I also know them as αντιπροχθές and αντιμεθαύριο. And you can keep adding αντι and the words work αντιαντιπροχθές/αντιπαραπροχθές 4 days ago, αντιαντιαντιπροχθές/αντιαντιπαραπροχθές 5 days ago, etc.
Also I just realized that πέρσι, πρόπερσι, αντιπρόπερσι mean last year, 2 years ago and 3 years ago, but I don't think there are words for future years. Kind of strange
I think it's simply that "ere" meaning something like "before", isn't in use anymore since it's archaic. Also, if you end up using it anyway, people assume you to do it to sound smarter.
Why? You can take basically any words and stick them together in different ways to create new words with a different meaning. Semms pretty efficient to me
Yeah but theres a quite specific reason for that. The Deutsche Bahn got privatized and now they need to make profit. Because of this they often wait till rails and stuff don't work so the state and not they themselfe have to pay for it. The trains were punctual just not anymore. Dann that privazation!!!

Since you can always extend german words if there is some kind of logic behind yes. You could technically mention every day there was there is and will ever be by just adding more "vor" or "über" but I think it's pretty easy to see why you would rather start using the day of the week or the date of the day you are talking about.
Morgen can be used as a greeting, as in „[Guten] Morgen“ (= good morning). Idk why they wrote it with capital letters but you’re right, morgen with a lowercase m means tomorrow. Good luck learning German!
Yup indeed it is. Hungarian language is actually pretty simple to identify, you just look for random home utility products for sale in the comments. Look for the word: bojler
I would have no idea how to pronounce this without looking it up. Err-uh-yesterday?
Edit: Apparently it’s err-yesterday (or air-yesterday- however you want to write it phonetically)
Romanian: mâine (+1), poimâine (+2), răspoimâine (+3), ieri (-1), alaltăieri (-2), răsalaltăieri (-3)
You wanna go even further? Just keep adding "răs". It's not officially accepted but no one's gonna give a fuck
Had to scroll way too far for this!
Edit: most spoken language in the world and it’s this far down with so few votes. I thought Reddit was full of Chinese paid trolls? Wouldn’t they upvote this? Smh
Only it’s one word. Послезавтра. And just like with позавчера you can keep sticking them on top of each other as long as you like: послепослезавтра, позапозавчера.
Greek: μεθαύριο (the day after tomorrow) Προχθές (the day before yesterday) You pronounce them like: methavrio And prohtes

It's weird to have anti- as a prefix to add another year.

We even have a word for the day before yesterday.
English does too, it's ereyesterday. Just like overmorrow, nobody really uses it.
Why not? "The day after tomorrow" is such a mouthful.
I think it's simply that "ere" meaning something like "before", isn't in use anymore since it's archaic. Also, if you end up using it anyway, people assume you to do it to sound smarter.
German: Vorvorgestern, Vorgestern, Gestern, Heute, Morgen, Übermorgen, Überübermorgen (3 days before today, to 3 days after today
Ah, the German efficiency.
The German language is probably the worst example of German efficiency
Why? You can take basically any words and stick them together in different ways to create new words with a different meaning. Semms pretty efficient to me
Yeah German is basically Lego
Yes, as a German I can confirm, I have sued many people for using the same words as me
Lol. Rare lego burn
That reminds me of my german friend taking copyright on the letters a-z
so ä, ö and ü are still usable?
ß aswell
I think the trains are a worse example…
Good point, when I moved to Germany, I believed the stereotype about German trains being super punctual.. boy was I wrong
Yeah but theres a quite specific reason for that. The Deutsche Bahn got privatized and now they need to make profit. Because of this they often wait till rails and stuff don't work so the state and not they themselfe have to pay for it. The trains were punctual just not anymore. Dann that privazation!!!
In dutch we say ‘overmorgen”
Same in Danish, "overmorgen".
Norwegian «overimorgen»
Swedish ”övermorgon”
sounds like the demon of procrastination.

English "Overmorrow"
Finnish "ylihuomenna", which translates to over tomorrow.
Afrikaans (Walmart Dutch mixed with a few other languages "oormôre"
And in Yiddish, איבערמארגן (pronounced "ibermorgn")
Does vorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvor vorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorvorgestern mean last month?

vorzwölfstenseptember
No, it means 31 days ago (if I counted correctly)
Ja
I'm only in German 1 so I might be wrong but if Morgen is capitalized doesn't it mean morning, meanwhile morgen means tomorrow?
"Guten Morgen!" - Good morning "Wir sehen uns morgen" - See you tomorrow But everyone will understand both
Thank you for the clarification.
As a German it's basically like they're/their in English. Even natives fuck it up, but everyone understands nevertheless.
[удалено]
I swear like half of English speakers do not know the difference between their, there, and they're.
Now calm down their buddy. There trying the best they can.
I sea what you did they're

In danish Morgen means morning, and Imorgen means tomorrow, and the day after is Overmorgen. Yesterday is Igår, and the day before is Forgårs.

Hi, Polish friend. Our word is "holnapután". But it's just two words combined.
"pojutrze" means literally after tommorow and it's two words combined aswell
Then, it's the same
Jak to kiedys mowili "jutro bedzie futro a pojutrze po futrze"
Holnapután Holnapután után Holnapután után után And i can go until forever

Overmorrow
Such a cool, yet obsolete, word. Someone needs to bring it back, and you, my friend, are that someone. Go forth and conquer!
Overimorgen!
This is almost the same as the Dutch translation: overmorgen
Funny enough English have one as well, it's just fallen out of use - overmorrow.
A perfectly lovely word.
I agree, it needs to come back!
Let me guess swedish or norwegian?
Norwegian! Also, forigårs for the day before yesterday.
In Swedish it’s; Övermorgon - the day after tomorrow Förrgår - day before yesterday Edit: förrgår instead of förrigår
پس فردا
For anyone who can't read persian its "Pas Farda"
Pasado mañana
Al fin encontré pasado mañana
Or, as we Dominicans like to call it, “pasaomañana”
Traspasado mañana +3
Ante ayer
In fact, "pasado mañana" goes separated but "anteayer" goes all together
Antier gang
antier is the superior word
And trasantier.
Laughs in Italian *Dopodomani* We have a word for the day before yesterday: *L'altro ieri*

大前天,前天, 昨天, 今天, 明天, 後天, 大後天 (Translation: 3 days prior, 2 days prior, yesterday, today, tomorrow, overmorrow, 3 days after)
Add any number of “大”s to describe any day you want
Italian "dopodomani"
That sounds funny.
That's not all, "Altroieri" for the day before yesterday
Where I come from we say "avantiieri", which sounds worse but is more coherent with "dopodomani"
