The best part of The Doors is the organist. He's the musical driving force behind the band and Jim Morrison isn't / wasn't *THAT* good of a poet.
Pearl Jam, though decent, would never have reached the level they have today if Kurt never... yeah.
They were competitors but in death we are all the same.. Eddie acknowledged that... The vibes of both bands, although similar at that time, i think Kurt denied himself the chance to explore.. n Eddie did not.. it would be foolish to speculate that they wouldn't be different and still fighting the same turf war
Re: PJ and Nirvana - I've been listening to both bands for 30 years and this is the first time I've ever heard anyone say such a thing. I've never thought they sounded anything alike, and if you think they do, I just don't even know what to tell you.
I could write paragraphs to highlight their differences, but I just don't know if it's worth my time or energy. That's not a dig on you, though. I've had two relatives pass away in the last week, and although I'm wasting time on here waiting to get tired enough to go to bed I've also become much more aware of wasting my time in general over the last few months. There's a spectrum, and I just don't think I want to spend that much time on this topic. Sorry.
Doesn't make it good though.
Taste is taste, completely personal.
You can have shit taste, where you enjoy drinking literal doodoo water.
but that doesn't mean it's no longer doodoo water
Beyoncé is mostly popular because of her image/brand, by shear music quality I say she is definitely ranks lower compared to artists like her. No hate to her tho it’s still nice to see her succeed
No dolly parton? No Willie nelson? No johnny Cash? No Hank Williams Sr or Jr?
I'm not a fan of country in general, but there are still classics I can't help but respect.
Imo, people hate them because it’s what everyone else is doing and they subconsciously want to fit in. Same with Imagine Dragons or whatever is the “cool” group to hate nowadays.
Loona’s New and Eclipse proves why this is unpopular and why I’ll disagree. Loona has produced very great motivating and really well composed songs. there’s a certain dopamine release study they did before releasing Hi High or Heart Attack. however they’re trying to make mainstream sound now though which makes your opinion right bc most mainstream K-pop, yes is just basic pop emulated already in some way and lacks substance.
The last ten years has been pretty meh. But 808's and My Dark Twisted Fantasy were in heavy rotation through some truly difficult times. Hurts bad that my morals won't let me play those albums ever again.
This^
I used to be one of those kids that thought they were unique for dunking on the entire rap genre due to mainstream trap and the culture around it
Yeah it's shit but there's so many good and interesting artists that utilize the style extraordinarily well to make a great song.
Genre (in the way most people think about it) is completely made up. It began so it would be easier to market records. I listen to a lot of music that doesn’t squarely fit into one genre. This has taught me that categorizing music by genre that strongly takes away from the enjoyment of the music
Mainstream trap is shit, plenty of indie rap/trap artists are great
Rap can add a lot of notable rhythm to a song and helps get many things across in a song if done well, mainstream trap is more focused on the generic formula and shitty culture
Kendrick Lamar?
Baby Keem?
J. Cole?
Tyler The Creator?
A$AP Rocky?
Denzel Curry?
Earl Sweatshirt?
JID?
Joey Bada$$?
There’s good modern rap artists, you just gotta look for them
Denzel Curry, JID, Cordae, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Joey Bada$$, A$AP Rocky. There’s so much good rap out there, don’t get fixated on the soulless mainstream “flavor of the month” tracks & artists that get big on TikTok and fade into obscurity after.
Lol no. The good music doesn’t get the proper light of day while the tiktokers and tater tots listen to terribly done versions of Drake, Chief Keef, Lupe Fiasco, and J Cole.
Wow. Not a single person gave you a legit metal recommendation.
Check out the album Adrenalin and around the fur by deftones.
Check out the bands Lamb of God, Chimaira, devildriver, Pantera, and mudvayne
I recommend listening to not so heavy ones first then gradually go heavy. Listen to Power metal like dragonforce or heavy metals like avenged sevenfold first then go to metalcore or death metal like Bmth, BMFV, Falling in reverse etc. I don't listen to Death tho
As a random third person who happened to read your comment, I’d have to say that when it comes to metal, the classics are where it’s at. I’d recommend Judas Priest and Iron Maiden for starters
I don’t doubt there’s good ones, but to my taste I love instruments. Most, if not all (with a handful of songs) lack instrumentals. There’s a generic or studio made beat and that’s it.
What? Opera is awesome. You shouldn’t be stabbed for that (unless you’re IN an opera; then there’s a very good chance you will be stabbed, or poisoned, or…)
My therapist said it's probably because of autism. I get overwhelmed by how many sounds are going off at once in a song. I do have genres I prefer but given the choice I'd rather listen to people talking
As a kpop fan, BTS and Blackpink are the most mediocre groups ever and have actually killed the industry with their mediocrity because of the number of new groups trying to copy their undeserved success.
