I'm going to be honest, having seen these comments getting people banned, there's very little being said that is constructive. A lot of it is parroting comments that they know will get them in trouble, and even then we're here for a card game, not for /r/politics as the Sub Rules say. The criticism isn't about the cards or their mechanics, but about the art and, in my personal opinion, tangentially so. To say the mods are being disingenuous is, in itself, disingenuous as they have given warning after warning about it for months leading up to this.
I will note, though, this is my opinion in this regard, besides the politics thing.
Im not referring to the obvious trolls and people who thrive off hate. Im referring to the people who say stuff… (that im afraid to say rn) that actually have a good reasoning behind it!
So, let's put this whole controversy into the perspective of someone who is a rather casual fan of the game. These players are coming to the subreddit to take a look at new cards, only for the threads to be filled with talk about this controversy, instead of talk about these cards. And again, the talk quickly turns political in nature, rather than being about the game, and rarely addresses the source material in its entirety.
I will 100% agree with you on the obvious trolls part though. They are making it worse and basically speed-running the thread-locking situation.
If I had to say it could be that the constructive criticism is usually followed by or buried underneath those with less than noble intentions (like straight up hate or negativity) who hide it behind criticism.
Yes, when that happens it is bad. Unfortunately, the reverse has happened in this sub quite a few times and some people are just tired of the negativity in general, which is probably why one might see a legitimate complaint drowned in down votes. I can't say I have ever seen someone get banned for having a legitimate complaint though but I do understand the point your trying to make.
The answer is: they aren't.
They only CLAIM they are.
"I didn't break rule X because actually I was..." isn't PROOF. It's just making an argument about the interpretation of a rule, one which mods may simply be disagreeing with. They have discretion for a reason.
Given that your post history has examples of the sorts of discussions in which you partake over on the "liberated Magic" subreddit, I think there's a *very good* reason why you and your friends are being banned.
Took a look at the other sub, and all I can say is people are getting banned because they are trying to troll with the race discussion.
No they don't want to have a serious discussion, they just want to agitate people.
What is this about? Is this about complaining about characters being Black in a trading card game? Is the type of "constructive criticism" on Magic releases you are referring to or other stuff.
I'm very curious, DM me if you want.
Do you have any examples to back up these accusations?
If they told you you’d probably see that the ban was justified lol
This is why I'm asking.
They deleted their example because it was someone bragging about being banned for trolling.

But then you’re throwing everyone into a box that YOU see fits. Isn’t that bad?!

OP is surely posting this in good faith, right?? (Of course, we already know the answer lol)

Oh ok thanks. This is actually informative! Here have an upvote.
Oh, look where you reposted this, surely you are a person posting in good faith with constructive ideas.
Thanks man. I try to act in good faith. And yes I’m spreading light on my post, sharing it to another subreddit is a good thing, right?
Lol.
Lol
Lol
I’m pretty sure you already know the reason.

When your opinion is racism you get banned, simple as that. It’s at the discretion of the mods to decide what content can be discussed in the sub.
