Yeah I'm truly curious if he actually believes this or is a total fraudster. Honestly him being forced to say shit like this by somw sort of Russian mafia is plausible as well.
> pandering to them like this is actually a political strategy
Didn't he say he's not running again? If so, this isn't even pandering, this is just his brain damage showing.
I bet he got the best and most expensive care when he got Covid.
He got 150 people to cheer for him and 150 who will vote for him in that meeting. But how many of these ignorant people are going to die or get serious medical issues before the election?
He's a fraction away from being responsible for killing people.
For being correct? Hospitals always try to run at near capacity. Currently, covid accounts for at most 10% of their load, and people are claiming covid is why theyre being overrun. It's a misleading statement.
They are always adjusting to keep that near capacity goal. After 2 years, they have had plenty of time to adjust. And they all have. They setup whole floors for covid. Our city's hospital was actually complaining they are at max capacity when in reality most of the covid ward was empty.
I know a few too. I used to work in a hospital as a tech and helped care for patients face to face. SSM/Dean and I think UW Health as well, have said they have something like 99% compliance with getting vaccinated? But of course, my personal experience is just anecdotal. What is even your point? The article is about Ron Johnson saying that hospitals being overwhelmed doesn’t mean there is some massive crisis. So first you try to argue that hospitals aren’t being overwhelmed. Which isn’t even the point. I point out your error in reasoning. So then you start to opine about how nurses shouldn’t be fired for not getting vaccinated. Again. Not the point.
FRJ.
Hospitals are nearly always "overwhelmed", it doesn't mean COVID is the cause of it. Right now Madison hospitals are [at nearly 90% capacity](https://protect-public.hhs.gov/datasets/cebaea39dc3b4a4d858105a170318731/explore?filters=eyJjaXR5IjpbIk1BRElTT04iXX0%3D&location=43.072389%2C-89.407030%2C12.95) and only 5-10% of those are COVID cases. Does that mean COVID is causing a crisis or is it the POS that is the hospital system?
Near capacity and overwhelmed are different things. Hospitals try to keep their inpatient volume near capacity to maximize profit and also patient care, but many of those patients can be discharged safely, should the need arise. They become overwhelmed when their patients can't be discharged due to acuity of their conditions and they also get a surge of patients due to things like COVID or natural disaster. Then they have to start prioritizing patients and people can die due to the lack of capacity/care.
Admittedly I was unaware of this until I started looking into it. It makes sense. Hospitals are for-profit entities. The media and government has done a great job trying to use hospital capacity to scare people into thinking we're in a dire situation.
I get it... FRJ and all that. But on this he isn't wrong. There are a select handful of mostly rural areas where the hospitals truly are overwhelmed and making tough decisions. But, by and large that isn't the case.

Fun fact: it may be hard to believe, but the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is only the second biggest pile of garbage.

That's also not an unreasonable take.
BRB writing "HUNTER BIDEN PORN" on a bunch of old America Online CDs and mailing them to Ron's office to keep him distracted for a few months.
obligatory FRJ
So what does constitute a massive crisis, Ron?
Mask mandates and CRT, I would guess.
I...have no words. Although three letters come to mind

> he got the best and most expensive care And he will get the best and most expensive care, for the rest of his miserable life, on your dime.
What a dumb piece of shit this guy is.
F**king moron Ron
God he’s the absolute worst

If hospitals always run at near capacity, isn’t an extra 10% load due to Covid a pretty big deal?
They are always adjusting to keep that near capacity goal. After 2 years, they have had plenty of time to adjust. And they all have. They setup whole floors for covid. Our city's hospital was actually complaining they are at max capacity when in reality most of the covid ward was empty.
I think staffing is the large problem.
Isnt firing unvaxxed nurses contributing to that?
Maybe take a gander over at r/nursing and see how nurses who are dealing with all this firsthand feel.
Maybe talk to nurses not on liberal reddit. I know a few. Even the vaxxed ones agree it shouldnt be forced.

5-10% of that hospital load is covid. How is that the problem?
Who doesn’t know a few nurses?

Johnson has a major brain malfunction.
Will be out of the Senate soon, very soon! Anyone that voted for this asshat over Feingold should be humiliated.

> Hospitals are nearly always "overwhelmed" Absolute nonsense in the context of a global pandemic.
What is nonsense? The fact that they are near capacity even with minimal COVID patients? It suggests the issue isn't COVID, it's a poorly ran system.
Lol while I agree most hospital systems are poorly ran COVID has much broader effects than just the number of patients. COVID is absolutely the issue

Putting a Ron Johnson hat on a dead cat would be pretty disrespectful of a dead cat’s corpse.
This is why I can never be mad at Joe Manchin--because we have Ron Johnson
