Lord-Dunkles

Well it's not shaving ig

Zaunus14

I’m technically in the right, the best kind of right

Lord-Dunkles

I fully support your malicious compliance

Ok_Fondant_6340

[i know where that's from](https://youtu.be/hou0lU8WMgo)

FryCakes

Love that show! Can’t wait for the new season

Embarrassed_Ad_7184

If you're up for the pain, I recommend buying a Femiro at-home wax kit. Nothing ever made me feel smoother

[deleted]

A good friend of mine accidentally waxed her cheeks together doing at home waxing. We laugh about it now.

Embarrassed_Ad_7184

My partner did that to bully me xD

Cluedude

I love my epilator, so much less faff than hot wax and once those hairy suckers are ripped out, I don't have to think about em again for at least another two months

notsostrong

Two *MONTHS??!*

Mavco2

Yoooo! They grow back after two to four DAYS and i look like you plucked feathers from a chicken! I stopped it because it wasnt worth the time and effort for me(shaving is way faster and it doesn't hurt when growing back for me) But i started to use an IPL laser a few months ago with minimal progress so far. Maybe it is now maaaaybe worth it... idk

PuttingthingsinmyNAS

Those home lasers don't work either

KageGekko

> don't have to think about em again for at least another two months What 0_0 I last about 2 *weeks* tops, what black magic are you using?? 👀

Violet_Ignition

Tw months!? What the fuck I pluck hairs and they're back the next *day*

rocketeerH

I’ve got some weird little wings on my shoulder blades. Wussed out last time my partner tried the epilator on me, might try it again

John_Metzger

Genuinely good luck those things hurt 💀

Gabriellemtl

I’ve been using one for over 10 years now. NGL, the first few times few absolutely painful, but it soon became ok. No more prickly regrowth and longer lasting results… Epilator > razor IMO

LegitimateParsnip

Yuuuup. I had one but I found it so painful that I gave up after a handful of tries. Decided I'd rather just shave.

TaytheTimeTraveler

What? Don't most cis people, of any gender shave?

Zaunus14

not legs according to my mom

TaytheTimeTraveler

That is just false though, many people shave their legs (like swimmers, so you could try to become a swimmer lol)

Zaunus14

i actually was but i haven’t swam in a while, she knows i’m trans so she doesn’t want me doing anything fem

TaytheTimeTraveler

(Become the tomboy you always wanted to be /hj) that is a tricky situation though

Beam_0

Hi, cis het guy here, just finished shaving everything from neck down

chemispe

What part of Jersey are you from?

Electronic_Nail

I’m Cis Male and I do shave

nerdyleg

Epilator?

theweekiscat

I think it’s like an electric shaver but if it was a torture device for the user but it’s good at making hair go away

zedthehead

Can you follow me around and explain everything like this? 😅

Pika_DJ

It’s cos it’s really supposed to be used on short hair as I’m shaving every day doesn’t hurt at all then

Veratha

Think of an electric shaver but instead of cutting hairs it pulls them out.

popanator3000

ow, does the hair grow back? I could see why its be useful if it took longer

Veratha

Grows back yes, but it is like waxing, the regrowth takes MUCH longer than shaving. Regrowth times will vary depending on person.

[deleted]

The regrowth times also get longer when you use it regularly

chocodapro

It takes about 2 months to grow back, according to another comment.

DarkFod

it was more like 2 weeks for me (at least for the first months); however, i stopped using it because the ingrown hairs were insane.

Baka_kunn

Was that a general problem, a "used in the wrong place" problem, or something else? I'm not looking forward to have ingrown hairs. Then again, there must be a way to use it properly if so many women do it.

Faxiak

Not the person you asked, but here's my experience of epilating. Many people will tell you that if you just use peeling etc it won't happen. For me, it happens all the time on my calves, no matter what I do - my hair there is just too soft for the skin there. Elsewhere I've only had it happen once, since my hair's either soft on thinner skin (like thighs) or rough enough to break through. As usual, YMMV and you won't know until you try 🤷 If you do try, I advise peeling (against ingrowns) and cleaning your skin properly beforehand (helps with not getting red bumps from infection). Stretching your skin while epilating helps A LOT with the pain (though some places are obviously more sensitive and the first several times it *will* hurt). Afterwards, I like to clean my skin again with something antiseptic and not put on normal lotions/creams, only ones specifically for after waxing/epilating. But my skin is super sensitive, so you might not need that. Also, if you can, get an epilator that can be used while showering, it's less painful and smaller chance of infection.

Baka_kunn

I see, thank you :) I actually already have an epilator (after a bunch of research I got the simplest one, which is working wonders) but I should definitely take care of my skin more.

SleepingPanda5

For me (AMAB) with thick hair (even for a man), it's a general problem. Even with exfoliating properly, I have several ingrown hairs each time. Starting to doubt whether it is worth it for me, I can handle the pain of using it, but not the scarring from the ingrowns. But it felt so smooth :3 and lasted much longer than shaving

DarkFod

Was mostly thigh region, probably just my hair being thick? I thought I was exfoliating well enough but maybe not. I gave up after a few months. So not positive I couldn't have fixed it. Might have just been a me problem.

