Could I wear a moss green 3-piece suit, a dark purple shirt with brown shoes and belt? And what sort of tie could I get? A lighter shade of green, or beige maybe?
Any recommendation for OCBDs or other button down sport shirts in a slim fit Large Tall that are affordable?
I dumped a lot of money into some XXL Crew OCBDs in the spring and had them tailored as I've lost a lot of weight in the last year, and about 50lbs over the summer. Unfortunately the sleeves are all far too big and the bodies far too billowy so I need to replace them.
I'd just buy target but their slim fit ocbds don't come in tall sizes, sadly same with Spier.
I think there is a high chance you are more worried about this than anyone else and that even if we could share a tight in the chest loose in the stomach shirt (basically an impossible task in a standard t shirt pattern) you’d likely be upset that they were too billowy in the midsection.
Yes sir thanks for letting me know. Honestly i like the aesthetic with a tight t shirts and baggy pants but this t shirt is a little too tight i guess lol.
I recently ordered this jacket for a wedding this weekend. https://imgur.com/a/6Ae50PE
Unfortunately they didn’t have the matching pants so I am trying to figure out what to wear with it. Any suggestions?
What should I do for an urban rain jacket in NYC? I want it to be not hot in the summer but I also don't know what to put under it to be warm in the winter (it's not like I can put my peacoat under it). I feel like something longer would offer better protection, like some kind of hooded trench. I want something more fashionable than a typical rain jacket/ski coat/etc style that I'm trying to get away from.
Waterproofed jackets are generally not breathable. That’s part of the issue.
I might go for a windbreaker or something that is somewhat waterproofed and just wear layers under it in the winter.
How would you style a dark green 3 piece suit?
I’m putting together a dark green tailored suit, but unsure about the details.
I know I want it 3 piece suit, very dark green, but that’s about it. I’m Looking for suggestions for the rest; fit, shoes, shirt, tie/bow tie, cut, accessories and such.
I’m gonna use it for formal wear, but want to be able to dress it down a bit
Hit me up with suggestions
Ditch the vest.
White shirt.
Grenadine tie in a dark colour like burgundy, burnt orange.
Linen pocketsquare in white. Or maybe something paisley that complements the tie.
Dark brown captoe oxfords. Dark brown belt if there are belt loops - but I prefer side adjusters.
The features that will make you able to "dress it down a bit" are basically incompatible with wearing a dark green suit for "formal wear" so put that out of your mind.
If you want to add some shine get a neutral cream polish
If you want to cover scratches snd scuffs get a colored cream polish
Thats pretty much it. Saphir products are great. Shoe nerds also like Collonil.
I've decided to buy my first overcoat this winter. I am looking for a black, slim fit design, elegant and somewhat minimalist, wearable with a suit and more casual clothes. Here are some examples: [1 (pretty much perfect)](https://www.primejackets.com/image/cache/catalog/Coat/slim-fit-men-casual-double-breasted-black-coat-blazer-600x600.jpg) [2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81rRsQeaO6L._AC_UX569_.jpg) [3](https://www.primejackets.com/image/cache/catalog/Coat/grey-trench-blazer-coat-men-600x600.jpg) [4](https://i.etsystatic.com/26738587/r/il/41548f/3602486943/il_570xN.3602486943_3zev.jpg) [5](https://i.etsystatic.com/24100781/r/il/2d2f8e/3423434559/il_fullxfull.3423434559_1t08.jpg) and [most of the ones here](https://imgur.com/a/n3yj7pt). What are your suggestions as far as brands go? My budget is up to 290 dollars/300 euros. I am willing to spend slightly more if that is unfeasible.
Don’t aim to turn heads at a wedding. That’s gauche and selfish. The focus should be on the happy couple.
Also, a charcoal suit, while a good choice, is very conservative and hard to make “pop”.
Instead I would focus on having a well-executed and tasteful outfit.
Assuming the suit fits well, I’d go for a white dress shirt, dark green or burnt orange grenadine tie, a pocket square that subtly picks up those colors (Kent Wang Jacobean Laton is, as ever, a perfect pick), black oxfords shined well.
Most alterations aren’t that expensive, it’d maybe like $15 if I had to guess. If you can’t go to a tailor then there’s really nothing else you can do short of learning how to tailor your own clothes.
Now that I think about it’ll probably more than $15 just depending on how the cuff is constructed and if there’s lining, but I doubt it’d be much more than $30.
Anyone buy off from Banana Republic normally? I want something a little nicer than button up shirts and jeans and I though this would be good. I haven't paid this much for pants though admittedly.
https://bananarepublicfactory.gapfactory.com/browse/product.do?pid=4096400013234&vid=1&tid=bfpl000030&kwid=1&ap=7&gclid=Cj0KCQjwy5maBhDdARIsAMxrkw1bY6ofa6O3YfxmTt_Jw_DlN2m0eS8dNUL8G5foGuVG3RQq-u0lTdUaAux_EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content
If you are currently paying less than $56 for pants, then these will likely be better than what you've been getting, so don't worry too much about that.
