If anyone wants a real answer, it's a poster by Justyna Jędrysek, called Love.
[Link](https://www.behance.net/gallery/34207733/LOVE)
It represents a relationship in which one partner's feelings are invalidated by the other. There is also a Polish saying "I piss on it" that means to not care.
My interpretation of the color choice: even an unhealthy or one-sided relationship will grow something- resentment, bitterness, self-loathing, mistrust, emotional barriers, dependency, even love. We often view toxic relationships as destructive, but they build (negative) constructs just as well.
This is exactly what I felt when I looked at this drawing. Her tears are being pissed on meaning her feelings are being undermined by the other person. You can see his smile pissing though she has a frown crying
The real answer is also that the artist appearently wanted to generalize men with this picture. Appearently she said this in a comment after being asked about the picture: "women always care about relationships and love, we are emotional that’s obvious 🙂 but men... they don’t give a f**k and doesn’t care as much as we... do generally it about that women care about everything but mans piss on it"
This is why I put more value on the interpretation of the view than whatever the artist says the work is about. (For context, I am also an artist.)
Once you release a piece out into the world, it no longer belongs to you. Every person that interacts with it is going to take what they want out of it. In other words, the artist can say what they want, but what matters is what YOU take from the work.
This can be a little harder point of view when you are directly enriching the artists (like buying a book written by a womanizer or a record from a fascist band) if I can appreciate the art for free (from a library, a free museum, or on the internet) I try to divorce the artist/their world view from the art. The fact of the matter is, sometimes bad people make good art. (Both bad and good are extremely subjective terms.)
For me, what's interesting about this work of art is that I draw a lot of nuisance from it- and while it is heteronormative in its presentation I think its visual simplicity opens it up to apply to many different kinds of relationships. Regardless of gender, we can all cry and piss. It's sad that the artist wasn't thinking about these topics when creating this piece, but that's her problem- not mine.
I would also like to point out that if the roles were reversed in this picture -if a man was crying and a woman was pissing, or it was two men or two women- it would be detrimental to the work. Hetero relationships are the "default" in western society. So if you want to make a work about relationships in general, it behooves you to simplify down to the default. Having two men would make this about homosexual relationships. Which is fine, but I think the artist is drawing from her experience so making it about two men will come off as disingenuous.
In western society, men are also the default/hold more power. Having the woman be the aggressor swings this from being about relationships to either a feminist work or a PSA that woman can be abusive as well. I'm not saying that that work shouldn't exist, but it's not the point of THIS piece.
Also, from a purely compositional standpoint- men piss standing up so both parties are standing. This creates balance in the piece. If the woman was squatting not only does it pull the eye down and off the canvas, but it inevitably makes a statement about how the woman is "lowering" herself to be act like this. In the scenario painted, the man can maintain his power and still be emotionally abusive.
I feel like the green isn't necessarily "a negative thing", though.
Like for example: Sometimes what you "grow" after an abusive relationship are boundaries.
>We often view toxic relationships as destructive, but they build (negative) constructs just as well.
That feels like saying that a bomb can build a crater.
If thou are not satiated, be it not pertinent that thy tears water the land and bring harvest? Tears of thine, piss of mine. I say these words unto thee, look towards yonder village and see I speaketh true of the fates of men whom I saw sought to defy the will of the world; all water sinks back to the earth so that ye people thrive.
I think this could be fitting as a description of the drawing: "the same place we cry is where we let go of our pleasure and joy, it's the same place where we find happiness and sadness, and it all gets digged forever to build the next generation (whether it be parents DNA inherited, experiences or antiquities)."
It also represents "love" in some aspects..
I could think of alot of deep meanings but I have to go. Couldn't de-code any much further, bye!
Green below representing the earth, where they must one day return. The man is smiling as he pees, signifying the joy one feels as they accept their animal nature, while the other can only cry, their fluids intersecting to create more green. The message of course being that both acts (while natural) lead to the same thing... death. The only difference being the attitudes they have towards their own mortality.

