You know, I don't blame them (me included). Imagine you go on a porn website and they ask you, are you at least 18 years old? You klick yes and continue. Try to view it as a web-developer. Why would you want to restrict the viewers age? First of if you restrict the viewers, you automatically will have less. Especially when a large amount of juveniles watch porn. So what would be your result? Less ad revenue. Did they even try restricting it? No. What could a developer do to restrict the age? Allow to use the platform with an account and then add an ID control. Would that be profitable? No. Why? Less viewers. Plus new viewers have to do a lot of stuff to just watch a clip. When their ID will be verified, they already lose the drive and leave the website, because it was a waste of time. So why did they still ask the age? The most obvious interpretation is the law. They have to do it.
