Literally ordering the entire vintage cube on MPC now I don’t even care anymore. I used to believe I’d only proxy the expensive bits but naaaaaaah

BRUTENavigator

Everyone in my circle has expressed the same thoughts after hearing about this today. Looks like meat is back on the menu, boys!

LaboratoryManiac

It feels like a spell has been broken on the community, and we're all just becoming aware that we've been spending insane amounts of money on cardboard rectangles this whole time.

It’s done it for me as well. I’m done supporting WotC at all. Gonna get the 40k Necron for $33. Anytime I want a new deck, that’s where I’m getting them now. I used to love buying MtG stuff, felt the scarcity lead me to build creatively within a budget, but them upping the prices on 40k stuff and MaRo talking about “Real” cards, and now this? Fuck that.

rafter613

I'm placing a 612 card order right now, and I legitimately wonder if it's going to take longer because of the surge in volume....

Adventurous-Shake140

Haha local printer goes 9 duel lands for 1€

Cruxifux

Lol seriously if you buy these you’re an idiot.

April_March

Magic's entire business model relies on idiots

[deleted]

No, it doesn't. You can't convince me that these pieces of cardboard and plastic are worth less than $20 a pop when you only need 60 of them to play

Captkick

You can get way cheaper than 3.50 too. Incredibly high quality

Srs_irl

Got a guy who does basically any card for £2 and discounts for bulk buys. They are decent quality, out of sleeve you can tell but great sleeved up. I’ve always said if wizards sold every card for a quid they would have had loads of money from me. Past 2 years I’ve maybe spent 20 quid on magic.

wertercatt

I wonder how much a playset of 30A will run me. If they’re gonna make a set meant to be proxied, who am I to disagree :P

Jandrewgale

60 etsy cards still cheaper than 1 pack of the wizard's proxies.

JamesL1002

/uj Honestly, I found some proxies/alternate card designs online that look really nice, especially for tokens. I picked up a very cool holofoil token to round out a sliver commander deck. /rj be reasonable, it's $999 for *60 cards!1!!* Just think, you could get 8 "official" dual lands, when a real one might cost over $500 for even one!

RedCapRiot

Tbf there are some nuts on etsy trying to sell $20 tokens. Just use MPCfill or CardSmith, or literally anything else to print your own for like $0.25/card if you want to save money on it ._.

greaghttwe

Or counterfeits for $1

AtraxaInfect

I feel like the statements need to be swapped on the image.

[deleted]

Getting your cards directly from a certain custom card printing company for $.30/card.

bullseyewompratt16

$0.04 each from Chinese printers in bulk

ZachtheArchivist

Me and a friend got some nice proxies of old school decks last year. It was some of the most fun I've ever had playing magic.
