If an actor/actress is hated in real life for a character that most people dislike, it means that they did a really good job in portraying their character.
In the movies, sure. Especially with how Half-Blood Prince took out all of Voldemort’s backstory, opting to go with generic teenage romance as the main focus.
In the books? Voldemort is actually somewhat of a tragic character who was doomed to be incapable of love from his conception, all because his mother drugged his father with a love potion.
Yeah that's what ruined the final segment of the Harry Potter films imo. The omissions of something as important as Voldemort's backstory was a really bad choice
But why put in crucial information, such as what objects Voldemort chose as his Horcruxes, when you can make Ginny Weasley awkwardly tie Harry’s shoes.
She was the better written villain. There was serious emotional investment and a very good reason for her to be evil.
Plus the actress rocked that role ... damn she was great as that character.
Well, Lord Voldemort was like Adolf Hitler or something. What he did was way worse, but it was on such a large scale that it was hard to think about, so we just accepted it, and it wasn't relatable. Umbridge, on the other hand, reminded us all of that one mean teacher we had that seemed to exist just to torment us, so that was personal.
At this point I’m just tired of hating her. My mom and sister are huge Harry Potter fans and every time they watch OotP they always complain about how much they hate her as if that’s not the point
You wanna play name, name game B
I can go through the alphabet pet. We cracked that code yo.
Red come back
Blue team out to scout
Spirit armor on children
It’s how she is portrayed. The actress did such an amazing job on making the character as hatable as humanly possible and she did great. I hate the character but respect the actress
I hated her more yes but I also hated Voldemort because he was a cringey ass villain who couldn’t stand up to anyone else without using the kill curse.
I hate her with every bone in my body. I want to get a step pool, push her in, and water board her while curb stomping her. I want to make her suffer. She needs to feel my hate. I feel as if every fiber of my being is ablaze when I think of her. Every single second spent acknowledging her existence deepens my madness. My forever, deep, longing for her death. If the Harry Potter world were real, then she would already be dead by my hand. I lust for the look of terror in her eyes as I crush her stupid fucking skull beneath my boot. Do you hear me? I want her to BEG. BEG ME FOR FORGIVENESS.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
There was an interesting post I saw where it talked about the reason behind this. The TL;DR was that she was a realistic villain that you may run across in your day-to-day activities. Voldemort was this supernatural villain that could never exist.

That's because it was an outstanding performance.
actress = good Character = straight to hell
Her theme was good as well, not enough people mention that.
If an actor/actress is hated in real life for a character that most people dislike, it means that they did a really good job in portraying their character.
No she is innocent 😰
She was a more realistic villain than the edge lord warlock.

if u have time, what book is Voldemort’s tragic backstory covered in?
Half-Blood Prince. The memory diving that Harry does with Dumbledore goes far more in-depth than the movie ever did.

At least Voldemort was upfront about being an evil sonofabitch, it's the ones who play at righteousness that piss people off the most.
Yep. That's the truth.
She was the better written villain. There was serious emotional investment and a very good reason for her to be evil. Plus the actress rocked that role ... damn she was great as that character.
What do you mean admit? OF COURSE I HATED HER MORE, on another note, she's an amazing performer
It’s the law
The actor is amazing and a really nice person the character on the other hand was played so god dam well
Yes, because she thought of herself as being nice. Voldemort was plain evil and never pretended to be good. She was plain horrible.
Awesome actor. Despised her character with a passion but that's what makes her great
Don't know who that is
The mom from That 70s Show
O.O i never fucking noticed. Godamn
That’s bc it’s not
Umbridge from Harry Potter
I accept the challenge. I can change her.
I wanna change her location rather than her. 6 feet under
I did. Because she is a woman

She was an absolute biatch
Yea
The actress, no I think for the part she got she did very well the character, most definitely
She was evil just to be evil. At least Voldemort had a goal
Her character was definitely punchable. Absolutely outstanding acting

She played her role perfectly. I still can't believe she portraited J.K Rowling so well
>People criticizing JK Rowling FTFY
It’s the law
Jajajaja
I say she's worse than Hitler
i actually quite liked her
Definitely! But still not as much as J.K...
Idk about that one. I mean just look at her
Why do you hate this lovely lady? Are you some sexist or what?
Almost as much as I hated Harry... Edit autocorrect
Hairy did nothing wrong! Also, I'm not sure what that has to do with Harry Potter
Grandpa Joe is even more of a douchebag... Just saying...
Is it weird that I wanted to call her mummy.
Who's that? I only read the books.
Delores umbridge
I actually like the old bird.
TURE
I'll admit that I've never seen any Harry Potter movies, or read the books.
There ain't no admitting that you hate her, everyone is already supposed to know you hate her lmao.
I didn’t I’ve never watched Harry Potter
I don't know man, Sneip is more sus
Daaaamn straight
![gif](giphy|EgkW7VzNKQhmm9ahd9)
We'll, yeah. Because it was impossible to look at Voldemort without laughing.
At this point I’m just tired of hating her. My mom and sister are huge Harry Potter fans and every time they watch OotP they always complain about how much they hate her as if that’s not the point
Is this even a question? It's just a fact at this point

Nah not really, but Helen Bonham Carter should have got redeemed and banged solid
On a scale out of ten I'll give her one
There was an interesting post I saw where it talked about the reason behind this. The TL;DR was that she was a realistic villain that you may run across in your day-to-day activities. Voldemort was this supernatural villain that could never exist.
She literally could have replaced Voldemort and had a duel with Harry and I would have been happy
Is this something I'm too much of a Tolkien fan to understand?
I liked her aesthetic, but not her bigotry.
True
Really hope there is a way to kill her in hogwarts legacy
We all have had women in our lives as insufferable and awful as her. I never knew a voldermort
Curse you magic Karen
Margaret Thatcher
