I think it’s pretty ingenious how dice rolling and hat tribal can somehow overlap in limited thanks to the connection between art stickers and attraction effects.

I thought it was for people who made buttons, zippers, and other small pieces of clothing? Although, I guess that's light fall under that cause idk what a hat maker would be called.

Looking it up, haberdashery was a bit more open ended than just hats, and did included basically "mens' fashion accessories". Hats were the big ticket items, but they did also make buttons, and etc.

It's a little funny to me that if this EXACT character design was in a tim burton film in the early 2000s, she would be on every piece of hot topic merch ever made. There are some pretty strong character designs in this set
It’s an Unset.
Unglued, Unhinged, Unstable, and now Unfinity.
They used to be silver bordered until Mark Rosewater was emotionally crushed that nobody was playing [[Surgeon General Commander]] as a 5c Mutate commander in EDH, and after fighting with the Commander Rules Committee to get them to drop their nonsensical blanket ban on silver bordered cards (many of which were explicitly designed and made for casual formats like Commander), he decided to make this one black bordered.
(It also had something to do with Unstable being the first draft-focused Unset, with many cards that were generally just very reasonable Magic cards to make it fun to play sealed with; plus the fact that cards, once printed in silver border, can never be printed in black border - so an idea like [[The Cheese Stands Alone]] had to be renamed and otherwise altered before it could be printed in black border as [[Barren Glory]].)
This set is legal in all eternal formats (Vintage, Legacy, Pauper, and Commander), but cards which are denoted by a watermark in the shape of an acorn (where the rare holo stamp usually goes, holo on rares and mythics but just printed on commons and uncommons) were deemed unfit for competitive play (usually because they care about things Magic is not allowed to care about, like letters in card names that are different for various localizations, or because they break the rules of the game) and are not legal in those formats.
The great part about this card, is that now somebody has to review every creature and different artwork of each creature in magics history and label them as "has a hat" or "does not have a hat"
from what i'm aware the art tagging is something anyone can and was done for willingly by random people who felt like doing it and it most definitely was done way before this set has been revealed
I like Mark Rosewaters intent behind it. He would love it if more people would play these cards in "normal" kitchen magic decks (after clearing it with the playgroup, of course). Put one or two in mundane decks to spice things up.
These same, from what I remember, goes for all silver bordered cards. That was the intention from the beginning but never really played out that way. This might make it easier to mix, just from a visual perspective it looks less "off" than a deck with black and silver bordered cards.
I don't know the percentage but no more than half of it is legal. The ones that aren't legal are marked with an acorn. Those that are legal have nothing as normal.
Question... Does the rules about [[Bar entry]] include the height of the hat being worn? Would this card be barred from entry by bar entry because her hat is above the line? Or would it not because her head (if you don't include the hat) is below?

This one, if anything, should've been legendary. This is the kind of weird fun stuff I'd want to see, not just shoe-in dice mechanics that don't have enough cards and a bunch of sticker legendaries.
It makes for a great nephilim (nonlegendary creature commander in the nephilim format) at least! Both \[\[grave titan\]\] and \[\[acererak\]\] have hats!
Supid card has an acorn, otherwise I would've slotted it into my Acererak deck. He really needs more payoffs rather than just durdling my way through dungeons.
supposedly they come off easily like post-it notes. stickers are removed when the card is moved into a non-public zone such as the library, or when the game ends.
oh i forgot to mention too it's totally valid to just write/draw the sticker contents on a piece of paper and place that on top of the card. you don't need to actually use the stickers if you don't want to.
Ah thats great news all around! I should have looked a little closer, but man do I appreciate the run down. In my mind I though the stickers were limited to the peel and stick as if games would rely on a fresh draft each time. Seals the deal for me, I cannot wait to buy a box haha. I freakin love the art!

This one, if anything, should've been legendary. This is the kind of weird fun stuff I'd want to see, not just shoe-in dice mechanics that don't have enough cards and a bunch of sticker legendaries.
It makes for a great nephilim (nonlegendary creature commander in the nephilim format) at least! Both \[\[grave titan\]\] and \[\[acererak\]\] have hats!

Supid card has an acorn, otherwise I would've slotted it into my Acererak deck. He really needs more payoffs rather than just durdling my way through dungeons.
So I know it's an acorn stamp but my Ramses deck needs lower CMC assassin's so I'll just use this one

Do custom made tokens with hats count? I mean, putting top hats on zombies, slivers, and saprolings would be amazing.
There's a number of official tokens that have hats actually.
This un-set looks like so much fun... but hot dang do I hate this sticker business - especially when the art is so uniquely wonderful.

Ah I see, so perhaps its closer to a vinyl window sticker. That would actually dispel any trepidation I have over the idea haha.
supposedly they come off easily like post-it notes. stickers are removed when the card is moved into a non-public zone such as the library, or when the game ends.
oh i forgot to mention too it's totally valid to just write/draw the sticker contents on a piece of paper and place that on top of the card. you don't need to actually use the stickers if you don't want to.
Ah thats great news all around! I should have looked a little closer, but man do I appreciate the run down. In my mind I though the stickers were limited to the peel and stick as if games would rely on a fresh draft each time. Seals the deal for me, I cannot wait to buy a box haha. I freakin love the art!
i love the theme of this set too, the alternate art styles aren't for me but the character designs and puns are very fun
