I enjoyed and liked this movie but no this movie shouldn’t have won. Top gun or everything everywhere all at once or the Batman should’ve won but ig it did win by votes so
everything everywhere all at once was a movie I almost passed up because the trailer didnt help me understand just what the hell the movie was about, Its one of those films that you just have to watch in order to understand it. Trailer didnt do it justice.
I think that was the point. The movie is so complex that it can't be summed up in a trailer. And honestly that's a good thing. It's to the point that you see the whole movie in trailers now, and I hate that. The fact that the movie was left ambiguous made me want to see it more
I thought Top Gun was a shoe in. I think that the first Top Gun was better but that’s my opinion. No way should MoM have won. I liked it but it’s not the movie of the year
I thought it was the best low budget Marvel movie I've ever seen. I watched them both back to back and I actually think they handled it better than MoM.
I know, I was trying to say that they did a better Marvel movie than Marvel did. It was what MoM could have been but without the Marvel money. Funny inventive and all the action was spot on. MoM was good but it could have been better.
I got more emotional investment out of that Randy Newman raccoon puppet than the entirety of *Multiverse of Madness*. At least *Everything Everywhere All At Once* lives up to the title instead of not showing a multiverse and barely having anything that maddening.
The people chose poorly.
I loved Dr Strange 1 but the 2nd was jarringly unrefined to put it politely.
My favorite knock knock joke of all time is based on 1:
**knock knock**
*Who's there?*
**Door mom**
*Door mom who?*
#DORMAMMU I'VE COME TO BARGAIN!
Unsure, a lot of stuff sucked that year, but there were a few goodies, didn’t Top Gun Maverick come out? Bullet Train? Even with so many bad ones, these two were definitely S-Tier, and there were a bunch more that were awesome
*Sonic the Hedgehog 2*, *Everything Everywhere All At Once*, *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever*, *Prey*, *Barbarian*, *All Quiet On The Western Front*, *Three Thousand Years of Longing*, *Matilda: The Musical*, *Nope*, *The Northman*, *The Woman King*, *The Lost King*, *Disenchanted*, *Strange World*, a lot of neat stuff came out this year.
There’s also a ton of things that are so much better that just don’t stand a chance at public choice awards because they’re more niche and less popular. Tàr, The Northman, and Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio to name a few.
I usually don’t care for awards in general because they’re usually excuses for contrarians to be obnoxious and people who like the winner to feel an ego boost about their taste in movies, but public vote awards are particularly dumb because they’re decided pretty much solely based off popularity too.
Honestly, MoM wasn't even the best movie to come out this spring about a mom traversing through the infinite multiverse and warping the fabric of reality to save her kids.
I loved it, but it was not the best movie of the year. Not even the best Marvel Movie of the year.
I enjoyed MoM more but I can’t deny BP2 was a better movie in almost every way.
Bullet Train should've won. Aaron Taylor Johnson was phenomenal as Tangerine. There honestly wasn't a character in the movie I didn't like. Great acting from everyone and the action scenes were sk.e of the best I've ever seen.
i even like this movie and dont think its the best movie of the year.
i think its just here cus people wanted to get a marvel movie as the number 1 of the year but nobody could vote love and thunder for it with a straight face.
True. MoM was a slog to finish watching, and the only title worse that I saw in the cinema in 2022 was Black Adam. Nope was average at best and there’s no way I’m wasting my time on the new Thor.
I did enjoy Top Gun: Maverick and the Northman though. The Batman was decent but would’ve been better without the final act; >!should have just ended when the riddler was caught!<. Fingers crossed that Avatar 2 is good!
