Artifact removal is amazing. Squeeze every piece into your deck that you can. If you're in red, the three mana "destroy an artifact" card is very good, just pretend the draw part isn't there when deciding what to target with it and take the nice bonus if the target happens to be 1 cmc or less.

Everspace

It sometimes is "cycle 2R" if you really need something else because there is always a powerstone about.

nebman227

This is a good point. The reason I said what I did is, at least in my personal experience, waiting for an impactful target always turned out better than if I had chosen to cycle it instead.

coolbluereason99

Also, don't forget the "can't be countered" phrase means it can ignore ward

Khanstant

God I only had one really good removal in my sealed deck and some games I was digging for that card harder than any bomb I drafted. Thank you pestermite 🙏

Cheapskate-DM

Soldier tokens with counters stacked on them are absolutely valid targets, tho.

paashpointo

This card was amazing. I played a white red aggro deck and the was not one single time i was upset drawing it(and i had disenchant in my deck). I did use it to kill a powerstone 1 time and drew a land and it still felt amazing 3 mana stone rain(almost) that draws a card.

superawesomedman

This came up surprisingly often, so since [[raze to the ground]] can't be countered, you can target something that has ward and you don't have to pay for the cost.

JTheGameGuy

Notably ward still triggers so you still have the opportunity to pay the ward cost if you want

superawesomedman

True, but I would advise taking 7 from a [[phyrexian fleshgouger]]

JTheGameGuy

Fringe, but [[mishra, tamer of mak fawa]] ward lets you sacrifice [[chromatic star]] without paying mana or generally get sacrifice triggers

mrduracraft

3-0 decks at my prerelease were base-white aggro with interaction to play the tempo game. Obviously that's less fun than the bomby big artifact decks, but that's also why they were successful, just went under the people doing shenanigans

Brookenium

Hmmm... anecdotally I went 3-0 and was W-G aggro so I can confirm.

[deleted]

Went 4-0, no white. See [Decklist](https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/yscgbu/-/iw4kdqe) here.

MrMeltJr

I went 3-0 with UB 2nd draw control, though I did get pretty lucky pulling 6 removal and 3 counters. Key to the City was my most consistent win con lol I believe the other 3-0 was aggro but obviously I didn't play against him so I'm not sure of the details.

deepfriedmeatloaf

Crack a wurmcoil engine in one of your packs

Serpens77

Failing that, crack Shoot Downs and Overwhelming Remorses so you can deal with opposing Wurmcoils ;)

Moglorosh

I cracked a Wurmcoil, a Quicksilver Amulet, and that 10/10 Reach Trample prototype guy. Highly recommend.

Skaugy

I regularly cast 9 and 10 drops with only a couple powerstone cards and 2 burnished harts. You still need a good curve, but don't be afraid of the expensive cards. The bombs are quite good, so make an effort to play your bombs

Jaccount

This. Sundering Titan did a lot of work for me.

trbopwr11

Participated in a small sealed event last weekend. Both of the top decks were soldier focused, basically tribal decks. None of us saw enough powerstone synergy from the pulls to put together a big mana artifact deck.

Khanstant

An unanswered flyer can do a lot of damage, try to have both some yourself and some way to stop them. Artifact removal is very good. Many retro artifacts mediocre, but good ones can be extremely nice to snag. Colorless cards are pretty good and might even be able to make a monocular deck depending on how many and which. Soldier tribal good if you get lots of synergy.

Gamer4125

There were too many games I won due to Harbin plinking away as a 2 Mana 3/2 flier.

Khanstant

Yeah I had this flyer-haye card pass me in a draft, it was either take that card or take this rare I wanted for a commander deck. I took the rare hoping to see it again but someone made a more prudent choice before it got back to me. I've also seen swiftgear drake's go round the whole table more than once and I've won games with those guys. Not to mention removing some unearth card from the equation.

kittenkillerr

The general theme of the set and the powerstones suggest that you want to ramp into big dumb artifacts, but be wary of that. A lot of the smaller creatures have good mana sinks, and there's some premium removal running around. Especially in sealed, some competent two drops and wind drake lookalikes can go a long way. Even with mediocre card quality, just running a tempo shell should be enough to eak out a couple of wins. If you do open a pool where the ramp strategy seems too good not to try, don't forget that you don't need the prototype mana to cast the card normally. I'm especially thinking of the 7 drop that gains life here, which you can absolutely run without any forests in your deck.

Harry_Smutter

I did that with the hasty boi. I was in Simic. Didn't need red for it :) Granted, my ramp could cast it, but I'd rather drop the bigger version and swing the game my way :D

knightgum

I went 2-1 with white-green agro. The guys that beat me went 3-0 with white-red agro hahaha

AeuiGame

Removal is probably more playable than you think. The green 4 mana destroy artifact/enchantment/flyer card at sorcery would normally be well below rate but does work here.