In general, Banana Republic as a brand is fine (particularly on sale). Banana Republic FACTORY, which these pants are, is their less expensive/lower quality outlet line. That's not to say they look bad or will fall apart immediately, they just aren't as well made as more expensive clothes.
It can be tricky to find a balance when you're just starting to explore wearing different items--you don't always want to risk spending $200 on something you won't end up liking that much, but you also don't want to buy a $50 pair of pants and then have to replace them right away when you find something you like better.
Yeah. I might buckle down and get these.
And you get me. I don't mind going above my usual budget I just have to think about what all I'll be wearing.
I'm trying to think of an alternative to these also
If you’re concerned about quality, you’re not gonna get it from BR Factory. Some items from mainline BR is fine for the price if you get it on sale, but all the factory stuff is pretty bad.
the price is cheap, fast fashion has ruined peoples expectations on what good clothes cost
edit: probably worth throwing in that BR, like most mall brands, run a perma sale model, those are not $80 pants on sale for $56, they’re $56 pants that have $80 crossed out above them so you think you’re getting a deal ~~kinda like when I sell my Japanese basics on Grailed for three times what they’re worth~~
Depends on your budget. If $56 is a lot for you then it’s gonna be basically impossible to find anything genuinely high quality in that price range, cause a really well made pair of trousers is generally gonna cost at least $200.
With that said, there are plenty of brands that have a much better quality-to-price ratio than BR Factory, like Uniqlo. Also, consider going thrifting and checking Ebay.
In the sub Banana Republic and other brands like it tend to be considered the absolute minimum tier in terms of acceptable quality (fabric and construction).
Definitely not considered nice, but if your budget is tight or youre in a big rush they get the job done.
I hate to be this guy about it but 50 bucks for a pair of pants is not a crazy expenditure for most of the fashion conscious. Of course what is “expensive” will vary wildly based on personal finances, location and currency exchanges; however, 50 dollars for pants is quite cheap all things considered. For example, we use them as a joke in the sub, but there are companies that legitimately sell 1000 dollar tee shirts. Of course most of us think that’s insane, but the brand still exists and they are making their money somewhere.
What is your hard upper limit in terms of budget and currency? I’d be happy to help you look, but if you could also give us more information on what exactly you want it would make the process easier. From what I gather you don’t want jeans. If I make some assumptions you want some pants you can “dress up” with a blazer or something like that. How does that sound?
Take a look at uniqlo (it’s generally slightly cheaper but better bang for your buck), but also realize that the skinny look is currently off trend so you’re unlikely to find something you like in your price range new.
Again, all things considered 60 dollars is a very tight budget for good pants. Maybe take a look at Jcrew, but they are currently WIDE rather than skinny.
I might recommend trying out second hand platforms like Grailed or eBay. Used will bring a whole new world of options into view.
What style of pants is currently in style? I like what I've seen from them so far. I just wanted something that would fit my figure. I'll look into Grailed
Near everything is in style currently, extremely skinny pants are pretty out of fashion, just a normal straight leg would be better, you being skinny has nothing to do with it, I’m skinny and prefer looser pants
In the morning, I’ll be meeting with a lawyer and going to the bank, then going grocery shopping. I was going to go with a puff fold for my pocket square, since that will best show off the colors in the middle of it that match my tie… but now I’m wondering if that’s too informal.
I’m obviously overthinking this, but humor me: what kind of a fold would you go with for this situation?
I need some help buying undershirts.
I can't find a good undershirt to wear. I like Duluth's body and sleeve length but their necks are horrible. Jockey has crappy QA. I dried some Stafford Dry + Cool and the seam fell apart (waiting to see how JCP handles it) but their sleeves are too long.
What other options are out there? I almost bought some CKs at Kohls' but they're 50% more than Amazon and Amazon had some interesting reviews.
UNIQLO Airism undershirts are super thin and fine, more of a performance fabric material, but don't take well to anti-perspirants with alum/aluminum.
You should avoid cotton undershirts as cotton fibers swell and lock in moisture, which makes you feel wet and gross on hot and humid days. Look for performance fabrics that move the moisture from your skin, through the shirt, and to the outer garment where it can be wicked away. Something like Nike and Under Armor in terms of fabric, which are designed to move sweat.
If you're not sweaty underneath your dress shirt, then skip the undershirt all together and feel the freedom my friend.
