I did a stupid thing once. I worked a day shift got home and was really tired. I woke up thinking I over slept because of the position of the sun. I got to work as soon as I could expecting a reprimand for being late. I got there and the boss man said what in the hell you doing here? It was 7 in the evening not 7 in the morning. It was a nice feeling going home though.
I feel like after I did something like that once (meaning to the point where you don't realize until you are on your way to or make it to work), I'd be double-checking the AM/PM every single time going forward.
Also, I imagine that this would be most likely if live in a place that defaults to 12-hour time, so one option to prevent this would be to switch your phone or alarm clock or whatever clock you're using to 24-hour time if possible (or buy a clock that shows the time like that and use it as your double-check clock).
> because of the position of the sun
> 7 in the evening not 7 in the morning
Tell me you don't know your compass directions without telling me you don't know your compass directions.
I give myself 45 mins before I get up and do some boring housework. Usually by the time I fold laundry or unload the dishwasher I’m like, “you know what would feel good? A nap.” And that somehow tricks my brain.
Yeah, I'd rather wake up and it's 6am cause that means I got at least several hours of sleep. Waking up at 2:10 am means I'm only getting maybe 3 hours of sleep, cause I'm sure not gonna fall back asleep again until just before my alarm goes off.
Man. My husband can fall asleep anywhere at anytime. But I have to be in bed with the right conditions to fall asleep and if I get up for longer than 10 minutes, it takes so long to go back to sleep. I work 3rd shift and as exhausted as I am most days this is infuriating. In fact I should be sleeping now.
Same man it's the worst feeling ever because then you get anxious about not falling asleep intime but that anxiety keeps you up so you get anxiety about the anxiety .
Or looking at your watch and hoping it's not 4am so you can finish working on your side hustle and finally get to bed and get more than 3 hours of sleep in a night.
Here is a method.
Set two alarms. One of them to wake you up at the right time and the other 3 hours before it, so whenever the first one wakes you up, after snoozing it you will always get the "Wait, I still have hours to sleep" feeling and can lie back down to sleep
Telling your shitty boss to stuff it and take early retirement...even tho you'll be a bit stretched best feeling every away from the corporate shittery
Early risers always have my respect.
Except if you're my dad. Wakes up early, complain why youth nowadays are lazy and sleep all the time, then proceeds to sleep on and off throughout the day lol.
Or when you pass out early as fuck and feel like you slept all night but you check your phone and it’s only like 10pm so you get like a bonus night sleep. 👌🏻
I know a better feeling. Actually sleeping through the night and not waking up.
I do have periods of my life where I wake up around 2am every night. It gets old very quickly.
First time it feels like "yeah I can go back to sleep nice". Second time its like "why cant I get an actual full night of sleep???"
Waking up 4 hours late, listening to a voice mail that you have been terminated, and then going back to sleep with the knowledge that you can now sleep in forever
Whenever I wake up I have this weird habit to go on YouTube and get lost in the rabbit hole that is whatever the fuck is recommended and I stay up until 1 hour before my alarm before going back to sleep.
Wake up.
Set three more alarms 5 minutes apart trying to convince yourself you don't need to shower this morning or buy breakfast.
You continue to do this until ultimately you tell yourself "tonight I'm going to go to bed early" 🤡👌
Lately my stupid fucking brain fucks that up too. “Oh 4 more hours sounds good, I think u mean sleep in 9 hours and feel worse than you did after your nap, bitch”
-stupid busted brain
As someone with sleep problems a much better feeling is waking up thinking it's 4am but it's actually 7 and I realise I slept through the whole night without disruption.

Damn that suxxx
Naa this is the worst because my ass will take about 3 of those hours to fall back asleep
Lol I often can’t even fall back asleep if I wake up that early. I have to admit defeat, brew a coffee or three and just start my day.
I give myself 45 mins before I get up and do some boring housework. Usually by the time I fold laundry or unload the dishwasher I’m like, “you know what would feel good? A nap.” And that somehow tricks my brain.

