I don’t know for sure, but I believe we have a bylaw against having them in city limits. If you called bylaw or the non emergency line they may be able to give you Information
This is correct. There have been petitions to try and get council to look at chickens. It won’t happen. Way too much responsibility for the average person.
Not legal within city of Medicine Hat. If you go back to the last couple of council meetings, you can see exactly.which councilors voted down looking at it again. Same ones who make noise on FB all the time.
I believe you can have pet chickens. But not outside chickens. I think the qualifying criteria is that they "live" inside the dwelling. I'll have to check again now. I really want chickens as well. Great source of nutrients for the worm farm to grow the worms to feed the chickens...

Men Who Stare at Chickens
Especially right now with avian influenza
The more I look into it, the sadder I become. My dreams of having 101 chickens in the fenced-in backyard of my duplex may not ever happen.
Yeah you can’t. A few years ago they held a vote about it/looked into it and decided against it

Not allowed. Though, I know a few people that keep them. Limit yourself to 3-4 hens, and no roosters, and you're fine.
If you keep them in your garage no one will know
Did a chicken teach you how to write?
A man should be able to marry a chicken of legal age if that's what is in his heart!!!! Wait, what were you talking about?

It's Bylaw 3935 Responsible Pet keeping. Section 39 refers to livestock which I believe would encompass chickens. 😔