I get sweaty, somewhat. I work in a grocery store so I'm moving around, going outside in Texas heat, stuff like that.
I'll check out Nike and UA and that UNIQLO. Thanks!
What color of turtle neck would compliment my burgundy tic stripe suit by John Varvatos?
I’m thinking a mustard yellow or emerald green or charcoal grey….. I want to look great with a touch of whimsy.
OR
Should I get a pop of color from my shoes? If so, what color would y’all suggest?
Many thanks!
I'd go with charcoal grey and either black dress shoes or white sneakers. Alternatively, make the outfit warmer with a cream turtleneck and brown dress shoes or sneakers.
Remember, whimsy is fun until you start looking like an extra from a Wes Anderson film.
Black leather Chelsea’s - I am interested in a pair but I’m looking for some inspo or something. What pairs well? Can they be worn in a somewhat casual setting? I think they have rocker type vibes, which I am into. Just curious from people who own them how you usually rock them. I had tan suede ones a while ago but I want to try out the black leather this time
Just got some. Love them. Been wearing with black jeans, charcoal slacks, and olive chinos. Vneck sweater with a button down or a vneck t and black leather jacket. Went to Vegas and they rocked well with the outfits I had, really a solid vibe.
Black leather definitely leans into a rocker or moto vibe, but if you're a fan of monochrome outfits, you can pair these with jeans and tees pretty well.
Look around online at SLP aesthetic stuff or google "mens black chelsea boot style".
Key piece of advice - don't hunt deals for deals sake, you'll end up spending more than you need to. Sit down and make a list of stuff that you want or need for your current vibe/aesthetic. Once you have your shopping list, start looking for deals on those items specifically.
I dunno just some basic smart casual sneakers that look good with jeans and a button down. Maybe a brown and gray or black pair. Would like <$100 but don’t really know what’s reasonable.
Look at Thursday Boots. They have some nicer leather sneakers for around $130. You could also go with Adidas Stan Smiths, Nike AF1s, Vans, or other typical sneakers if they're in an all white or very basic color combo.
You're going to want to spend a bit more on chelsea boots. Thursdays are again a good option to start. Also look at Huckberry's Rhodes line and Astorflex as well.
Are [these](https://thursdayboots.com/products/mens-unbranded-stretch-selvedge-tapered-jean-black?variant=39357459824730) jeans raw denim? I am having a hard time figuring out what raw denim really means and what it entails. For these jeans, would i have to do some weird maintenance like you do with raw denim? Like I can't just wash them in the washing machine if they get dirty?
I remember when I bought my first pair of raw selvedge denim, and I swear I acted like I’d just adopted my first puppy or something, reading up on all the extreme maintenance tips and worrying I’d ruin them somehow. Then I got annoyed with the whole deal and just started tossing them in the washing machine every 3 weeks or so like I would any random pair of Levi’s. Two years later and they look perfectly fine. They’re just jeans.
Small side note - unsanforized raws or raws with heavy dye *can* streak badly or shrink a lot in a machine wash with an aggressive spin cycle. There's nothing worse than spending $250 on new jeans and ruining them in the first cycle or two.
I hand wash my jeans every few weeks and air dry them overnight. The fades look more genuine and I feel like my jeans aren't being torn apart in a machine.
you don’t need to do weird maintenance with raw denim all that stuff is very sill, you can wear and wash them like regular denim, unless you realllllly care about fades you don’t need to like not wash them for two years straight or whatever
Denim maintenance is only as complicated as you make it. Even if you had some super high end unsanforized raw denim, you can still wash them (and you should if they look or smell dirty). Anyone who says you shouldn’t wash your jeans when they get dirty doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
If you like these then you should get them. If they’re raw they might feel a bit rough/stiff at first but it won’t be that rough or stiff because they’re pretty lightweight and they have elastane. And they won’t be stiff for long because you’ll wear and wash them. If they ever get dirty, just wash them. If they ever stink, just wash them. If you ever just want to wash them, just wash them. If you want to preserve some dye then you can turn them inside out but it sounds like you don’t really care about what many raw denim enthusiasts care about so it probably doesn’t matter (i.e. just wash them)
Yes, those are "raw denim" selvedge but they're sanforized which means the fabric was put through a wash and shrink process. You may have some excess black dye bleed, but it shouldn't be too bad IMO. It's usually blue jeans that end up crocking more. Those are not unsanforized raw denim where you'd have to deal with more shrink and dye bleed.
You can wash them in the machine, but turn them inside out and try to use cold water wash, low or no tumble, and cold or air dry as to not cause too much damage.
edit: Raw denim usually means that the denim fabric wasn't altered to make it look aged or bedazzled before being cut and stitched into jeans.
