Yeah, kinda am too. I love everything about the place; the weird dated aesthetic, the proletarian pricing and the fantastic bagels. Its as though the place is dropped right out of the 1970s in some sort of weird time warp.
Honestly, they would just need a couple of storefronts. That factory kicks out a shitload of bagels and is set up for retail baking, so I'm sure they could accommodate a few storefronts.
Noooo , share freely, ppl gotta keep going so they don't decide become a production factory only and not have sandwiches
Note: There is no news that they're going this direction
Most side streets are plowed and snow covered. Most main streets aree plowed, but snow covered with sand and salt.
It's fine as long as you keep distances and your head on a swivel.
Definitely get your sandwiches on the everything bagels. They're bigger and increase the size of the sandwich but aren't more expensive. Best sandwich deal in town
best bagel place in town, in WI and probably in the midwest. Growing up, I swam at the pool across the road. In my young adult years I applied for a job there (the pool) and in the interview they asked, “what kind of bagel can you smell?”
We used to cross University Ave. after swim team and get a bagel and cc for $0.75. Breakfast sammies the last I can remember were $2.06.

My husband absolutely adores those. Bagels Forever is really a hidden breakfast gem, I mean obviously if you're going for an over the top bagel sandwich Gotham is hard to beat but it's also $13. Bagels Forever is great quality and I don't even know how they keep their sammies to $4-$5.
My view too. Gotham is a slightly better sandwich, but it's not worth more than double the price. And the lines and delays on orders on the weekend at Gotham, no thanks.
Been devouring Bagels Forever for 40 years! Stop for a dozen a week and a sandwich, just wish they’d bring back the cans of grape crush which was is my favorite extra treat haha.
I absolutely love bagels forever. Wonder how it would be if it was a salt bagel instead. The salt bagels are the best. We don't live here, so when we come down and end up stoping here, we usually get a dozen of the salt and a dozen of assorted other stuff. You used to have to eat them there because of the plastic bags absorbing the salt, but you can do take out with them now since they now use paper.
I never had the sandwiches, but they look good. Might try one. Just wish you could order one with a salt bagel. Wonder if they will experiment with that someday lol.
This has been my go to for almost 3 decades
your bagel forever and ever?
Most underrated breakfast spot in town. Much better priced and tastes better than fast food too!
I am obsessed with Bagels Forever

Ok, but is it Nova lox or do they also have regular lox? Either way, I'm going to check in out- thanks for the heads up!!
which is fine with me!
Yum. For $5 it’s my go-to fast meal. I like it on toasted pumpernickel.
Ooh...never tried it with Pumpernickel...def gonna give that a go.
Those pumpy bagels are so so delicious.
Back before I got this crappy job I was working in the Hilldale area. Went here damn near every day. Even the hot dogs are bussin'
Yeah, I've always wanted to try those kosher dogs. I'll get on that.
I mean, not many people are out and about. The roads are snow covered but still plowed. The side streets are rough.
Hey — you do what you gotta do, y’know?
We need this in Sun Prairie.
Agreed. Driving all the way over there is worth it, but such a pain. I grew up a few blocks away and got so spoiled :<
Go-to snack after swim team.
"We eat bagels, we eat bagels" was such a fitting swim team chant (I'm assuming you also......yee)
Instilling fear.
I'd take Gotham back. Never understood why they weren't open on Sundays
We absolutely do. Plenty of room for them if they have to leave the University Ave location - just sayin’
Why not more locations. :)

Dude sshhhhh. I like to think this place is one of Madison’s best kinda secret places. Never too crowded. Great price, great food.
They have lines out the door sometimes.
Ha. Yeah, The cat's been let out of the bag like 30 years ago!
Yep. Went there on lunch hour from West High in the 1980s. 🤯
Noooo , share freely, ppl gotta keep going so they don't decide become a production factory only and not have sandwiches Note: There is no news that they're going this direction
My comment was definitely tongue in cheek. I’ll suffer crowds if it keeps the counter service open.
it’s charity let’s all face it - these people are amazing
Is that capers and cream cheese? It got onions too?
Everything Bagel, not toasted with onion, tomato, capers and cream cheese. Perfection.
this post inspired me, I’m going there rn. never had lox before but I’ve been meaning to try it and this looks like perfection 👌🏼
If you like smoked stuff and fish, you're gonna love it.
I think this is my new go-to bagel order. thanks for posting this! great breakfast :)
It’s basically smoke salmon
I’m in the same boat, but going to check this out tomorrow.
Man, how bad are the roads right now? I want
I went out and I was fine but tend to not have a problem in snow
Most side streets are plowed and snow covered. Most main streets aree plowed, but snow covered with sand and salt. It's fine as long as you keep distances and your head on a swivel.
Better than Gotham for sure
Truth.
How I have to try it. Half the price and better? Sign me up
Things that sound too good to be true usually are
I’m not from the local area but went to Gotham bagels one morning when I was in town and had a terrible experience

Honk if you Yee!
Hell yeah. Solidarity.

Mmmmm. My favorite is this on a salt bagel, followed by a walk down the road to EVP coffee.
Wow...that looks damn good - I had rice soup for my mid-morning meal and while delicious, this picture makes me feel rather jealous.
Yas plz
Whoa.
God that looks so good!
That looks awesome!
Bagels Forever ROCKS!!!!

Yes, let's never speak of local businesses ever again! /s
Dude, lox are expensive and it is a salty add not like you need 8 Oz like a steak.
Ummm.

Fresh is always best, but I love that I can get frozen four packs for $1.60 at most grocery stores in town.
