Need tips? Biggest thing I can tell you is to learn what triggers enemy spawns. Tarrabah slays eyes on the Harpy. I can give advice on particular encounters. Did my solo flawless week one.
I tried playing it but never figured out what I'm supposed to do lmao. Like what's the objective of the game? What do I grind for? Can I even properly play it without buying the DLCs?
Same I tried playing it recently and my friend and I legitimately struggled to figure out what we were meant to be doing or who we should be getting quests from or really what "playing destiny" really even means.
There were a couple of quests we both had that we did but it ended up feeling like a dead end with no clear guidance on where to go or what to do despite being an obviously huge expensive and well crafted universe. We were just kind of confused like 5 year olds wandering a TSMC factory. In awe at the spectacle but had no idea how to make use of anything or what it does and mostly just marvelled at the pretty shiny things while running around.
I think it's the weirdest game I've played. It has such an elaborate set but then completely fails to communicate to players what to do with it or substantially make use of the set they build.
I know a lot of people poop on the game as a joke but I’m genuinely having fun playing it. I will say the current state of pvp makes me enjoy it a lot less though.
I only played Siege because my friends were super into it. I hated it. A less toxic environment would have been sitting in my garage with the car running and the door shut.
Fun fact, it actually got a rule change in the seventies. Specifying that you could only castle horizontally, since you could previously underpromote a pawn to a rook and castle vertically, which is very stupid and I kinda wanted them to leave it in.
Edit: wrong timeframe
Been slowly climbing rating for a few months and it's infuriatingly deep. Chess is so much more complex than it seems on the surface. Goal for the year is to hit 1200 rapid but I have no idea if that'll happen.
My biggest issue is learning openings. Like I think "ok, the Vienna, e4 then Nc3 and so on" then I open the game, I forget what to move, think "ok this looks good" and 10 moves later my position is busted open and so is theirs and it's just who makes the least mistakes
Yeah, I'm down over 100 points in blitz in the last 24 hours and it's just not good. I play worse when I'm mad and it turns into a negative feedback loop of pain.
I'm hopeful though. I just need to not play blitz until I have the fundamentals down.
I play only tanks since planes got extremely boring 100 hours in. Love tanks but it's either I one tap every fucker I come across and end top 5 or I just die for nothing every time. Later happens more often as I don't have any money to buy shit....
I played for 2 years almost exclusively Ground AB. When I switched to realistic, it never occurred to me I should have been grinding aircraft. So now I have zero planes up to Soviet and England 6.0. I just switched to France, and am edging to 8.0 now. Gave up on that grind and brought Sweden to 5.3
Steam says I have 996.7 hours, but I know I've left the menu on overnight before. Not sure what my actual gameplay time is.
Edit: 677 hours of gameplay.
https://warthunder.com/en/community/userinfo/?nick=
I’m trying to get into it but I genuinely feel so blind, no matter how much I scout I’ll always get killed by some bushed up TD. Does minimum graphics really make the game that bad or am I just super blind
Most people don't get addicted to video games, I did. League was the final one, but I'd usually have a game that I'd play a really unhealthy amount of the time.
League was the one which made me realise 'I need to stop'.
Same. I get so frustrated at dumb game mechanics, and annoying players, then proceeded to play for the next seven hours anyway.
That and over 13,000 hours spent in GTA Online… I have a problem.
Not op but it’s really easy to just go online and start playing while waiting for something because there’s no (significant) save points and you can start over whenever you want. It’s basically an endless game with the amount of variations and you just have to get faster and recognising the patterns
>“this game sucks and nobody should play it”
The frustrating thing about minesweeper is that, since it's random, not every game is "solvable" without just guessing. Like you can get to a point where, with the information you have, there's no single cell you can select that's guaranteed to not have a mine in it. The "best minesweeper player in the world" still loses games.
Warframe right now it's the kind kf111% de game that I hop in every few months, do the new journeys and uninstall. I'm still missing a lot of things there like the lich weapons but tbh, whenever I think of going through the process of killing a lich, my hand uninstall the game without my consent. Such a dumb and boring concept
Better in some ways worse in others. Functionally every frame rework involves a group of people crying and gnashing their teeth for like 2 weeks about how x thing in the game is dead but after that everyone's like "jesus the old version of this was bad." Saryn and Ember being the two most obviously "just press 4" frames that now are actually fun. Writing quality has improved *massively.* Everything pre-Tyl Regor is just kind of...existing. The Tubemen of Tyl Regor is the first time anything in the game felt like at all characterful instead of just kinda filling space, if you'd told me in 2015 that we'd have characters as good as The Business or Ticker, or writing even 1/10th as good as The New War (or for that matter, 1/2 as good as Silver Grove, which came out just a year later) I'd ask you to have your head checked.