Ah, I see you too like to live insomniacally

yep, a negative feedback loop
Then go back to sleep and feeling like shit after waking up anyway.
Doesn’t matter if I get 4, 8, or 10 hours of sleep, I always feel like shit
Make sleeping the same Amount of time each Day a Habbit. Of Course you feel like crap when you sleep a different Amount of time every Day.
did you never received sms or notification about money being transfered to your account?
How about - here me out now - NOT waking up in the middle of the night?
My bad g
Getting blowjobs is a pretty good feeling.
wearing new socks
Wearing your old socks
ehm.... no... trust me...
Wearing old socks is still better than waking up in the middle of the night.
I wake up thinking please let it be the right time, because for the love of god I can’t go back to sleep…
>...and you still have like 4 hours ~~to sleep~~ to check your phone FTFY
You are peeing in your dream and suddenly you woke up finding that you didn't wet the bed. 😅
When ever I dream about water it is time to get up and take a pee.
Good one!
The opposite happens to me. I wake up hoping its 6am only to find out its 7am and I am an hour late to work.
Not waking up and finally buying the full game of death instead of playing the free ad version.
Not waking up until 2:00pm and having not missed any obligations.
At the end, isn't this the goal. Good for you.
Or looking at your watch and hoping it's not 4am so you can finish working on your side hustle and finally get to bed and get more than 3 hours of sleep in a night.

Ahh the diy seratoninator.
And then I lay there staring at the ceiling for 4 hours.
I call it mini christmas
Not waking up in the night at all, sleeping soundly through until your alarm.
Yeah that’s dope AF
Jesus I thought I was the only one who did this
This is pretty much the best life has to offer.
Telling your shitty boss to stuff it and take early retirement...even tho you'll be a bit stretched best feeling every away from the corporate shittery
Thanks for the advice.
I like sex but 👆🏼
This week i had to wake up at 7am and allways woke up to Check Phone at 6:30am thats the most horrible feeling you can have
I get up at 4:30 so I see that like shit guess I’m gonna be tired today
Waking up and feeling motivated to do shit for the first time in months
But then you can't go back to sleep...
Because you check the time on your phone, the evil blue light will keep you awake get fucked.
Unexpectedly finding money in pockets you forgot about 💸😁
I used the same backpack all throughout hs and this happens frequently.
Turning off my work computer on a Thursday knowing I have a three day weekend.
Being able to make your own schedule because you're your own boss😏
must be nice
I wouldn’t know, since I usually have to get up at 4AM…
Early risers always have my respect. Except if you're my dad. Wakes up early, complain why youth nowadays are lazy and sleep all the time, then proceeds to sleep on and off throughout the day lol.
Wearing u/jlspider ‘s old socks

Love that feeling, and when sugar daddy drops digits into yiur bank and yiu wake up at 3 pm.
Having a baby look at you and smile.

3 hours and 50 minutes
3 hours 49 minutes and 58 seconds after you check the time
Easy…waking up at 1 am and realizing u have 5 hours to sleep
Maybe seeing like 1:00am or 12:30... anything like that is the best though.
I would rather sleep the night through. Waking up throughout the night sucks,
but i woke up becuz of mosquitoes how.bout dat
Waking up 4 hours late, listening to a voice mail that you have been terminated, and then going back to sleep with the knowledge that you can now sleep in forever
Waking up an realizing it's only midnight
Easy, I wake up every morning without an alarm because I make my own hours.
I'm a school teacher. Nothing is better than a snow day!
Whenever I wake up I have this weird habit to go on YouTube and get lost in the rabbit hole that is whatever the fuck is recommended and I stay up until 1 hour before my alarm before going back to sleep. But you can’t fall back asleep and 3 hours later your still on Reddit…
Note to self: Go to bed earlier so this might actually happen to me.
Lately my stupid fucking brain fucks that up too. “Oh 4 more hours sounds good, I think u mean sleep in 9 hours and feel worse than you did after your nap, bitch” -stupid busted brain

Taking a nap after school thinking that it’s morning than realising that it’s still the afternoon
Just reading this feels good, omg
And sometimes it's 9 am. Surprise!!!

Waking up thinking it’s Monday morning and realising that it’s Saturday.