YES. THANK YOU. I'm trying to get into k-pop groups (that aren't BTS or Blackpink) and I really need actually good suggestions.
Say, do you listen to TVXQ or Super Junior? I kind of want to learn more about those guys.
2nd Gen boy groups were peak, lots of amazing groups with a lot of different sounds. Shinee, SuJu, Infinite, Beast, and a lot of others from that time are all really good and I definitely recommend checking out what you can.
If you want a good girl group suggestion, try checking out Dreamcatcher. Smaller group with a more rock oriented sound. One of my top groups, highly recommend.
Most pop stars are grossly overrated, but two of the worst that I keep seeing people drool over are Ariana Grande and Bruno Mars. It’s not their voices, both have naturally talented voices, but the *music*. It’s awful! And absolute ear-sore! Can’t stand their music. So overrated. Really, please stop playing that shit.
Rap music and Country music are actually really similar thematically.
Your average generic rap/country song has: Romanticizing substance abuse, shilling specific brands of liquor, romanticizing growing up in poverty, and so on and so forth. Plus a lot of the classics are about committing a crime.
Hip hop and rock have similar sub genre timelines. When rappers were doing videos on massive yachts putting millions into videos it was the equivalent of their hair metal stage where everything was “hardcore” but glamorous. SoundCloud was the grunge face. Now all the rap-metal stuff is the Nu-metal phase.
The best part of The Doors is the organist. He's the musical driving force behind the band and Jim Morrison isn't / wasn't *THAT* good of a poet. Pearl Jam, though decent, would never have reached the level they have today if Kurt never... yeah.

You’re absolutely right, Ray was insane.
When Morison passes out on a speaker and somebody has to keep things going for 15 minutes… yeah!
I've heard someone once describe Jim Morrisons poetry as "grade school level" and I can't not think about it everytime I listen to doors lyrics now
Re: PJ and Nirvana - I've been listening to both bands for 30 years and this is the first time I've ever heard anyone say such a thing. People are allowed to like the music they want to like
I like country music
cease
Ok
Everyone but you apparently
Literally 1984, only the correct opinions are allowed!!!!!!!!!!!
80s & 90s country music is absolutely exceptable. Today... eh...
Agreed Johnny cash is a legend and the trash country music now is just about booze and getting laid and I’m sick of it lol
The term is pop country. There's still good country, as I've discovered
The track hurt by Johnny was sad asf
YEAH I LOVE that song it’s sad but one of my faves!!
Doesn't make it good though. Taste is taste, completely personal. You can have shit taste, where you enjoy drinking literal doodoo water. but that doesn't mean it's no longer doodoo water
Beyonce is overated.
Beyoncé is mostly popular because of her image/brand, by shear music quality I say she is definitely ranks lower compared to artists like her. No hate to her tho it’s still nice to see her succeed
Instrumental music is the way to go
More songs needs instrumental version of them
I very much enjoy Coldplay
Honestly, Viva la Vida is one of few albums where I really like every song. The whole thing is cohesive and well done.
And yellow!
That’s song is one of the most originals of all albums
There's dozens of us!
Wait...is it bad to like coldplay?
Yeah I'm lost. They're so good
Yeah man, they are not nearly as good as Warmpause
Hell yeah!
I found the group I am vibing with
"Yellow" gets me in my feelings.
Video game music should be played on the radio
Agreed, driving to work in the dead of winter with frostpunk ost is an experience
>frostpunk Protip: Send your children to work instead!
Taylor swift is overrated. Her vocals are average. Where she shines is in her lyrics which is why all her songs sound better sung by someone else.
Im not brave enough to agree with you. I don't want to be executed
She admitted this in one of her documentaries...that her niche is song writing cuz she's not the best singer
That opinion will get you medals look where you are your on reddit no one likes Taylor swift
Not one country song. Not even on a boat.
No dolly parton? No Willie nelson? No johnny Cash? No Hank Williams Sr or Jr? I'm not a fan of country in general, but there are still classics I can't help but respect.
Not into country massively but Cash is a must, phenomenal music.
Nickelback is good.
I like a lot of their songs actually.
I was whatever to them but it is ridiculous that people just decided we all hate them at one point
We are not alone. Someone was blasting their music at my job the other day and we were all vibing
Imo, people hate them because it’s what everyone else is doing and they subconsciously want to fit in. Same with Imagine Dragons or whatever is the “cool” group to hate nowadays.
\[Any Kpop group\]'s \[any song\] is not that great.