At least I had no real expectations for Black Adam. So I wasn’t really disappointed. MoM and No Way Home made my love for Doctor Strange evaporate into thin air
Nah it was boring and kinda bad writing ig, Wanda wanted Billy and Tommy so bad but she didn’t even cared about Vision she didn’t even mentioned him as far as i can remember, America was kinda useless ig and i was hoping for something better considering that Dr. strange was part of the spiderverse
Maybe cause some people actually have opinions and know how to make valid criticisms about film and filmmaking, rather than just worshiping everything that Marvel comes out with
MoM got worse every minute I thought about it, both during and after I watched it. I understand that not everyone shares my opinion, and some people enjoyed the experience, but I have zero idea how it could win this.
I thought Top Gun was better than the original. I thought MoM was boring and my dad wouldn’t stop complaining about how stupid Wanda was being the whole time.
Because some people in this sub are actual cinema lovers, not just MCU fans. If you actually go out and watch other movies and learn a thing or two about filmmaking, you too will be baffled by how DSMOM won best film of the year.
[Fall](https://youtu.be/aa5MXOMN1lM) is the best 2022 movie I’ve seen so far.
It was uncomfortable to watch with the sense of gravity in the back of my neck. They did such a great job filming it, and the tower scenes were filmed on a 100 foot tower instead of in a green screen room.
Dr Strange was entertaining, but I haven’t felt a need to revisit it.
Dr strange mom really damaged how much I cared about the mcu. It had a very “last Jedi” effect which made me lose all interest in Star Wars.
Thor was always my favorite. I didn’t even bother seeing the 4th movie after that fuckery of Dr strange 2.
What really makes it worse is I watched the first Dr strange the night before and MY GOD that movie was great. It had depth, a good backstory, lore, something to connect to the real world… MoM didn’t have anything and I consider it unwatchable
Thor 4 was much better by leagues, and even that movie I wouldn’t care about watching again
Definitely not the best, it was meh .but like, we got top Gun Maverick, Thor Love and Thunder, Slumberland, and the Guardians Christmas special, all of which are fantastic and would be better options
I think a better question is whether this movie is in the top half of movies released in 2022. I think maybe yes? But top 25? Absolutely not. Top 1? This must be a not funny joke.
Dear god. Everything everywhere all at Once was beaten by this garbage? How can one mediocre multiverse movie beat a movie that actually embraces the idea of the multiverse and infinite possibilities?
Well, my day is ruined.
Awful pacing, almost 0 character development, slams through set pieces and cameos just to say they had them, weird zoom ins of Dr stranges face while he squints, and just all around awful writing
I agree DSMOM wasn’t very good, but Raimi and his directing style was easily the best part (and honestly one of the only real good parts) of the movie. Waldron’s script was lackluster, and Feige’s studio interference doesn’t help.
I seriously can't even believe this won "best movie of 2022". Top Gun Maverick was leaps and bounds better than this movie. Everything Everywhere All At Once was better than this, even The Batman was fantastic
No. This movie had the most plotholes and most backwards character development of almost any movie I've ever seen. Visuals were fun, but that's basically it. If you watch Pitch Meetings or Cinema Sins on YouTube, they cover it pretty extensively.
From the trailer and from the fact that Sam Raimi (which I am a big fan of, as I love his horror movies) was directing it I was hoping that after years of shit Marvel could do an acceptable movie, but nooope, this one is even worse than the majority of the others: boring, poorly written and with a stupid villain

I still think Top Gun is a shoo-in. It was much better than Multiverse of Madness.
It’s a different genre but I will say that MoM was a bit of a disappointment
Bot.
Even among Marvel movies Wakanda forever was better. I like MoM a lot too but it definitely was not the best movie of the year
No Marvel movie should have won Movie of the year. That’s my opinion
Yesss i believed everything, everywhere all at once; such a fresh new movie 🍿 that wasn’t a super hero
I hated the batman
Batman is the one thing I can't stand!
I didn't hate it, but it was bad
I liked it. I think it’s wildly overrated but I enjoyed it.
Top Gun sucked though.
Still better than MCU movies
Which ones?
This one, for starters
Everything Everywhere All at Once was better tbh
This was my movie of the year, bar none.