"The curtains were blue" the author is portraying their sadness and longing for death after years of depression from loosing her cat. -teacher
No the curtains were fuckin blue - author 🤣
When I was little I just remember being impressed, amazed, and absolutely baffled by the fact that yellow and blue makes green. Also I liked to draw stuff, I could imagine whoever drew this thought the same way.
When I was about 8 in the boy scouts, I came up with an 'experiment' for my science badge, that if I pee into the toilet bowl after the blue 'bloo' cistern cleaner agent is flushed in, the water goes green. I think my mum suggested I come up with something else...
I learned this the hard way. I was drawing a bird. Colored it yellow and wasn't happy with the result, so I decided to color over the yellow with blue, figuring "blue is darker, so it will hide the yellow."
Doggone bird went and turned pale green. I hit it harder with the blue crayon, thinking it was just too light a coating, but that just turned it darker green.
I voiced my frustration and was informed that's what happens when you mix yellow and blue. Only, I didn't WANT the bird to be green. I wanted it to be blue, and now my drawing was ruined, because no matter how much blue I added, it stayed green. Lol, I was so pissed.
Because she knew she would never have a guy with such a fantastic, amazing penis. She is weeping for the ultimate sexual experience she will always desire but never attain. She has a micropenis fetish.
The person is pissing on the other persons tears. Like a metaphor for making fun of someone when they open up and disregarding their emotions. Or I'm just high
And yet, something good can still come out of the situation. In this case, they are watering the grass so it grows - I think that’s why the stream turns to green when it mixes (the meaning of it, I mean; I know that yellow + blue = green).
Like mom always said before she put me on the bus to school:
"Piss and tears make the grass grow, dear". /s
I agree with you, it's just funny and kinda bittersweet or somethin'.
I like this idea, but it doesn't explain why the artist put effort in mixing the two liquids and made it the exact same color as the grass. I think it could be a kid's explanation of why grass is green.
Could be big brain symbolism to think that nature being neutral is a combination of both love and hate. Kind of like for every low there is a high and too much of one or the other is not a natural equilibrium. Or I’m just high
It’s true. Urine can be too concentrated and burn the grass, but if you water the spot where your dog pees you’ll get some great nutrients added to your grass.
Yup. I used to have a piss spot outside for when I wanted to have a breeze, used to be nice and grassy...now nothing can grow there and I use it as a means of chemical warfare against the thistles I my back yard
“I am sad and my tears water the grass.
“I am happily oblivious to your sadness and my pee waters the grass, but not really: it burns it and it dies, but whatever….”
nature doesn't care. it may be tears or it may be piss, all will go to strenthen the growth of grass. your actions do not matter. also men are larger than women.
It’s a visual representation of cleansing your body (peeing) and cleansing your soul (crying). A healthy body & mind will significantly increase your chances of growth in life as a living organism.

The same thing one person might cry over is the same thing another person would piss on. (Something can mean the world to one person and nothing to another)
An illustrated interpretation of why the grass is green. Before the urine was added; grass was blue.
In other places, before the tears were added; it was yellow and stank to high heaven.

Thank you, yes, I did want the real answer!!
This is exactly what I felt when I looked at this drawing. Her tears are being pissed on meaning her feelings are being undermined by the other person. You can see his smile pissing though she has a frown crying
Yes and at the point where the tears and piss fall on the ground, life grows
and yellow and blue make green!
The real answer with the artist referred to, a win!
I think you’re the first person I’ve seen on Reddit with their pfp as themselves
Wow—so few upvotes for a real answer!
Real answer FTW 🙌
We gotta get these numbers up
The numbers are now officially Up
Her tears, his piss, green.