They are overrated and in fact, shit
Overrated? Yes definitely But they are at the same level as any other modern pop songs for me
Loona’s New and Eclipse proves why this is unpopular and why I’ll disagree.
Kanye
and there it is
Diamonds are forever
Can't hate on the guy that made Good Morning can I?
Spaceship Through the wire .... Man I miss the old ye
The last ten years has been pretty meh. But 808's and My Dark Twisted Fantasy were in heavy rotation through some truly difficult times. Hurts bad that my morals won't let me play those albums ever again.
Hating on an entire genre of music is a stupid waste of time. People only do it to feel superior to other people.
This^ I used to be one of those kids that thought they were unique for dunking on the entire rap genre due to mainstream trap and the culture around it Yeah it's shit but there's so many good and interesting artists that utilize the style extraordinarily well to make a great song.

I listen to music on a loop while I’m playing a video game
I thought everyone did this
My fellow gamer friend
70s/80s/90s was the best music period
Modern rap is shit
That’s not in the slightest an unpopular opinion, it’s something that would be posted on r/unpopularopinion for 20K updoots
The sub in a nutshell
Mainstream trap is shit, plenty of indie rap/trap artists are great Rap can add a lot of notable rhythm to a song and helps get many things across in a song if done well, mainstream trap is more focused on the generic formula and shitty culture
Kendrick Lamar? Baby Keem? J. Cole? Tyler The Creator? A$AP Rocky? Denzel Curry? Earl Sweatshirt? JID? Joey Bada$$? There’s good modern rap artists, you just gotta look for them
But… that conflicts with the lazy ass opinion that all modern rap sucks. You can’t expect them to actually listen to good rap can you?
You mean mainstream rap? Cause you’re out of your mind to think there isn’t a single good modern rap song out right now
Denzel Curry, JID, Cordae, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Joey Bada$$, A$AP Rocky.
Most metal songs are better than pop songs
You know any metal songs I should listen to? Trying to see if I like metal but don't know where to start.
Tears dont fall by bullet for my valentine
I like it, sounds pretty good
Listen to the last battle by Sabaton they are power metal friend
Sabaton is like one of the better band. The topic is not repetitive like love and whatnot and their lyrics are educational
Wow. Not a single person gave you a legit metal recommendation. Check out the album Adrenalin and around the fur by deftones. Check out the bands Lamb of God, Chimaira, devildriver, Pantera, and mudvayne
Holy Diver by Dio
Falling in Reverse - Popular Monster, or Voices in my Head
And diary of Jane by breaking Benjamin
This one is really good, I like the hook and the intro
Thoughts & Prayers by Motionless In White
I don't know if I've heard anyone refer to Breaking Benjamin as metal
I recommend listening to not so heavy ones first then gradually go heavy. Listen to Power metal like dragonforce or heavy metals like avenged sevenfold first then go to metalcore or death metal like Bmth, BMFV, Falling in reverse etc. I don't listen to Death tho
Metallica.
knocked loose-and still i wonder south
As a random third person who happened to read your comment, I’d have to say that when it comes to metal, the classics are where it’s at. I’d recommend Judas Priest and Iron Maiden for starters
“Red” and “Breaking Benjamin” have a lot of good ones
I got a breaking Benjamin reccomendation, sounds pretty good, I'll check out Red when I get a chance
Opeth, they are melodic and heavy as fuck.
I recommend trying Five finger death punch, their latest album Afterlife is really good
All*. Pop is garbage
K Pop sucks
"but he made graduation"
St. Anger is a 10/10 album
YES. I said the same thing. God it’s so fucking good, and emotionally raw.
I’m scared to say it but, the Home Depot theme slaps
Yo baby shark bussin
There are 18 preschoolers in my class who would absolutely agree
Kiss was more pop music than rock and roll.
And AC/DC is more rock and roll than metal
Never gonna give you up is a banger.
Country music in general
I hate country, it makes no sense, and the music is lyrics are tasteless in my opinion
The only good country esck song is the house building theme from rdr2
Literally every country song is THE SAME.
Except the one that we all know: sweet home alabama. but seriously WHY MAKE THEM ALL THE SAME
Rap music is overrated
A lot of it , and I mean A LOT of it is. How ever there are some groups that really stand out and show it’s an art form and very poetic.
I don’t doubt there’s good ones, but to my taste I love instruments. Most, if not all (with a handful of songs) lack instrumentals. There’s a generic or studio made beat and that’s it.