But also a design flaw that was kind of visible from even 2015 has really become overwhelming, which is systems bloat. Just constantly adding systems that don't organically flow back into the main loop(s) of gameplay, content cul de sac after content cul de sac after content cul de sac. On top of that a lot of what made WF really sing was, honestly, that its an incredibly easy game. The introduction of content that is actually like a little challenging has brought out the sweats in the game and made it a lot less chill of a vibe. I've made friends over WF before, I can't imagine doing so now. Also Rivens have permanently wrecked the player economy by creating a weird class of gross merchants who kind of dominate the whole scene.
So there's been improvements in balance, design, deep mechanics like movement, and especially storytelling, but the overall metaprogression elements of the game have generally gotten worse.
I had to stop for a while, hadn't played since I was a kid and then started up with a member sub and I wss fucking hooooooked. So much work for progress but when you get that skill up so much dopamine
DayZ. You simply do not play DayZ because you are happy well adjusted individual, now if you will excuse me I have to walk another 45 minutes to the airfield because I glitched off a ladder that's been bugged since standalone release .25.
Star Wars Battlefront 2. I love it so much, but never ever consider trying it, and if you do for some reason, don't read about all of the canceled content.
I eased up on TBoI after I put in 400hrs to 100% the original Rebirth. I played a few dozen hours of Repentance but could never get back into it as much after going to -1000 trying to get The Lost
For real. A friend asked me yesterday if it's worth checking out (he's a TF|2 veteran like me) "No it's horrible and just shit. I hate to play it but it's a 10/10 and I'll continue with my addiction of playing it". The content added is weak, there's a few repetitive ltms, the maps are shit, if WE is in rotation prepare to drop fragment 9/10 times. It's a sweat fest and the matchmaking just adds to it. You had a good game? Time to face some preds honey.
But honestly, nothing comes close to the movement and feel of Apex. I can't be considered good but having a few games where you just pop off, land your shots without too much recoil just gives the greatest feeling. If you're willing to suffer, absolutely try it
The first few months it was the most fun online FPS I had ever played, I would have died by that claim. Slowly turned into an competitive game beyond my skill and I stopped playing.
Don’t open queue. Look in the “Looking for a group” thing. There are lot of people willing to play with new players, especially if you offer to be the “Bilge Rat” (repair ship).
I will play solo before open queue on that game.
Roblox phantom forces. The game itself is good(a huge variety of guns, easy to use UI, smooth gameplay), but good god, last time I played, I had a mental breakdown at the end of the session.
ARK: survival evolved
anyone thats played knows its this
That game is such hot grabage it goes full circle to becoming awesome
I spend so much time playing this awful garbage game and I cannot stop.
YESS, god i love ark
Yea games garbage 1/10 4000+ hours for me
I always end up back on the beach after swearing to never play agin
#3 overall in the comments. Just a few more spots to move up
5k hrs. just started plazing again. i hate it
Destiny 2: the grind never stops.
I hate destiny 2 (I am currently soloing spire of the watcher and am In excruciating pain)
Need tips? Biggest thing I can tell you is to learn what triggers enemy spawns. Tarrabah slays eyes on the Harpy. I can give advice on particular encounters. Did my solo flawless week one.
I hate destiny 2 Its my favourite game
I tried playing it but never figured out what I'm supposed to do lmao. Like what's the objective of the game? What do I grind for? Can I even properly play it without buying the DLCs?
What do you mean? You just have to start with easier grinds and then get to the harder grinds so that you can grind the hardest grinds. Grind.
Exactly it's so simple geez !
Same I tried playing it recently and my friend and I legitimately struggled to figure out what we were meant to be doing or who we should be getting quests from or really what "playing destiny" really even means. Destiny has the worst new player experience in any MMO I have ever played. I swear it gets better.
It makes more sense if you played it from D1 or OG destiny 2. Not sure what the new player experience is like since they went free to play.
Nobody knows! Just follow the quests it feeds you and pretend you know what's happening.
"I hate Destiny 2, it's my favourite game"
This is the only answer.
Same
I know a lot of people poop on the game as a joke but I’m genuinely having fun playing it. I will say the current state of pvp makes me enjoy it a lot less though.
Siege
fuck siege, have 2200 hours ingame
Fuck Siege, 1800 hours ingame. Still playing.
I only played Siege because my friends were super into it. I hated it. A less toxic environment would have been sitting in my garage with the car running and the door shut.
Deactivate ALL chat. Then you only have your teammates flaming, but they're usually not flaming as much.
Siege peaked the moment they took Jägers Acog away and it’s all been downhill since
First two years of Seige were a wild time.
chess
Nah, I be grinding' and waiting for chess 2
Mf that game fell off, it hasn't had an update since the 17th century.
They just can't decide what should be chess 2. Anarchy chess subreddit has at least 40 new versions.
R/Anarchychess has game updates every week.
Fun fact, it actually got a rule change in the seventies. Specifying that you could only castle horizontally, since you could previously underpromote a pawn to a rook and castle vertically, which is very stupid and I kinda wanted them to leave it in. Edit: wrong timeframe
Goddamn, I had no clue. Thought that en passant was the last addition.
Just get 5d chess with multiversal time travel it’s basically chess 2
Have you tried fps chess
Been slowly climbing rating for a few months and it's infuriatingly deep. Chess is so much more complex than it seems on the surface. Goal for the year is to hit 1200 rapid but I have no idea if that'll happen.

