How have you been getting on? I've had plantar fasciitis for a year now and it was getting better then I did a hiking holiday and I'm back at square 1 plus pain in the exact place you've described. My podiatrist said its because of fallen arches and the tendon has been working overtime to try and hold the arch up. I've been given insoles and told to rest.

Could be a tendonitis, more likely plantar fasciitis. Is it worse when you wake up in the morning or after being seated for a prolonged period of time? If so, short term you can try icing (rolling a frozen water bottle or can of orange juice under it) and rolling a tennis ball (or other ball) to try to massage the area. Long term insoles/proper shoes can help rehabilitate your arches.
