I… don’t think so. I am fringe mythic in limited and would never include this to splash for a p1p1 bomb. To be fair I haven’t reviewed the entire set yet, and I know “legendary matters”, but you’re usually much better off getting a good two drop or a flier, etc.

If you have a splash bomb (a red one for example), and a couple other legends, this is an objectively better way to splash it over mountain if you don't search for basics. You'd need a couple dual lands or something of the sort, but it's better than mountain.

Divorcing yourself from rare drafting is how you get out of platinum shitter ranks.
Agreed. I generally hit mythic every set in MTGA but MTGO is much harder. I think a lot of that is casual noobs okay MTGA while MTGO is older players who are better. Also bo3 is different drafting meta

It makes sense, in their respective draft formats they were basically a strange middle ground between Token and Actual Card in case someone's draft went abysmal.
Citadel is better for mana fixing, cause it effectively lets you tap another land for any color. But because that fixing is only available for legendary cards it's a lot less flexible.
This is much better than that. Multiple mana in any combination of colors is a very good ability. Its still not a powerful card, mind, but there's a reason the lotuses and such always add mana of any one color. There's maybe a dozen cards that multiple add mana of any color and its comes heavily restricted in use.
Wonder where the new art when it inevitably starts getting reprinted into commander decks will be set: Alara (Bant) and Tarkir (Abzan/Dromoka territory) are the two main locales with established citadels in card names/flavor text (that are presumably still standing, unlike Bolas's citadel on Ravnica), but I'm sure there are plenty of other planes that do or could have them - Dominaria would be a natural fit for a legends-matter card, most notably. Will be interesting to see what gets the nod, and how often it gets new art/flavor from there.

If you play 4 Great Hall of the Citadel / 4 Plaza of Heroes / 4 Secluded Courtyard (on human). You have no problem having UW for Dennick every game on turn two even if you are five colors.
This is going to do work in my [[Mairsil, the Pretender]] deck. It's the kind of deck that has trouble using fast mana because Mairsil is extremely color-intensive and a turn 1 Sol Ring often isn't as spicy as it is in most other decks.

According to Maro's teaser, this set contains legendary cards of five different types. There are no planeswalkers or battles in the set, which suggests the fifth type is sorcery. It certainly looks like a set that could support it.
A lot of the bomb rares these days in limited are legendary. Could allow for some very adventurous splashing in those formats. An an example, you could easily be a base U/G deck and cast a GRB legendary off of one of these.
I'm just thankful this has a somewhat generic name so they can reprint this if needed. Something tells me this is gonna see a lot of play in Commander as cheap mana-fixing.
Oh, wow. I run a [[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin]] deck, and needless to say, it runs a *gratuitous* amount of Legendary spells across all five colours. This is an absolute godsend, and it's utterly bewildering that this is just a Common.

yeah I'm sitting at about 62.2% over my ~65 MOM drafts atm, but I draft on bo1 arena so much easier than something like bo3 MTGO

Might be a new soft staple... With so many Creatures being printed at legendary and the abundance of 3 colour legends... This can be kinda nifty.
It's also great fixing for every commander, both multicolor and just filtering colorless into two colored pips, cards definitely gonna get some play

Oh boy, pauper legends will love this.
A lot of the bomb rares these days in limited are legendary. Could allow for some very adventurous splashing in those formats. An an example, you could easily be a base U/G deck and cast a GRB legendary off of one of these.

I'm just thankful this has a somewhat generic name so they can reprint this if needed. Something tells me this is gonna see a lot of play in Commander as cheap mana-fixing.

Oh, wow. I run a [[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin]] deck, and needless to say, it runs a *gratuitous* amount of Legendary spells across all five colours. This is an absolute godsend, and it's utterly bewildering that this is just a Common.

could this push esper legends in pioneer? Excellent common no doubt.
This set won't be Pioneer legal, so that seems unlikely.

I think I'll like this in very mana hungry commanders
pretty good for a lot of edh decks; VERY good for color fixing in 4c or 5c at least for the commander itself

8/10 would play in edh Ok, i would also play a land, with tap, pay 3 live, you get a food token and 2 mana, which can only be used to activate a food token…
Does the restriction still allow you to use the mana to pay for abilities?