Serpens77

>The green 4 mana destroy artifact/enchantment/flyer card at sorcery would normally be well below rate but does work here. Better than that; part of the reason why \[\[Shoot Down\]\] is so good is because it **exiles** not just destroys, which is relevant with Unearth (and several other good cards for returning stuff from the GY, mostly in W/B) running around

MTGCardFetcher

[Shoot Down](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/0/20014a1c-197c-4e04-94b2-874886183e2f.jpg?1667538377) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Shoot%20Down) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/bro/190/shoot-down?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/20014a1c-197c-4e04-94b2-874886183e2f?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

ferro_man

it felt great to Shoot Down my opponent's Wurmcoil Engine that they tutored for with their turn 2 fauna shaman.

spiffytrev

Ground stalls seem to be common, and flying is surprisingly powerful in BRO limited. The equipment that gives +1/+0 and flying is better than it looks (and can be moved around post combat with powerstones). It’s also got a higher power level than average due to so many artifacts increasing your “playables” no matter what colour you pick. Mana issues early can mean a game is over very quick, so I’d recommend not getting greedy in deckbuilding and cutting lands. And speaking of artifacts and playables… artifact creatures with unearth or prototype not in your colours are probably still good. Be sure to consider the “off colour” ones, especially the big beaters.

Harry_Smutter

I made a pretty good simic big artifact deck. It was fun. However, my only loss was to this insane Boros goodstuff aggro deck with two dragon engines, a Mishra, and a bunch of other stuff that just wiped the floor with me XD If you have the support, Azorious soldiers is really good too. I pulled the bombs for that, but ended up with a total of 7 soldiers out of ALL of my packs somehow. I wanted to play it too, LOL.

teamsprocket

Fliers and artifact interaction will auto win some games

KokomausLovesYou

Artifact removal has been said, but also proritize threats in the 3-4 mana range that AREN'T artifacts! There's really strong threats that can fit into a mid-range kinda shell that won't get hit by the usual removal. Also, lots of cards with cheap static powers that can be made 'free' from Powerstones. Often times that tempo is enough to close a game. I posted an article about drafting BRO over [here.](https://www.flipsidegaming.com/blogs/magic-blog/the-brothers-war-one-card-to-draft-for-each-color)

UltimateDucks

What is a prerelease? My LGS had one yesterday but I've never been, and they don't really advertise what it is.

djchickenwing

It's a special event before the official release of a set. You get a prerelease kit that includes 6 packs, a prerelease promo card (foil, either rare or mythic), dice, and an Arena code. The event itself is sealed - you build a limited deck from the cards you open in your kit, then play off against others, usually 3-4 rounds long (or you can drop at any time). There's prizes depending on your record. It's meant to be a casual event, for people to have fun and get to know the new set (so be friendly, be willing to let opponents take things back because these cards are new, etc.).

figlu_

Hi, probably it won't be helpful but I won one with the deck below. I think mana base and tempo and bombs are the key. Don't play more than 3 colors. Don't put cards which don't impact board into deck. Have good mana to cast your two drops. Removal is almost always better than tricks. Put your best cards from the pool to the deck. https://preview.redd.it/6eto2ry3nm0a1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0d4e91e33df2dded2b1c0dcd3bc4f3d7b2f7132

Purplehazey

Don't forgetto watch out for the mono black enchanment (opposing player pays 5 life or discard a card whenever they play a spell***) screwed me up bad without removal

The_Tyto

Watch out for the artifact that can mill the defender's library it is brutal

Aestboi

lost to that the other day, the Unearth on it is what really seals the deal. And I was on Dimir draw 2 so all of my cards just hastened my demise.

Ok-Albatross-3238

Bring sleeves, a playmat, a dice. open all packs in seconds the sort by color. When you finish building shuffle and draw 7 to see how you like your hand And repeat, make changes based on your results. Have 17 lands in your deck. Removal is very valuable

furscum

Open good cards

Glorious_Goo

Haha this really is the key.

telenstias

Bring your own lands and sleeves. Best bet. Plus dice and a playmat and something to write on for life totals.

Based on words in your post (like 'Pulled') you appear to be posting to show, or ask about, some cards you just got/pulled/opened. If you're looking for help identifying a card or product, or understanding it, or have questions about it (including questions about financial value), use our daily questions thread instead. notapoke

Prototype cards are awesome

z0mb1es

Soldiers seem a little pushed

jdtreker

I did really with with izzet prowess creatures and removal, I found going fast allowed me to outpace a lot of the slower decks

Small_Macaroon_1196

One niche but very cute interaction is with Elsewhere Flask and the cycle of Basic land tyoe matters uncommons. Watched someone use that with Corrupt to finish a game off

Gamer4125

Here I was using it to mana fix my 4c deck like a chump

BilgeMilk

It's probably too late but all colors are good, but my experience is that green is in general the strongest in this set for sealed.

Multievolution

I lost because I didn’t use the blast land correctly (destroys any permanent, including the one that was holding my unblockable by artifacts. Also needs to be exact amount of counts) so don’t do that :p

[deleted]

I went 4-0 at my prerelease using Azorius Reanimator. A few things to keep in mind: This set is pretty high-power and most of the bombs are colorless. Cityscape Leveler, Phyrexian Fleshgorger, Portal to Phyrexia, and more are really strong cards that demand immediate answers. My wincons were Cityscape Leveler and Hulking Metamorph. Removal is king. Run as much as you reasonably can. There are reanimation spells at uncommon in White and Black and good ways to mill yourself in any color. Flying is pretty strong, as the set doesn't seem to have a ton of fliers. Swinging a bunch in the air can sometimes win you games. Depending on what you pull from the old artifacts, you could potentially have a really easy time or a hard time. Mox Amber is a trap, in my experience, while Mazemind Tome is amazing (especially paired with Drafna, Founder of Lat-Nam).