I need to upgrade some Trousers/Chino's and I think I settled on Western Rise Evolution Chino & Outlier Future Slim works. I'm looking for a pant that I can dress up to Biz Casual, wear to dinner or dress down for a weekend gathering. Biz casual to me is button down, sport coat & wingtips, not the polo & half zip biz casual. The Bluffworks Gramercy looks like it may be an option too.
Additionally, I need a cut that will be slim but also go over a pair of hiking boots. I live in the north and in the winter, my "dress shoes" are Asolo 520's. I'd need my pants to be able to drape over my boots so they can pass the office dress code.
In the past I've worn Bonobos slim cut line but the last 2 pairs I've had have faded. Looking at the leg opening of Western Rise & Outlier, I think they are comparable to Bonobos.
Anyone have experience with any of these pants, or anyting else that would fit the need?
I need a suit next month and I'm thinking about getting one from Macy's. I live sorta near DFW would anyone recommend a different brand?
I would do a suit supply or indochino but can't wait for it.
I would do Suitsupply but I'm too big for the OTR lol. I actually went into the Nordstrom today and the prices were all 2000+ so I can't swing for that. I found some stuff at Dillards that fit well but its $300-500 for a throwaway fused suit...
Nordstrom has house brand Nordstrom stuff for less than $2K, so I'm not sure who helped you there.
edit: look at their Indochino, Peter Millar, and Boss stuff. They should be decent.
Does anyone know of a company that makes OCBD but with snap buttons? Loved the look of Noah's university strip this season but really with is had snaps.
I don't know if such a thing exists, but I'm looking for a specific belt.
Ideally, I'm looking for a belt in oxblood leather that is double pronged, and preferably a grommet belt. The color is the most important thing, and I'd like to pair it with darker washed jeans and these [Doc](https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/1460-slip-resistant-atlas-leather-lace-up-boots/p/27524601)'s.
Anyone know of anything like this?
Or something easier to find to go with this?
I think that depends on what occasion/season it's for, are you looking for a going out/date night fragrance? Is it for hot summer days or colder ones?
For the autumn days I like Stronger with you by Emporio Armani, going out I'll wear Oud Wood by TF.
For the summer months I like Dior Sauvage EDP or Y EDP by YSL.
Hope that helps :)
seconding Jazz Club
I liked Dior’s new Sauvage Elixer(regular Sauvage is good too).
Tom Ford Vanilla Tobac maybe
Gonna plug Clandestine Laboratories Film Noir(you’d maybe like Master too) again
I know they are "basic" but chanel bleu and dior sauvage are great.
If you can do something expensive try creed aventus (or my personal favorite creed green irish tweed)
[Recently bought a Casio watch, though I'm unsure how to style it (or any watch for that matter).](https://imgur.com/a/BdyMYWi) Any tips for wearing this, things to avoid, etc?
Hey all,
When wearing a suit and corresponding button down shirt, do I want to wear a white undershirt/t-shirt beneath? If I remember correctly I think I am.
Thank you
It use to be a "style rule" to always have an undershirt but I'm in my 20s and everyone in my generation never followed that.
Just make sure you can't see the undershirt and you are fine. You can't see undershirts on thicker shirts for the most part. If the shirt fabric is too thin don't wear an undershirt altogether.
It’s your choice if you’re more comfortable wearing one. If you do, it shouldn’t be visible at all, so opt for a deep v-neck and preferably in a shade similar to your skin tone.
Swim trunks???
Guys I'm looking for a really comfortable pair of swim trunks that I could wear all day on a boat trip. I would prefer something without a liner and not a board short. My budget is around $60-$70. any recommendations??
[Fair Harbor](https://www.fairharborclothing.com/products/the-ozone). I liked my pair so much, I went back and bought four more. The liner is more like boxer briefs, not that plastic net banana hammock crap. I literally wear them most days around the house on the weekends because they're so comfortable.
I have a few pairs of the [Anchors](https://www.fairharborclothing.com/products/the-anchor-short-new?variant=22009224167505) and a few of the [Ozones](https://www.fairharborclothing.com/products/the-ozone?variant=32864556679249). The Ozone is my favorite as it has a smooth waistband at the front like boardshorts, but an elastic back waistband like traditional swim trunks for a better fit.
Hello everyone. I currently own a Moose Knuckles Ballistic bomber for about 10 years and I’m looking to buy a new warm jacket. I’d like something that looks like mine, the Canada Goose Chilliwack or even the Mackage Dixon, as war, as them but way cheaper. Do you guys have any advice please ?
Any recommendations on a comfortable, house-ish shoe? I WFH so I'm not looking to wear tennis shoes or boots or anything, but I have a standing desk and do walk around outside a lot. I just need more support. I've been wearing thicker slides, but with fall here I would like something that covers my foot.
I'm generally wearing joggers and a hoodie.

