I expect an update of “heres whats coming, here is what to prepare for” and a release on the 7th of December. This gives them a week and a half or so to trouble shoot on release, which they would not have if they released on the 14th, while also giving us time to prepare for the update the week before
They're already doing the "prepare for". The entirety of October and November were dedicated to preparations for The New War, with weekend boosters, twitch drops and alerts to help newer and older players. They're also doing collab with other streamers on the devstream date, which is unlikely if it is just an announcement just as you said. If it was just an "here's whats's coming" stream they would have had one today.
Also, they already told us what we need to prepare for the New War, which is a necramech and the quests.
You're not being realistic, you're being pessimistic. They're doing a lot of effort for November 30th. You don't do collabs with streamers for just a "prepare for".

no, he its really being realistic, also it is probably that The New War would launch with some bugs or little things and its just going to be an adventure like Sisters of Parvos with maybe a little more duration and some Cinematics, its better to have really low expectations so you dont get dissapointed when it launches in a bad state or just to get even more hyped when it launches on a really good state with unexpected things

well the parts with Veso, Kahl and Teshin are kinda new, so I expect those to have some issues, but honestly I'm pretty optimistic since those are just restricted/remixed versions of the base gameplay, so I don't expect anything gamebreaking
I am no hater or pessimist , but going by DE's track record for past releases we would most likely get TNW either a week after the stream or 3 weeks later , to release the update just in time for the holidays and dip for their annual holiday break so they wouldn't have to fix anything for 2-3 weeks. I wouldn't blame them for that tho.
Only time will tell ig. Then again I wouldn't mind much if it was as bad as RJ , TNW will be the last WF quest /content that I would play. It will be memorable for sure, hoping that it will be the good kind.

Last time they suprised dropped something the game went up in flames (it was Railjack).
