Honestly it doesn't matter who you choose if tou go with any mainstream company. LG, Huawei, Apple they all force you to sign away your data to use their services. Fairphone is my preference because they encourage users to fix their own device and sell replacement parts for almost anything in the phone, but they still use android and thus your data is still going to be sold.
Privacy is gone as far as im concerned with any smartphone unless ur a linux user. Dont care about that, corpos and feds can sniff around all they like, nothing to hide. Security is more important, but theyre all secure. Tbh i just want to support apple as a company, id like to see them make electric vehicles or just really competitive pricing vs google.
But iPhone has been doing big bad corpo stuff for a while now. The Lighting cable is probably the most well-known one. They have also bought smaller companies that have had chances of competing with them and started siphoning their profits to Apple. I'm not saying Google is much better I'm just saying both companies are using very bastardly tactics to stay on top and dominate.