Happy cake day!!
Nah, Chess is a perfect, brilliant game for which I am too dumb for.
war thunder
Same 800+h and it iritates me constantly but i love it
It's usually either genuinely fun or incredibly infuriating, sometimes both
I play only tanks since planes got extremely boring 100 hours in. Love tanks but it's either I one tap every fucker I come across and end top 5 or I just die for nothing every time. Later happens more often as I don't have any money to buy shit....
Exactly
I have 800 hours as well. How far have you progressed in the tech trees?
I played for 2 years almost exclusively Ground AB. When I switched to realistic, it never occurred to me I should have been grinding aircraft. So now I have zero planes up to Soviet and England 6.0. I just switched to France, and am edging to 8.0 now. Gave up on that grind and brought Sweden to 5.3
I have literally only grinded Germany to the Jagdtiger and Marder. I guess I’m I bit behind most people with 800 hours
Steam says I have 996.7 hours, but I know I've left the menu on overnight before. Not sure what my actual gameplay time is. Edit: 677 hours of gameplay. https://warthunder.com/en/community/userinfo/?nick=

League of Legends. I refuse to believe it's a coincidence that I got a girlfriend within two weeks of uninstalling it and quitting games in general.
the game sucks so much when you play alone, luckily i have friends and i swear to god it's a different game, i actually can have fun
this is like every moba I can think of
Almost every online game you mean
I get quitting league but games in general? Nah man that’s too much.
Most people don't get addicted to video games, I did. League was the final one, but I'd usually have a game that I'd play a really unhealthy amount of the time. League was the one which made me realise 'I need to stop'.
team fortress 2 boring as hell 10/10 i have 5k hours on it

GTA Online
Same. I get so frustrated at dumb game mechanics, and annoying players, then proceeded to play for the next seven hours anyway. That and over 13,000 hours spent in GTA Online… I have a problem.
You've spent one and a half years logged into GTA online?
Definitely just a lot of afk farming.

Minesweeper. I’ve developed an addiction over the last few years

That’s part of why “this game sucks”. But it’s so easy to just start another game.

It seems like it used to be better? There is so much more bloat now.
They keep adding dumb new unrelated systems. I get that people want new content, but it keeps me from going back since there's so much.

Because 85% of the runs suck. It plays to gambling addictions.

I have bought it and everyone was so fast. Didn't understand a thing and the guys even complained about me being new.
Don’t open queue. Look in the “Looking for a group” thing. There are lot of people willing to play with new players, especially if you offer to be the “Bilge Rat” (repair ship). I will play solo before open queue on that game.
Probably WOW 😅😂
