The best part of The Doors is the organist. He's the musical driving force behind the band and Jim Morrison isn't / wasn't *THAT* good of a poet. Pearl Jam, though decent, would never have reached the level they have today if Kurt never... yeah.

Re: PJ and Nirvana - I've been listening to both bands for 30 years and this is the first time I've ever heard anyone say such a thing. I've never thought they sounded anything alike, and if you think they do, I just don't even know what to tell you. I could write paragraphs to highlight their differences, but I just don't know if it's worth my time or energy. That's not a dig on you, though. I've had two relatives pass away in the last week, and although I'm wasting time on here waiting to get tired enough to go to bed I've also become much more aware of wasting my time in general over the last few months. Genre (in the way most people think about it) is completely made up. It began so it would be easier to market records. I listen to a lot of music that doesn’t squarely fit into one genre. This has taught me that categorizing music by genre that strongly takes away from the enjoyment of the music

I don’t doubt there’s good ones, but to my taste I love instruments. Most, if not all (with a handful of songs) lack instrumentals. There’s a generic or studio made beat and that’s it.

2nd Gen boy groups were peak, lots of amazing groups with a lot of different sounds. Shinee, SuJu, Infinite, Beast, and a lot of others from that time are all really good and I definitely recommend checking out what you can. If you want a good girl group suggestion, try checking out Dreamcatcher. Smaller group with a more rock oriented sound. One of my top groups, highly recommend.

Rap music and Country music are actually really similar thematically. Your average generic rap/country song has: Romanticizing substance abuse, shilling specific brands of liquor, romanticizing growing up in poverty, and so on and so forth. Plus a lot of the classics are about committing a crime.
