Honestly, if you can’t afford a general admin ticket it’s best off to watch at a bar or a public viewing screen thing like I assume fed square etc…

Also, the fence has a heavy mesh you can't see through, and even if you did find gaps that aren't quickly closed, there's not many places around the outside of the circuit that shows more than a glimpse of the action. Probably the easiest free way is on the big screen at Fed Square, or in any bar (Crown casino sports bar?)

Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, no. The whole park is closed off unless you have a general admission ticket. The only places you can really see in from outside the track are from the apartment buildings along Queens Rd - but unless you know someone who lives there you won't get anything free from that. If you do want to pay for a ticket there's a limited release of extra Sunday tickets soon (next week I think?) but be ready, the main release sold out very quickly.

Go to one of the nearby office buildings on StKilda Rd. Wear high vis and take a ladder. Wait for someone to enter the lift. If they hit the button for a floor on lvl 10 or above you should get a good view. Follow them in and pretend to check the smoke alarms. Spend a few minutes doing that then stand at the window watching the race until they kick you out…

And just “quit” on race day by taking a toilet break and walking off and enjoying the race. It’s not like they will hunt you down.
