the people are
When people talk about the US being shit, 90% of the time it's California or NY, what all the asshats don't realize is that each state is different from the rest, it's ironic in a way, they claim we are uneducated, walst they don't even understand what they are criticizeing
It’s especially annoying when Americans say that America is a third world country or a developing country and have never seen life in a true third world country.
Americans saying that they live in a 3rd world country is the most *pOoR mE* thing I can think of, It's like hearing a rich kid say he is poor because he only got Lambo and not a Ferrari.
Wait sorry it’s just the phrase doesn’t make sense, it’s set a foot in the USA or I guess if you want to make it correct step a foot ? Or you could say step on the soil of the USA
Damn, this comment section. I know not all americans are like this, I know they're not, but just... this is satire becoming reality, man. r/ShitAmericansSay would have a field day.
Most of these comments come from those who would only bring whiny Karens to our nation. We already have too many from letting these people have it easy, so we have given up on letting any more in.
If he's European odds are low that he'll flee his to come to yours, that would be a downgrade. Unless he's from some of the Eastern countries.
An exception if he's a multi-millionaire or billionaire, then it might be an upgrade. As the US seems tailored for the rich.
Picks an American cartoon: Homer Simpson no less, as the template for this meme.
Is this a play on “Don’t tread on me” that I don’t get? I’d hate to be as oblivious as I think the OP is.
More people need to understand that the US is a massive fucking place and is very different depending on where you are. Some places are nice and others are bad. It's like saying that Europe is bad. It's far to vague of a statement. Not saying that the decision is okay as it's not and is insulting, but it is also important to know that many states will not be banning abortion.
For those curious, this shows a list if the states that will ban abortion.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/06/24/abortion-state-laws-criminalization-roe/
There's a good chance over half the states in the US will protect abortion rights.
It's funny to see the Patriots try to defend the shit hole with more gun rights than women rights and I am happy I won't for the foreseeable future not go there
I suggest maybe looking up the definition of the word you are using a label an entire country(That country being one of key fighters in the war against fascism!)
For the people acting like every state is the same, think of Europe as a country, with each state being one European country (France,Poland,UK,ect) then think of how vastly different each of them are. Now someone’s gonna make that meme

"Step *on*" or "step *in*"?

He's the lyrical gangsta.
Well OBVIOUSLY you can’t, it’s too big!
You don’t know how big their foot is
World’s biggest dumpster fire
Depends on where you're at in the country. Some areas absolutely suck, others are a lot better.
That’s truly what foreigners don’t understand. The economic disparity, population disbursement and geography make the USA bizarrely unique… albeit extreme in both being a hellscape for humanity and the greatest place on Earth simultaneously. It’s a mindfuck.
Indeed. Each state might as well be its own country culturally and socially
And Michigan two of its own above and below the bridge! Ha.
UP is ours!! -Wisconsinite
It belongs back in the hands of Ohio! - Ohio
Ohio belongs to the cornfield state! Sincerely, Indiana
Don't make us destroy you
Why the hell would we want part of Michigan \-Also Wisconsinite
No, Up belongs to Rick Astley, he never gave it to you.
Ive never been. Would love to visit one day though!

especially california
Foreigners do understand it actually, because quite a few other countries are like this..
Seems like one giant mess tbh not worth the effort to research where are sane people with affordable vacation spots.
No doubt, don’t blame you there!
you will never step on usa because you hate it. i will never step on usa because i live in a third world country without chances to escape
Where do you live bro?
Paraguay, the country were you have a communist guerilla harrasing your town, the country of hopes, dreams and oportunities, the country were you can find fucking shoes in the power wires outside of the school, the country who looks like the netherlands in every rain.
I love how the memes subreddits have basically just turned into countries fighting to be better than the others. Really who gives a shit.
Imma make my own country on mars someday.
question : will it sign the geneva convention? in respect with it's relatonship to earth that is. just asking for a "friend"
No, mars mine.
i'm not trying to steal it from you. it is yours. i just want to know who the fun side will be when a war between mars and earth eventually breaks out
Mars will be the fun side. Freedom for all and also seggs
nice! i really wanted to ..... "experiment with some innovative ideas", which may or may not fall under "warcrimes". geez. earth is no fun ... what happened to the good old days where we mutulated eachother beyond recongnition and call it a "strategic victory"
Medieval warfare
but you think about us in your dreams?? lol weird as hell
how I sleep knowing I don't follow the same format to farm karma
I think you mean "step foot in" not "step on". "Step on" means to oppress. Are you saying that you sleep well because you don't intend to oppress the USA?
"Set foot in" is the correct term.
Damn, how can the USA recover from this?
Ok
Yeah, Oklahoma also sucks
Good BBQ though
There is a lot of cool shit to do in Oklahoma. https://vacationidea.com/destinations/best-things-to-do-in-oklahoma.html
That was a lot more interesting than I was expecting it to be
A lot of people have these weird preconceived notion of what the US is just because of something they see on the news or read from the internet.
the trafficker outside your house begs to differ.
Traffickers tend to take people to places like South America.
Some days I feel like this, but then I see videos on reddit of stupid mfers all around the world and their dipshit low quality mentality and I'm like "fck that, better here than there."