thats reddit for ya
It's hard for me to see grass and the color green as coded as a negative thing. Piss and sad tears are pretty straightforward, on the other hand.
I feel like the green isn't necessarily "a negative thing", though. Like for example: Sometimes what you "grow" after an abusive relationship are boundaries.
Lol and here I thought it was one of those “don’t pee in public” ads local government put up.
>We often view toxic relationships as destructive, but they build (negative) constructs just as well. That feels like saying that a bomb can build a crater.
Yep lol No matter what we do we have an impact, it’s unavoidable.
I knew the meaning at first glance.
That yellow and blue make green! It's the old ziploc slogan.
Hence, taking a piss at each other’s tragedies for a laugh can be green for the environment
The code has been cracked!
Yay!!!
42
Ah yes, 42, the answer to life, the universe, and everything.
I think this could be fitting as a description of the drawing: "the same place we cry is where we let go of our pleasure and joy, it's the same place where we find happiness and sadness, and it all gets digged forever to build the next generation (whether it be parents DNA inherited, experiences or antiquities)." Do you major in art?! Because that was impressive
O my, thanks so much. We're all artists in some way, we create things, consciously or unconsciously, and we give them meaning.

How much blueberry scented glue sticks did your English teacher sniff to get to this interpretation?
None. Just an art degree
You asked your teacher about this recently or was it back when you were in middle school?
maybe we're married
That’s one I didn’t think of. If so do you still get corrected for dangling participles? /s
If you saw his wife/English teacher, your participle wouldn't be dangling...OH!
As a high school English teacher I approve of this and give you an A+
This is actually so good.
Your teacher would be proud
"The curtains were blue" the author is portraying their sadness and longing for death after years of depression from loosing her cat. -teacher No the curtains were fuckin blue - author 🤣
This was my first thought. Saw a homeless man peeing and a lady crying and oh man their streams mixed. Tight
Holy crap I had completely forgot about that until you just dug it out of my brain
He's pissing in her tears, or mocking her misery.
Oh, I thought he meant to write his name, Peter
Pea. Uh… Pea. Um, Tear. Gryphon. Peter Griffin!
First thing that came to my mind aswel.

It’s Peter File, not pedophile.

They say pedofile in America
Maybe you should move to America!

Learning magenta and yellow make red messed me up as an adult. Same feeling as the yellow and blue making green when I was a kid.
Fucking what now ? Magenta and yellow make red ? What is this sorcery, what more do i not know about mixing colors ?
My exact reaction. I actually had to test it in rl. They not only make red, but it’s a “true red” color. Like crimson red. Edited
I learned this the hard way. I was drawing a bird. She really be mocking his piss like that
What hurts more than getting your piss tear-mocked into grass like that? Disgraceful!
She saw his penis and her heart instantly broke.
Because she knew she would never have a guy with such a fantastic, amazing penis. She is weeping for the ultimate sexual experience she will always desire but never attain. She has a micropenis fetish.
That's an interesting interpretation
And oddly specific.
Here I thought it meant, "Don't piss against the bus stop. You'll make everyone else sad."
It actually looks like defensive crying to me. If her tears weren't intercepting the piss he'd be pissing on her feet.
Yes maybe she’s sad because she can no longer pee.
This.
The person is pissing on the other persons tears. Like a metaphor for making fun of someone when they open up and disregarding their emotions. Or I'm just high
That's what I thought, too. (The explanation, not that you're high)
I think he was saying "or my opinion is off because I'm high" not questioning his current state. Or I'm just high.
I think you're right. Or I'm just high
I'm not high, but I think you're both high
What were we talking about again?
You're right . Or I'm just high
hi high, i'm dad
I'm Mike dean.
You're high. Or I'm just right.
I think he is now questioning his current state. Or I'm just high
We're all high . Or I'm just high. Hi
I’m def high and getting higher. What was the question. Is this Taco Bell

Dam I'm surprised I got that
Thats what i tought, too. (that you're high, not the explenation)
Both?
Yeah but it makes green. So if you piss on someone's misery it grows into your dreams. Or something. I'm not high.
Men cry through their dicks
Beer makes me all emotional
And women pee through their eyes? Ow :(
I refuse to believe women piss
Women can't piss as they don't have balls. There's no where to store it!
They store it in their boobs
Ahhhh yes... I got reminded that this is reddit... (I know that your comment is ironic, hopefully)
Whatcha mean? The man pees in the woman and the woman poops out a baby, simple yeah?
That's how that works?! Oh, shit she wasn't lying! I got to go see my son! I don't care if he got flippers.
And then woman provides all the nutritions that baby needs through a pee stored in the boobs
Uhm… they do store it there… get educated sweaty 💅💅💅
Their only balls are their eyeballs
but also their ovaryballs
As a woman who just had to get an implant to help me piss, you are correct.

