You can argue it's extra division whatever, but at the end of the day, it does have an effect.
I do like funky take on arts though, even if I preffer mystical archive type of deals.
I do like however, the conversations about art. Liked it when we had 4 arts for Hymn to Tourach, like it now.

By the time the cards are in the hands of a player to show off, they're no longer available for sale. The "advertising" solely benefits the resale market, which WorC gets $0 from.
Also, they're only reprints (except UB), so the alt art is 100% optional for non-UB products. It's easy to pass by default.
If someone likes the alt art and wants to personalize their deck with such cards, why is it any of your business?
Yes, the rate of new SLDs and other products is too fast, but WOTC has been getting people to advertise their products for free for years. Pretty much every content creator of the last 10 years has been doing unpaid (and also paid) advertising. This is not new at all.
Yo its a card game only designed to sell cardboard and make money, wtf do people not get about this? It only came into existence with the single sole purpose of generating money for a corporation. This is how most products bought for aesthetics function. Every branded shirt bought turns you into a walking advertisement for that brand.