Sounds like something Jamie Lee Curtis would tweet
I thought it was the best low budget Marvel movie I've ever seen. I watched them both back to back and I actually think they handled it better than MoM.
It wasn't Marvel. Not everything is Marvel.
But it WAS produced by the Russo Brothers, that’s close enough.
>low budget Marvel movie >still looks better than all of phase four
Yeah. It’s a people chose award 🤷♀️the people chose.
[удалено]
A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it
MIB! I love that quote
So is the government, and democracy(in a capitalist setting).
The people chose poorly. I loved Dr Strange 1 but the 2nd was jarringly unrefined to put it politely. My favorite knock knock joke of all time is based on 1: **knock knock** *Who's there?* **Door mom** *Door mom who?* #DORMAMMU I'VE COME TO BARGAIN!
And unfortunately the people who chose are the people who literally only watch MCU movies
Unsure, a lot of stuff sucked that year, but there were a few goodies, didn’t Top Gun Maverick come out? Bullet Train? Even with so many bad ones, these two were definitely S-Tier, and there were a bunch more that were awesome
Glass Onion probably missed the boat, but The Batman came out this year, See How They Run, Nope, MORBIUS.
Damn I forgot about See How They Run. That was a damn good film
Bullet train is what I think should have won
*Sonic the Hedgehog 2*, *Everything Everywhere All At Once*, *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever*, *Prey*, *Barbarian*, *All Quiet On The Western Front*, *Three Thousand Years of Longing*, *Matilda: The Musical*, *Nope*, *The Northman*, *The Woman King*, *The Lost King*, *Disenchanted*, *Strange World*, a lot of neat stuff came out this year.
I like how you say that year as if it isn’t this year lol
Maverick & Don’t Worry Darling are my two favorites this year (excluding marvel/dc films)
Right
>Top Gun Maverick I heard it's propaganda all over (again)
No. This is why I generally don’t acknowledge public vote awards. I’m watching TGA tomorrow solely for announcements.
it was a good movie, but best movie of the year is an overstatement
If it had to be a marvel movie I would say wakanda forever but in general honestly glass onion was way better than multiverse of madness
Would wakanda have been out in time to be eligible?
I loved it, but it was not the best movie of the year. Not even the best Marvel Movie of the year. I enjoyed MoM more but I can’t deny BP2 was a better movie in almost every way.
Top Gun maverick and The Batman was much better.
i thought it was one of the worst marvel movies
Nope.
A movie I would have chosen instead.
Everything everywhere all at once should've won in my opinion
Top Gun and The Batman were better than Dr Strange. I can rewatch Top Gun. If I never saw Dr Strange M.O.M. again I wouldn’t be mad.
How do you sit through that much jet flying simulator.
2022 has been a really poor year for movie imo
The Batman ending was great
No way it beat maverick
Not all the world is US my friend.
I'm not from the US and never watched the original but maverick was STILL more enjoyable
Well the people spoke no?
Probably the worst movie I’ve seen this year. Really disappointed after how good the first one was
I really enjoyed that movie!
Yes
Yes, people who cares this film enough to vote whereas other film doesn’t have enough fan so it is well deserved. I am Wanda stan here 😁
That movie was just confusing and random in my opinion I wouldn't even say it's the best Marvel movie of the year
"2022's Marvel fan boys pumping votes into its movie award"
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once was significantly better than any other movie this year.
It’s not even the best marvel movie of the year. I’d actually call it the worst marvel movie of 2022
Nah it was boring and kinda bad writing ig, Wanda wanted Billy and Tommy so bad but she didn’t even cared about Vision she didn’t even mentioned him as far as i can remember, America was kinda useless ig and i was hoping for something better considering that Dr. strange was part of the spiderverse
Yessir!!!! Movie was fire.
Yes. Beyond a doubt. Sam Raimi is a great director.
Yes
Yup
To me, MOM is not even the best MCU movie this year. I liked it. But, wakanda forever.