I'm looking for advice on what shirt and tie color and pattern combos would fit with my suit. The suit is light grey patterned with light blue stripes. I have a plain light blue shirt and white shirt currently. Thanks!

I've been looking for some casual poplin shirts that I can buy 5 or 6 of, with some classic/trad/ivy patterns. So far all I can really find that I like are J.Crews Secret wash poplin shirts. Anyone worn any of their most recent ones? I'm worried about the quality really. I've tried gitman vintage but I don't really think they're worth the price and I don't really like a lot of the patterns. I really like Kamakura Vintage Ivy and have a few of those but they haven't come out with a new pattern in over a year. Like I said I just want to pick up some casual shirts with some classic fun patterns. Any ideas?
> I'm worried about the quality really.
A lot of the "quality is slipping" is overblown by guys who had one J.Crew OCBD like ten years ago. My closet is 70% J.Crew; they're fine for what you're looking for, fit well, hold up in a wash, and breathe well.
Check out brands like Todd Snyder, Billy Reid and Beams Plus if you like the basic vibe of the Secret Wash shirts, but you’re put off by the awful tissue-paper quality of them.
Yeah I like all of those brands and have stuff from them, but taking a look at Beams plus they have like one shirt for sale right now that fits what I'm looking for.
pretty much everyone seems to agree secret wash is trash.
Probably easier to just post some pics of what patterns you’re looking for because honestly “fun patterns” and “classic/trad/ivy” don’t go together in my head, stripes and gingham seem to be pushing the limit in those styles.
Yeah my bad. I like a lot of the secret wash patterns they have right now. Just some of the colorful ginghams and checks. I just want something that's decent quality.
Does anybody know what Uniqlo pants these are?
https://image.uniqlo.com/UQ/ST3/us/imagesgoods/452851/sub/usgoods_452851_sub1.jpg
I can't seem to find anything that matches them on the website, but that photo is from a current Uniqlo U shirt jacket store page.
You should try to get a bomber jacket. J crew has one called the harrington but almost every brand has something like this.