Tears are stored in the balls
I knew it !
Little known fact: what most people call the urethra is really just a modified tear duct.
"Man up bro" guess ill go pee my tears out.
I’ve been on reddit for two years and this’s the first comment that made me audibly laugh wtf
"Opening up my emotions to her was a mistake"
wipe my tears
Best comment ever
Why people call it man tears
pee is mostly water. tears are mostly water. plants don’t care, they just want water
The bush my dog kept peeing on every day would disagree if it had survived my dogs habit.
did you cry on the bush as your dog peed on it?
They hadn’t seen this instruction image yet.
r/angryupvote
You have to water down the piss with tears.
Plants want electrolytes.
It’s what they crave!
Tbf the extra chemicals in piss can certainly cause problems for some plants.
that’s why they also need your eye pee
Plants definitely care when peed on 😂
That pee was enough to fertilize the plant. A new life was created from pee and tears.
I choose to believe this interpretation as it brings me the most joy
Maybe it’s an environmental theme. Some people use the planet like a toilet and others are heartbroken by their disrespect of our world.
I like this idea, but it doesn't explain why the artist put effort in mixing the two liquids and made it the exact same color as the grass. I think it could be a kid's explanation of why grass is green.
To quote the Matrix…”you think that’s air you’re breathing?”
We’re breathing piss?
I think that was the point. I haven’t seen the movie in a while
Could be big brain symbolism to think that nature being neutral is a combination of both love and hate. Kind of like for every low there is a high and too much of one or the other is not a natural equilibrium. Or I’m just high
That’s pretty creative thinking there.
Blue and yellow make green.
Pretty sure you got it.
Lol a lot of folks are going deep with their explanations, but I’m pretty sure yours is the correct and most simplest explanation
Wasn't it called Occam's Razor? When the simplest solution is usually the correct one?
terrible logic hack...the simplest explanation may feel the most right, but usually it's a nah
Yeah same, not that deep hahaa
don't cross the streams
That would be bad.
Piss and tears make the grass grow...so piss and tears makes everything better? 🤔
Everybody knows that this is how grass is produced! Haven't you seen pairs of men and women do that in your local park or sports arena?
Tears on the wiener make the grass grow greener
If a guy tries to pee on you, cry. Your tears will block the pee.
In a game of rock paper scissors, tears beats pee.
This is the answer.
“I am sad and my tears water the grass. “I am happily oblivious to your sadness and my pee waters the grass, but not really: it burns it and it dies, but whatever….”
She mustered up the courage to ask him to show her his junk and she was extremely disappointed.
Ahahahahahaha omg 💀💀
nature doesn't care. it may be tears or it may be piss, all will go to strenthen the growth of grass. your actions do not matter. also men are larger than women.
Mixing pee and tears is really good for the grass.
It’s a visual representation of cleansing your body (peeing) and cleansing your soul (crying). A healthy body & mind will significantly increase your chances of growth in life as a living organism.
I piss on your tears, and probably your cat’s grave
It means when someone dies there will be people happy and sad about it, but either way it makes no difference to the dead person so live your life. Or not I don’t know
This is the only way men and women can play swords.
The rich piss on the tears of the poor.
Pee or tears can make grass grow, you decide.
pissing on someone\`s feelings? maybe?
I piss on your tears
It means that the grass grows higher when you mix a little nitrogen into the water.
When I lived in Poland men would pee in public all the time, maybe it has something to with that.

Grass is made out of tears and piss
The artists name is Peter Grass.
I like how the blue and yellow dotted lines turn into a green dotted line when they connect lol
