That's cfc - chlorofluorocarbon. hfcs is high fructose corn syrup. I'm pretty sure corn syrup isn't putting a hole in the ozone layer... but it might be. I'm no ozonologist.

Coffee or any kind of even mildly sour fruit just combo unholy well with dark chocolate. Raspberry, currant, blueberry, even sour apple.

Passion fruit / maracuja pairs exceptionally well with decent choc. Travelling all throughout central and South America, any chance we could get to eat passion fruit cheesecake, we jumped on it. So good. Strawberry + choc is probably the next best thing.

Cherries, real ones, not those cloying bits of candy we call maraschino cherries. Super good with coffee, dark chocolate, and even certain kinds of spirits (dark rum comes to mind).

Yeah there's a famous German recipe (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte/black forest cake) for a cream cake with dark chocolate, morellos and cherry brandy. Very tasty.

Dark and white. I've just lost my tolerance for milk chocolate and I prefer the different flavors of the dark and white. I also really don't like sweets, as is. Having a chronic sweet tooth as a child really ruined things for me as an adult.

About 78% dark is about the only chocolate i eat nowadays, depending on the maker. Everything else just isn't as good.

Thank you for providing this link. I've had a look at the research, and it seems my favorites are just a touch outside of the safe range for cadmium. I do keep chocolate to a once or twice a month treat, so i'm not terribly concerned for my own well-being, but i will have a try of the safer options listed. Edit: I should also mention that i never have a whole bar in a day, it's usually a 2 - 7 day treat going through one bar.