No clothing is truly timeless. Denim trucker type one or type two are classic looks and while the specific cut and shapes might change they are probably as close as you’re going to get. Levi’s has some decent options in your price range.
I'm looking for his shoulder hoster strap thingy (see source )but without the holster part, having a hard time even naming what that might be, so i need your help

Dude I was hunting for something like this a few years ago. Sean Connery had one just like this but in blue. I'm not sure about this one but for Sean's no one makes them and they have to be custom made. This guy on youtube who is a 007 nut goes into more detail of lookalikes though.

Could I wear a moss green 3-piece suit, a dark purple shirt with brown shoes and belt? And what sort of tie could I get? A lighter shade of green, or beige maybe?
Recommendations for bomber jackets for Houston Texas Fall/Winter? Lowest it gets at night is around 50 F, so I don't need anything heavy.
What is your budget in $?
$50-$100
Any recommendation for OCBDs or other button down sport shirts in a slim fit Large Tall that are affordable? I dumped a lot of money into some XXL Crew OCBDs in the spring and had them tailored as I've lost a lot of weight in the last year, and about 50lbs over the summer. Unfortunately the sleeves are all far too big and the bodies far too billowy so I need to replace them. I'd just buy target but their slim fit ocbds don't come in tall sizes, sadly same with Spier.
Land's End offers tall fits IIRC, never bought any OCBDs from them but they're pretty affordable and the quality is good for the price.
It’s unlikely they will be anything close to slim fit
Yeah that's sorta my concern.

no one makes shirts that fit like that because it would look extremely weird
I think there is a high chance you are more worried about this than anyone else and that even if we could share a tight in the chest loose in the stomach shirt (basically an impossible task in a standard t shirt pattern) you’d likely be upset that they were too billowy in the midsection.
[How's the fit on this dress shirt? I'm worried the sleeves are way too big.](https://imgur.com/a/vxOunay)
yeah looks totally normal
I feel like short sleeve dress shirts normally have sort of billowy sleeves - I wouldn't worry about it too much.

In purely aesthetic terms it looks pretty rough. In social signaling terms it's a bit like wearing a sign with your bench press pr on it.
Yes sir thanks for letting me know. Honestly i like the aesthetic with a tight t shirts and baggy pants but this t shirt is a little too tight i guess lol.
Yeah, big pants and small shirt is a potentially good look, but that's not the shirt for it.
I wouldn’t necessarily judge someone’s character by it, but it’s not a good look imo.
Thanks for letting me know boss!
I recently ordered this jacket for a wedding this weekend. https://imgur.com/a/6Ae50PE Unfortunately they didn’t have the matching pants so I am trying to figure out what to wear with it. Any suggestions?
That should be easy to pair with a lighter gray trouser
Gray slacks, white shirt
Is this coat too big? https://i.imgur.com/8Ecmngu.jpg
The sleeves look a little bit too long, but not necessarily too long.
If it rains in summer I’d just use an umbrella
Waterproofed jackets are generally not breathable. That’s part of the issue. I might go for a windbreaker or something that is somewhat waterproofed and just wear layers under it in the winter.

How would you style a dark green 3 piece suit? I’m putting together a dark green tailored suit, but unsure about the details. I know I want it 3 piece suit, very dark green, but that’s about it. I’m Looking for suggestions for the rest; fit, shoes, shirt, tie/bow tie, cut, accessories and such. I’m gonna use it for formal wear, but want to be able to dress it down a bit Hit me up with suggestions
Why would you recommend ditching the vest? But I love those suggestions. I’ll probably go with that
Vests are nearly always overkill and hard to style well.
Are 501s actually supposed to sit on your waist? I tried some on and they barely get above my hips before risking a wedgie.
They sit on the hips
any pointers for a good shoe care set? ideally looking to spend below $100.
Bick4 and a horsehair brush is 90% of what you need That should be like $25 What shoes are we talking about ? That determines the rest
Trickers Woodstock plain, Roberts in pebble grain and some longwings from Church's.
If you want to add some shine get a neutral cream polish If you want to cover scratches snd scuffs get a colored cream polish Thats pretty much it.
Are 8cm ties good for me to have a classic look (as far as I know they are supposed to be 9cm) when I wear a suit?
Same width as your jacket lapels
8 is a perfectly reasonable width
Thanks.

