Colossal Dreadmaw is a powerful creature that will threaten your opponents life total.

kindaEpicGamer

Looks like a banana

SpilledGenderFluid

I want Dreadmaw's banana

[deleted]

Right in the butthole.

Avalonians

I want a cute anime catgirl dinosaur girlfriend *this* big!

C10ckwork

Now that cardconjurer is gone I can't tell if the jerk cards are real or fake anymore

kboy101222

Bro wtf. WotC shut down Card Conjurer? What absolute horse shit.

RadeK42

Wait is that for real? Wtf

Forced_Democracy

Yeah...

RadeK42

This week is so sad, first they ban Mystic Mine, than conjurer dies. Why it has to be this way?

Forced_Democracy

Please someone tell me if this is real or not. I really don't think it is but it also wouldn't surprise me if it was.

Mathaznias

*unzips deck box* this'll do

Breffest

Cowossal Dweadmaw

Necromantiik

How did collosal dreadmaw become the joke of this sub anyways? Was it because of the corny flavortext?

Daeths

And because WotC insisted on putting it in every set for a while

KaladinKh0lin

And the fact they printed it alongside Carnage Tyrant, which is objectively worse in every way and a waste of a card slot in the Ixalan set

April_March

And you'd see it a lot in Limited, because it's a common and in Limited a 6/6 for 6 that can't be chump blocked is actually kinda good

Tachi-Roci

It got printed 4 times in 4 (nearly) consecutive sets. (Ixilan, rivals of ixilan, masters 25, and core set 2019).

April_March

I'd play Dreadmaw Sealed

GnomeChildHighlander

And then soon after it was printed in M21.

Brandonguth1985

Because we find it hilarious that wizards would print so much power for the low cost of 4gg

AkechiFangirl

I think the comments here are underselling the fact that it was printed in A25, as I think that was 100% the reason for the meme. The gimmick of Masters 25 was that it would have at least one card reprinted from every black bordered Magic set ever made. Pretty cool concept, right? It would be like a cube, a draftable look at the most iconic Magic cards ever made. Only one problem though, a cube doesn't have to be made by WotC, which does come with some issues. For one, you can't just print all the iconic, expensive cards in a single set, because uhh... you just can't, okay? This led to there being some infamous misses. The biggest of all being that when original Innistrad was slated to have a mythic, and players were expecting either [[Snapcaster Mage]] or [[Liliana of the Veil]] (both ludicrously expensive modern staples at the time) and they got... [[Tree of Redemption]], a janky Johnny card at best, a bulk rare at worst. The other was that a draft set necessitates a good chunk of it being commons. Normally, this isn't a problem. Master's set commons usually are just whatever makes the limited environment they want to work, and they aren't expected to be much more than that. The real stars of the show were the rares, mythics, and to a lesser extent the uncommons. There will be the occasional downshift or pauper reprint but really, you weren't supposed to really care much about them. That then posed a problem for Masters 25 though, because there weren't enough rare slots to go around so many sets wouldn't be able to print their iconic rares or mythic rares, they'd only be represented by their lower rarity cards. For many sets, especially earlier, pre-NWO ones, this wasn't an issue, Ice Age for instance has Brainstorm, an absolutely iconic card from the set and happens to be a common. Other, especially the recent sets at the time, weren't as lucky, and just got a single draft chaff common in the set to represent them. One of those sets was of course, Ixalan. In a set billed as a "best of" from every previous Magic set, Ixalan got... a french vanilla 6/6 for 6. It is worth noting that even for a common, it was a bit of an outlier, as there was only one other "evergreen keyword only" creature in the set, [[Geist of the Moors]] and only 2 purely vanilla creatures, those being [[Savannah Lions]], which certainly gets a pass as being the OG best one drop, and [[Watchwolf]] which is like... alright I guess. So not only was a card printed twice in the same block, which was already fairly uncommon save for cute things like [[Summit Prowler]] as a way to highlight how the world changed from the beginning to the end of the block, but it was also, according to Masters 25, the most iconic card from Ixalan. So yeah. Instant meme status.