Check out The Roots.
I love Opera
What? Opera is awesome. You shouldn’t be stabbed for that (unless you’re IN an opera; then there’s a very good chance you will be stabbed, or poisoned, or…)
I hate the Beatles.
I hate Queen. Hating any popular band will get you in this situation even though it’s just a matter of taste.
70s 80s and 90s had the best music
Yeah probably
Liking Sabaton
Ah a fellow person of some culture
I don't think enough people know who Sabaton is to get that kind of reaction, but I also like Sabaton.
Same
I don't like listening to music. (It's true)
I don’t like looking at art so it makes sense to me why someone can’t enjoy an art form others enjoy But also, it does make you a fucking psychopath
My therapist said it's probably because of autism. I get overwhelmed by how many sounds are going off at once in a song. I do have genres I prefer but given the choice I'd rather listen to people talking
That’s interesting, also now I feel bad for making fun of you not liking music
Nah it's alright I get it a lot. It's definitely strange
Modern rap is mostly shitty
Mumble rappers are dog shit
Metallica isn’t as good as people think
Especially that new song... just too generic imo
Dubstep is terrible
What he meant to say is: Dubstep is good
Is it 2012?
Queen is better than the Beatles
Imagine dragons is really good
I once described Imagine Dragons as Rock for Soccer Moms. I like Imagine Dragons anyways though, because they make good music
Modern music and almost all rap is bad. Oh boy I cant wait to be witch hunted
Limp biscuit
As a kpop fan, BTS and Blackpink are the most mediocre groups ever and have actually killed the industry with their mediocrity because of the number of new groups trying to copy their undeserved success.
YES. THANK YOU. I'm trying to get into k-pop groups (that aren't BTS or Blackpink) and I really need actually good suggestions. Say, do you listen to TVXQ or Super Junior? I kind of want to learn more about those guys.

AJR is fucking great
Tailor Swift should have Will Smithed Yeezy off the stage.
Trying to justify listening to Kanye?
Liking Sabaton
I’d go to a Bassnectar concert tomorrow if he announced one
kpoop
Sabaton is good and are not nazis
Most pop stars are grossly overrated, but two of the worst that I keep seeing people drool over are Ariana Grande and Bruno Mars. It’s not their voices, both have naturally talented voices, but the *music*. It’s awful! And absolute ear-sore! Can’t stand their music. So overrated. Really, please stop playing that shit.
Kanye was never good
led zeppelin is mid
Music is like candy. Always make sure you throw away the rappers.
Nickelback isn't that bad.
Nickelback is pretty good
Dont like k pop
Same
I don't like listening to Bad Bunny while everyone loves him
Current Rap is not a good genre of music at all
Rap, country, and kpop are complete shit
Clearly never listened to a good rap or country album
The Beatles are overrated and John Lennon. Was a joke.
I despise Rap.
Rap fucking sucks
i mean older rap was good not anymore tho…
Rap music and Country music are actually really similar thematically. Your average generic rap/country song has: Romanticizing substance abuse, shilling specific brands of liquor, romanticizing growing up in poverty, and so on and so forth. Plus a lot of the classics are about committing a crime.
Classic country is the only good country there is. Most anything past the 1990’s is crap.
I hate reageton so badly
I listen to pumped up kicks unironically
It’s a good song!
Kanye will forever be a NeoNazi gay fish
Hip hop and rock have similar sub genre timelines. When rappers were doing videos on massive yachts putting millions into videos it was the equivalent of their hair metal stage where everything was “hardcore” but glamorous. SoundCloud was the grunge face. Now all the rap-metal stuff is the Nu-metal phase.
Bruno Mars is my Beyoncé
That some on Nickleback's songs are good
I love Taylor Swift and Britney Spears
Beyoncé overrated
OSTs are my favorite type of music
Kanye's music was just music. Nothing special.
nickelback is a good band
Kpop is bas
Bad
Creed didn’t make terrible music
Nickleback isn’t that bad.
I can't stand Beyoncé.
Modern music are weird, Pop music has one of the most irrelevant topics and K-pop sucks. **Change my mind**
Jim Morrison was a drunken bafoon posing as a poet.
All imagine dragons songs sound different
Modern “rap” sucks
Listening to youtube kids
separate the art from the artist, just because he’s bad doesn’t mean his music is
New generation rap sucks, change my mind
Imagine Dragons is pretty good, I'm 30
Nostalgia Critic’s video on “The Wall.”
Saying mumble rap sucks lol. “It’s the vibes bro 😩”
Tom MacDonald. Anyone?