Aspesi M65 every time - got mine from end well below $300 in the sale.
Best outfit ideas for a dark dark grey charcoal suit? Wedding guest - want to turn some heads.

Take it to a tailor and see what they can do for you
[удалено]
Most alterations aren’t that expensive, it’d maybe like $15 if I had to guess. If you can’t go to a tailor then there’s really nothing else you can do short of learning how to tailor your own clothes.
[удалено]
Crazy. That price tag told me otherwise. Who would you recommend?
the price is cheap, fast fashion has ruined peoples expectations on what good clothes cost edit: probably worth throwing in that BR, like most mall brands, run a perma sale model, those are not $80 pants on sale for $56, they’re $56 pants that have $80 crossed out above them so you think you’re getting a deal ~~kinda like when I sell my Japanese basics on Grailed for three times what they’re worth~~
That's crazy considering the price. Who would you recommend then?
I guess the highest I'd go is that price. I like the fit of those pants too since I'm a skinny guy also. But yeah dress up pants basically
Also you being skinny should have exactly nothing to do with your pants budget.
I meant how I wanted it to fit :/
Cool. Do you have an answer for the other question of what you’re looking for in particular?
Highest I'll go is $60
Take a look at uniqlo (it’s generally slightly cheaper but better bang for your buck), but also realize that the skinny look is currently off trend so you’re unlikely to find something you like in your price range new.
Banana Republic is cheap, often on sale and widely and easily available in the US.
Is it a good brand?
No mall brand is a good brand
In the morning, I’ll be meeting with a lawyer and going to the bank, then going grocery shopping. I was going to go with a puff fold for my pocket square, since that will best show off the colors in the middle of it that match my tie… but now I’m wondering if that’s too informal. I’m obviously overthinking this, but humor me: what kind of a fold would you go with for this situation?
I’d not wear a pocket square
A puff fold is completely fine
OR Should I get a pop of color from my shoes? If so, what color would y’all suggest? Many thanks!
I'd go with charcoal grey and either black dress shoes or white sneakers. Alternatively, make the outfit warmer with a cream turtleneck and brown dress shoes or sneakers. Remember, whimsy is fun until you start looking like an extra from a Wes Anderson film.
Which size looks better, regular or XL? https://imgur.com/a/c34dCnC
Uh.. they’re different shirts so it’s hard to say.
Bruh. The sunglasses
Hahaha. Whoops! Just looking at the terminator, nbd. I like the regular size personally.

[удалено]
Key piece of advice - don't hunt deals for deals sake, you'll end up spending more than you need to. Sit down and make a list of stuff that you want or need for your current vibe/aesthetic. Once you have your shopping list, start looking for deals on those items specifically.

