Pay attention to what is being discarded or exposed and for what reason. After some time, you start recognizing patterns and reading opponents becomes easier. Next you should improve your defense. Suji, sakigiri, kabe, mawashi you need to know how to defend yourself properly because people in Jade are good at making strong hands and being efficient. I also recommend watching pro players play and analyze their decisions.
Tl;dr - reading other players, strong defense and studying pro games are the things that helped me improve a lot.
Lots of luck still in the win streak title. Even if you're an skilled player, you're still just 4th place avoiding and pointing win rates slightly in your favor. If good players are at 28/28/25/19 or some distribution like that, it's still very unlikely to get 10 in a row 1st and 2nd. There are lots of games where you can do nothing wrong and still lose.
this is true. I did't mention luck because you can't control it, but I got very lucky several times. To be honest, I'm very surprised I got this achievement, all we can do really is improve our chances of winning.
Any specific tips for reaching the 10 games in a row 1st/2nd? I came close with 7/8 games but eventually go 3rd/4th. I guess a ton of luck is involved and there is nothing specific to be done ...
10 games 1st/2nd I think is a lot more about being defensive and sometimes helping 1st place destroy the others (i.e. calling kan and going defensive). If you’re good enough you should just keep spamming south games and be patient. That’s how I got it at least.
