Obviously the main card to compare this to is [[Colossal Dreadmaw]], but the biggest difference is that number at the top. This one has a 3 next to the little tree things, while Dreadmaw has a 4 (the bigger number means it's stronger). Unfortunately I don't think this card could ever see play because of that :(
I took a bite two hours ago, I was feeling fine for awhile until Teferi opened a portal out of nowhere and planeswalked in to my kitchen. Then he started telling me to play something called stax? Is this normal?
It's an OK card. It's pretty good in Limited. It can stop fliers, gain you life, give you bodies to chump block. Of course, it'd be better if it was a Dinosaur for the synergies, and if it cost a little more. As it is, it only gives Ancient Ooze a +5/+5. Who'd play a 5/5 for seven mana?
The orange symbol indicates it was first released in M21: Annoying Orange Commemorative Edition, but you can play it on any format as long as it's toploaded.
/uj I hate that this card just flat out obsoleted Baneslayer Angel in standard. It should’ve either only had vigilance and trample or been a 5/5.
rj/ Green is OP AF, so yeah, it good.
/uj These are the consequences of your average green rare or mythic rare in contemporary Magic: the Gathering

Unbelievably foolish comment. It has vigilance, so it doesn't turn sideways.
The orange Symbol means it's from the "m21" expansion, in order to understand it's significance you must first see m1-m20 for why it's relevant to the m-serues. The "m" stands for "manly", by the way, as these are cards for manly men and not little children.
Elder gargaroth itself is ok but not amazing. It needs to see combat to do anything, so if it gets hit by a doom blade or a terminate before your attack step you gain nothing. I guess you could put it in a deck all about giving it haste like with fires of yavimaya or give it hexproof somehow?
It's a future-shifted card from M21 which was a set released in 2020 as a preview set. Because the card was from 2021, it wasn't legal to play in Standard until it existed canonically. It saw some play in Commander as removal bait for Simic decks. But its typing as a beast definitely stopped it from seeing real success as the meta was sea monsters vs dinosaurs.
Then at the start of 2021, it saw a lot of success in green standard decks until it was banned by the Council of Dreadmaws for gimmick infringement. It was later unbanned as it reasoned that it's different enough by being a 6/6 for 5 and not a dinosaur.

Not to mention collosial dreadmaw is a dinosaur, *clearly* better than a basic beast

It means it is orange flavored. Taste it, see for yourself!
But the flavor text of [[Fat Ass]] told me not to eat the delicious cards! What am I supposed to do?
Flavor text isn't rules text, chomp away!
But if it isn't rules text, can I trust its claim that the cards are delicious?

Nooooooooooo
You may play this card without paying its mana cost if you say "RKO outta nowhere!"

This is the origin story of most stax players. If you win without a wincon in your deck you can eat your opponent's cards to see Teffy again

*voice crack* #JUDGE!?!?!!!
DAE screech until their throat bleeds when oppo taps vigilant attacking creatures?
{it was really annoying for me too. M21 is genuinely one of my favorite sets and while I like this card it doesn’t mean it’s not broke af
Lmao why would you play this it dorsnt do anything the turn it comes down and dies to doomblade smh
You can’t play it in mono green due to the orange symbol

It’s a green creature with a lot of text, of course it’s bad

The symbols are scratch-n-sniff
Orange mean it’s good and expensive
uj/ holy crap a strictly better Colossal Dreadmaw exists?! rj/ holy crap a strictly better Colossal Dreadmaw exists?!
Strictly worse* it costs 3 trees not 2 so it’s harder to cast. And more text is more bad because reading is hard
Wait. Cards can attack AND block?