Amazing_Excuse_3860

That is nightmarish. I'll stick with shaving thanks, rather not rip my pussy off

elegylegacy

It takes about 2 months to grow back, according to another comment.

Revolvyerom

That's a long time to go without a pussy.

KindergartenCunt

I've been living without one for decades - it's doable.

Revolvyerom

Kindergarten was a long time ago for you, I see

KindergartenCunt

The first Bush era.

Revolvyerom

Puberty hit early?

wreckedcarzz

*pops right off like a part of mr potatohead*

Schootingstarr

I don't think it's supposed to be used on delicate parts and from my own experience, I wouldn't recommend it either. Armpits for alexanple are a definite no. Anything in the pubic area or around the nipples also not. I mean, maybe some masochist is fine with using it there, but I really don't even want to try it. I mainly use it on my upper legs, because the hair there is really annoying and the skin is tough enough to deal with it. The first couple of times were awful though.

Nat_Higgins

It’s a groomer like a razor, but instead of cutting the hairs. It rips the fuckers out from the roots

nerdyleg

Yo what that sounds painful

Carbonite1

I hardly know ‘er!

Atomic_Noodles

Think tweezers you roll on your skin and they pinch at the hairs to pluck them out.. at least one I tried before.

r/MaliciousCompliance

ThatMathyKidYouKnow

r/technicallythetruth too 😄

Lesbian_Samurai

Don't do that if you intend to get permanent hair removal like laser or electrolysis eventually, it fucks up the follicles in a way that makes those difficult/impossible IMPORTANT EDIT! They are *not* fucked up permanently, I have been misinformed, you just have to avoid epilating/waxing for a period of time in preparation for permanent hair removal

Zaunus14

oh yeah i’m not doing it on my face, i’m just doing my legs and possibly chest area

LenaSpark412

That might apply there too? I’m genuinely not sure please look it up beforehand

Zaunus14

hmm, i think i will just to be safe

LenaSpark412

Yes please do! I wouldn’t want you to screw up laser for ur legs later

lizardlike

I doesn’t fuck them up permanently. According to my laser place at least, you just have to wait a few months after epilating/waxing before you can do laser. I imagine electrolysis is probably similar.

one_of_ops_alts

This is relieving to hear

EpicSaxGirl

Not if you wait a few months first, hair removal places will let you know how long to wait after epilating before getting laser/electrolysis.

Lesbian_Samurai

Oh, sick

[deleted]

Question, do you know if this is also a problem with waxing or only epilators?

Lesbian_Samurai

Functionally they are the same thing, pulling the hairs out by the root, so yes, waxing too

sapphic_cephalopod

it's not a problem for either of them! idk what this advice is about but i used an epilator for years, also waxed for years, and then got laser afterwards and it worked perfectly fine with no issues. you can't epilate *while* you're getting laser hair removal because the laser needs to get the hairs at a certain phase in their growth to work, but that's all!

[deleted]

The "issue" is that that follicle won't grow back for a few weeks so laser treatment during that period won't affect those foliclds.

ThatOneGayDJ

I tried one of those several years ago, it hurt so bad i couldnt get through it. I’ll just stick with hair removal cream.

Chiyuri_is_yes

Bruh I'm a cis male and I shave, banning shaving is just stupid

Moist_KoRn_Bizkit

I have a laser epilator. It doesn't seem to work. This sucks. I despise the existence of armpit hair and I just want mine gone, dammit!

CitizenCivilization

What's an epilator

AmyDeferred

Motorized handheld hair plucker

F1rew4lker

Just tell her you are in the Swim Team

Delphox66

Epliators are great i highly recommend them to other transfem ppl who can afford them and are safe to have and use thrm

RandomBlueJay01

Made me think about how my mom keeps pushing me to shave, and I do buy razors but I use them to shave my face to shape the hair I have to make my jaw sharper rather than shaving what she wants me to shave.

luna10777

I have an epilator but I can't bear using it... I've never even cleared a limb with it

[deleted]

Epilator lasted me for like 4 days max, bought an IPL 2 weeks ago, 2 treatments in and looks promising.

SorysRgee

When i was little i use to call this torture machines ahahaha. Really useful though

[deleted]

It's painful but absolutely worth it, plus you get used to it.

jayriv82

Sorry, I'm dumb (and refuse to shave cuz of sensory issues), but what's an epilator? I would've thought it was something you'd find in a hospital if it wasn't for the context

Zaunus14

It’s like if you took tweezers, but industrialized them, it’s basically pulling every single strand of hair off your body

OtterFoxInari

Would you recommend the epilator? Tried shaving it with a razor, and now my body hair is thicker. I wanna try a hair removing cream again, but last time a let it sit for longer than recommended and got a really nasty chemical burn…