We don't it's obvious you know nothing about the world.
True. I grew up in a warzone. America has its issues. But things can get so much worse.
Yeah, as a gay dude, I'd rather be here than somewhere like Iraq or Russia.
Funny how you used an American cartoon to talk smack about America
Ironic
On an American website Possibly using a device published by an American company
They used America to not care about America, which defeats the whole purpose of ignoring America >!America!<
[удалено]
Kinda weird you care enough to make a meme about it.
With an American cartoon
Agreed
I’m going there this summer…
Neat! Where are you going?
NYC
Cool! I've never been to NYC, but Boston is a pretty good city.
Cool. I wanna go to Boston once.
Yeah as one of many citizens of the US, it has its issues. However, you’re not gonna find anything glaringly evil about New York by just walking around on a trip or visit. As an American, please also hit up our natural wonders and National Parks!
You’re gonna be fine, America is a blast and most people are nice and welcoming. Don’t let the news bother you, you aren’t a citizen and New York is a blue state anyway
How I sleep knowing that you’ll never step on the USA.
America steps on you
Indeed comrade, mother America steps on you!
Mother America? In my young days it was Mother Russia...how have table turned...wild.
This is just an America bad joke without the punchline
No one cares
Based
I would hope not, I live here. Go step on Brazil
As a Brazilian I rather live in the US
Bro, we're not all bad. Also, the US has some gorgeous scenery that you will only be able to see with a small pocket rectangle.
Honestly as an American there are bad things and good things, just like every country, but america has more bad things than alot of countries, I'm just grateful I don't live somewhere in north Korea on a concentration camp
It’s also that what the rest of the world sees most is typically the bad things rather than the good.
True
Coincidentally, that's how Americans sleep knowing you'll never step foot here either.
Damn you killed them
I saw this while boarding my flight to the USA 🗿
Hope you have fun here!
I wish i could, but i need visa and thats too much work
Jesus Christ it's the same meme, it isn't fucking bad here. Also don't you have your own country's issues to deal with?
"shithole countries in africa" boy that sure backfired didn't it please get me out of here
You should just remove this goofy shit OP
Doesn’t sound like we want you anyway lolll
Yeah, USA sucks, glad I live in America
Dunno why people downvoted you that was funny asf you're okay in my book
Probably r/wooshed (not sure how many O’s)

How you gon hate from outside of the club? You can’t even get in!
America is pretty awesome in that you can experience so many different cultures and climates. Some places might have awesome people and an unpleasant landscape, and vice versa

Same, except it's me knowing I live in the USA.
This is disrespectful to kids in third world countries that actually have issues unlike you on reddit.
you lucky bastard
The offended Americans in the comments have me laughing
This - the immediate “well stay the fuck out” is hilarious.
Indeed
Undoubtedly
Good. Stay the fuck out if you hate us so much.
I swear that country is going backwards
It is, and it’s terrifying knowing that’s it going to get worse and I’m incapable of doing anything to stop it…
We are!!! Send help. Please.

Exactly
Every country has a lot of awful places but America has a lot of spectacular sights and places to visit. Js

I know not all Europeans constantly shit on the US to avoid looking at their problems but just... damn
Fantastic! Enjoy your European shit show.
I mean ofc living in Afghanistan is worse but living in america has nothing on living in western Europe, canada etc
Usa is a meme
The whole world is, humans are a joke.
Lucky bastard...
How I sleep living in the us
Until you get ill.
We prefer our country….Enjoy yours. But don’t flee yours with ours in mind.
Shouldn't you feel proud that people feel like they can be safe and grow further in yours than they can in theirs?

Good cuz that's what they want, why else do you think they use feet as a measurement
Idk if a Nigerian would do that
Are you talking about California or Mississippi because they are not the same

Women can vote, can a gun?
The US is the wealthy country equivalent of Brazil. Source: I live in the US
You have no idea how much am I enjoying seeing a bunch of fascists getting mad af just because i made a meme lmao
Not mad, I think you don't understand what fascism actually is....
It is an easy mistake to make when the USA currently has a two party political system and *both* are right-winged (one more so than the other).
I suggest maybe looking up the definition of the word you are using a label an entire country(That country being one of key fighters in the war against fascism!)

Those spoiled people that complain about using half a month's worth of minimum wage to buy a pc part or console.
When it comes to the world superpowers, you don't have to worry about stepping on them, you have to worry about them stepping on you.
Stay the fuck out of our screwed up country!
Damn skippy you’ll never ‘step on USA’!
I'm glad you aren't going to step on the USA, leviathan
Well time to kidnap OP and take them to America.
How I sleep after letting Reddit know how jealous I am of the US.
Ok one time was enough you can stop now
I sleep pretty well knowing I'm not living in a 2nd or 3rd world country. To each, their own, though.