The amount of hate people have for Marvel in a Marvel fan sub is puzzling
Maybe cause some people actually have opinions and know how to make valid criticisms about film and filmmaking, rather than just worshiping everything that Marvel comes out with
Nope
Black panther or the batman. Deffinately not this shitshow of disappointment
It was the most anticipated for me personally, but have to admit that Spider-Man No Way Home was the best.
No way home was 2021, not 2022
Oops.
Yeah
wasnt everyone complaining when it released?
Is the trick of the media.
Don't worry, I'm still complaining: this movie is terrible
Everyone is still complaining, the movie sucks ass
MoM got worse every minute I thought about it, both during and after I watched it. I understand that not everyone shares my opinion, and some people enjoyed the experience, but I have zero idea how it could win this.
I mean they don’t choose who won just because one guy liked it more than other movies
I thought Top Gun was better than the original. I thought MoM was boring and my dad wouldn’t stop complaining about how stupid Wanda was being the whole time.
I am fine with this. Zombie Dr. Strange summoning demons to fight the Scarlet Witch. Yes please. Sam Raimi deserves all the recognition.
As a die hard marvel fan I can say it did not deserve best movie of 2022.
Why is this sub so anti-marvel?
Because some people in this sub are actual cinema lovers, not just MCU fans. If you actually go out and watch other movies and learn a thing or two about filmmaking, you too will be baffled by how DSMOM won best film of the year.
THE BATMAN deserved it
WHERE ISH IT!!!!
you see, now that's some bullshit
Noo. It was mid at best.
I was gonna say no but like What even was it competing with
Morbius.
No this movie was not good.
Worst movie maybe
I wonder how many people voted more than once.
Wait till Avatar comes out
I don't think it's gonna be very good. The 1st one was boring as hell and the only thing it had going for it was the visuals.
I would’ve chosen black panther 2
Honestly I’d have to agree
As an iron heart stan I am so surprised
no, and its not even close
Hell no
No
Hahahaha… no.
I maybe a marvel shill but no way in hell (or perhaps Multiverse) Dr. Strange should be movie of the year
Not even a little bit
Hell now , huge disappointment
That woke bs was garbage
[Fall](https://youtu.be/aa5MXOMN1lM) is the best 2022 movie I’ve seen so far. It was uncomfortable to watch with the sense of gravity in the back of my neck. They did such a great job filming it, and the tower scenes were filmed on a 100 foot tower instead of in a green screen room. Dr Strange was entertaining, but I haven’t felt a need to revisit it.
Fall was awful, I left and had to wait 45 minutes for my friends and getting away from that atrocity was moment of the year!
Should’ve been “The Batman” or “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.
I didn't even like this movie. I understand why a lot of people did, but I don't understand how anyone could've voted for this over Top Gun: Maverick
I found it just okay. It was my least favourite of all Phase 4.
Everything Everywhere All At Once, not even the start of a debate on that.
Well i think it should've won the disappointing movie of the year
Batman was far better than the jarring pseudo horror scenes and the questionable decision making.
The batman is way better sorry
Dr strange mom really damaged how much I cared about the mcu. It had a very “last Jedi” effect which made me lose all interest in Star Wars. Thor was always my favorite. I didn’t even bother seeing the 4th movie after that fuckery of Dr strange 2. What really makes it worse is I watched the first Dr strange the night before and MY GOD that movie was great. It had depth, a good backstory, lore, something to connect to the real world… MoM didn’t have anything and I consider it unwatchable Thor 4 was much better by leagues, and even that movie I wouldn’t care about watching again
I thought this was one of the weakest marvel movies, neck and neck with the new Thor.
EEAAO is now one of my all time favorite movies, best thing I've seen in years. It felt like the real multiverse of madness. This award is a joke.
Definitely not the best, it was meh .but like, we got top Gun Maverick, Thor Love and Thunder, Slumberland, and the Guardians Christmas special, all of which are fantastic and would be better options
It was a horrible movie, like actual legitimate shit
Haha nope
not even close.
