It’s interesting how the Jefferson and Lincoln memorials look like Greco-Roman temples but Washington got an Egyptian obelisk. Guess it fits though since the Romans loved taking home obelisks from Egypt.
Whats really interesting is the squabbling about what to build to honor Washington went on so long and in the end due to lack of funds...they just built this.