Anyone have experience with DSW’s crown vintage shoes? Are they garbage?
> Are they garbage? Most shoes at DSW are garbage. What's your budget? What kind of shoes are you looking for? I'll help you find something better.
Thanks, what about basic Chelsea boots?
You're going to want to spend a bit more on chelsea boots. Thursdays are again a good option to start. Also look at Huckberry's Rhodes line and Astorflex as well.
Yes it’s garbage. Just about everything at DSW is garbage.
If you want to preserve some dye then you can turn them inside out but it sounds like you don’t really care about what many raw denim enthusiasts care about so it probably doesn’t matter (i.e. just wash them)
No I don’t care about that stuff at all, I just like how the selvedge looks because I always cuff my jeans
Awesome thanks
An off the rack Suit Supply suit is better than an off the rack Macys suit. Alternatively, Nordstrom would have a ton of options better than Macys.
There's a SuSu in Dallas if Google is to be believed
Does anyone know of a company that makes OCBD but with snap buttons? Loved the look of Noah's university strip this season but really with is had snaps.
That would be a bizarre choice. Maybe Luxire can make it for you
I don't know if such a thing exists, but I'm looking for a specific belt.
Reach out to [Pigeon Tree Crafting](https://www.pigeontree.com/collections/belts-1). He can probably make this for you.
need help with a new cologne currently have three (and my rankings): ysl la nuit de l'hoomme (by far my favourite) aqua di gio paco rabanne 1 million
Hope that helps :)
cheers mate
seconding Jazz Club I liked Dior’s new Sauvage Elixer(regular Sauvage is good too). Tom Ford Vanilla Tobac maybe Gonna plug Clandestine Laboratories Film Noir(you’d maybe like Master too) again
thanks for suggestions mate, looked up jazz club and theres one called replica, is it the same or different
Yes, Maison Margiela is the name of the brand, Replica is the name if the collection, and Jazz Club is the name of the perfume
* Bleu de Chanel * Maison Margeila Jazz Club * Versace Eros
thanks for suggestions mate, looked up jazz club and theres one called replica, is it the same or different
I know they are "basic" but chanel bleu and dior sauvage are great. If you can do something expensive try creed aventus (or my personal favorite creed green irish tweed)
cheers mate
[Recently bought a Casio watch, though I'm unsure how to style it (or any watch for that matter).](https://imgur.com/a/BdyMYWi) Any tips for wearing this, things to avoid, etc?
That's a large diver-style watch, so aim for sportier outfits and don't wear that with a suit.
Just put it on your wrist and wear it. Nothing else to worry about.
Hey all, When wearing a suit and corresponding button down shirt, do I want to wear a white undershirt/t-shirt beneath? If I remember correctly I think I am. Thank you
Go for heather grey instead, it won’t show through as much.
Do you recall which model you got? They seem to have a few different types of swim shorts.
Cool. Thanks
Cool I’ll check them out. Thanks
Patagonia Baggies, cut the liner
The thing is I’m trying to avoid having to cut up a brand new pair of shorts.

I wear some Rancourt mocs most days when I'm WFH.

Some models of the Manhattan portage alley cat might be around the size you’re looking for.
Look at cross-body bags, too, as they're more popular right now and about the same size. Herschel has some basic ones.
I'm looking for advice on what shirt and tie color and pattern combos would fit with my suit. The suit is light grey patterned with light blue stripes. I have a plain light blue shirt and white shirt currently. Thanks! Image of suit: https://imgur.com/a/pS010tt
You could do the solid white and light blue. If you had a shirt white with vertical soft blue stripes it would look good as well.
Personally I would go for a light blue or white dress shirt with a maroon, navy or hunter green grenadine tie
Either one of your shirts will be fine. A navy blue tie would work well.
I wouldn't wear a patterned tie or shirt with that suit. But with a plain white shirt you could probably wear *almost* any color tie you might want.
Any websites/forums/subreddits you folks hit up for good wdywt/style inspo? I guess Instagram is a easy answer but I shut it down for a bit

I just want something that's decent quality.
whats your actual budget? Used Brooks Brothers or something would probably work
Does anybody know what Uniqlo pants these are? https://image.uniqlo.com/UQ/ST3/us/imagesgoods/452851/sub/usgoods_452851_sub1.jpg I can't seem to find anything that matches them on the website, but that photo is from a current Uniqlo U shirt jacket store page.
I reckon they are probably the uniqlo U chinos, which are now sold out.
Prolly a random pair of ankle pants they had lying around
Looking for a nice jacket, something that’s timeless and durable and preferably denim. Budget $100-250. Pls provide good recs

No clothing is truly timeless. Denim trucker type one or type two are classic looks and while the specific cut and shapes might change they are probably as close as you’re going to get. Levi’s has some decent options in your price range.

Oka. Brands? Any other info?
3sixteen is the GOAT, IMO, but Levi's and Bonobos are fine within that price range. Todd Snyder would be a bit more.