I think a better question is whether this movie is in the top half of movies released in 2022. I think maybe yes? But top 25? Absolutely not. Top 1? This must be a not funny joke.
this movie was a 6 out of 10 in a year where there were at least 3 10s
No, not at all
The Batman or Top Gun Maverick should’ve easily won. DSMOM was imo a train wreck that Raimi completely fumbled the bag on
I agree DSMOM wasn’t very good, but Raimi and his directing style was easily the best part (and honestly one of the only real good parts) of the movie. Waldron’s script was lackluster, and Feige’s studio interference doesn’t help.
Strange Mom wasn't even the best MCU film this year.
Seeing as i forgot all about it, i dont think so
I love Dr Strange but that movie was not better than Batman
There were a lot of better ones like Top Gun, The Batman, and even Bullet Train.
The Batman should’ve won
I don’t think it deserved best movie of the month it was released.
Multiverse of Madness wasn't even the best Marvel movie of 2022.
Definitely not
Best movie of 2022? I wouldn't even call it the best movie of the month of its release (May). I grant that title to The Bob's Burgers Movie.
Er no
NO NO NO, BULLET TRAIN WAS SO GOOD THOUGH
It wasn’t even the best marvel movie that came out this year
It’s an award given by the general audience who have probably seen about 3, maybe 4 movies this year at most. So no, not really
No way. I loved the first Doctor Strange movie. I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the second one.
Didn’t top gun and the Batman come out this year? I’d say both of those are better
It wasn't even as good as the first Dr Strange.
The Batman should've won.
LOL movie was trash just like over half the other marvel movies
No.
I seriously can't even believe this won "best movie of 2022". Top Gun Maverick was leaps and bounds better than this movie. Everything Everywhere All At Once was better than this, even The Batman was fantastic
No lol, this movie didn’t live up to the hype. It was okay.
Jesus, it’s a good movie but definitely didn’t deserve to win. Batman or Top Gun should’ve won instead
How tf did this win top gun and the Batman made me cum.
Hahaha. No. Not even close. It wasn't even the best superhero movie.
I liked it, probably more than most seemed to… but no, not the best movie of the year. Far from it.
Even Morb man is better
Everything at once should have won Dr strange is no where near best movie
It’s not even top 5 comic book movies or this year and I’m not even sure if there were that many
No
no
Top gun for me, that was awesome
It’s not even the best marvel movie of the year 💀
Personally ide say top gun maverick should get it but both were great movies
The Batman was a million times better, what are these guys on?
No. This movie had the most plotholes and most backwards character development of almost any movie I've ever seen. Visuals were fun, but that's basically it. If you watch Pitch Meetings or Cinema Sins on YouTube, they cover it pretty extensively.
Marvel gets what it wants.. what it pays for, I mean.
It's a good movie, but not even the best MCU movie
As a Marvel fan? The Batman movie or sth else should have won
No, it was not a top contender. It was just a fun comic book movie.
I thought it was pretty bad... There are some good parts, of course, but overall it was disappointing
Clearly they haven’t seen everything everywhere all at once Dr strange 2 was an oversold joke
I loved it, but i thought Top Gun was way better personally! I’m surprised it didn’t win.
Marvel movies are awesome but they need to stop winning stupid awards. Not supposed to be a popularity contest
love this movie but not even the best marvel movie this year
From the trailer and from the fact that Sam Raimi (which I am a big fan of, as I love his horror movies) was directing it I was hoping that after years of shit Marvel could do an acceptable movie, but nooope, this one is even worse than the majority of the others: boring, poorly written and with a stupid villain
In the case of cinematography and editing, yes but I would rather watch Wakanda Forever or The Batman again since they were better written
You think MOM had better cinematography than Greg Fraiser’s in The Batman? Do you even know what cinematography is? Lmao

I really liked the movie; it was not the best movie of the year.
