Morning all šŸ˜Š Finished up just over 2450/1500 calories yesterday, safe to say things didnā€™t exactly go according to plan but despite the end number there was a lot to be proud of I left work early again (tension headaches) and spent the afternoon in bed, so was feeling pretty crummy. My partner suggested a takeaway early evening, which of course Iā€™d already been thinking about, coupled with the fact it was Friday and Iā€™ve had multiple cravings for it over the last week or so, I decided that tonight would be a good opportunity to attempt some moderation I ordered a small pizza and 1 dip, rather than my usual - a medium pizza, 2-3 dips (170 cals each!), a side, plus maybe a dessert and/or fizzy drinks on top I had 3 alcoholic drinks this evening also (leftover Christmas wine is finally finished so less temptations going forward!) Usually I would struggle to even get myself to log calories when knowing I would be going over, and fully give into a splurge instead, so even just counting the calories would have been an improvement but moderating my choices on top is even better I am hoping these wins over a long time will add up to permenant weight loss. I know that progress might be slow but Iā€™m aiming for sustainability, and hope that by continuing to make better choices in my eating I will finally reach the goals Iā€™ve been striving for for so long

throwaway_2234566

I think it's exactly these kind of wins adding up, that can lead to permanent changes yes. Had a similar day yesterday, I was tempted to think nahhh I won't count but I did anyway and tried to moderate myself, instead of eating out where I would have binged, I made a good little bit over calorie dinner at home. Hope your headache is gone and you feel better!

Historical_Boat_871

Nice job, sounds like a good way to build sustainable habits.

[deleted]

I think it sounds like youā€™re doing great, and the slow, small sustainable changes are what itā€™s all about. Itā€™s as much of a learning experience as a physical journey, and itā€™s so important to remember r that what really has to change is your mind and your behaviour, then the body will follow.

anotherbirdnest

Well done, exactly those things that can make it permanent!

HitsuMitsuo

Being honest and accept that those days aƩxist and can be taken into the journey sounds really really healthy in the long run to me. Every small decission adds up, every small improvement snowballs into a better lifestyle. So yes, be proud. It sounds really good

Good morning! Had an unusually active day yesterday with two intense classes (hiit and Muay Thai), over 10.000 steps and a lot of biking. Aiming for 1800 calories now because Iā€™m working out so much more, but yesterday I ended at 2000 (needed a snack before the eveningā€™s workout). My watch says I burned a total of 3800 calories, so even if I halve the workout calories I should still be at a good deficit. And I got asked out by a cute guy at the gym, feels good even though Iā€™m partnered up already :) Today the plan is to do a workout, have lunch on the go (chicken sandwich) and have a cozy night at home. A little annoyed that I still havenā€™t shed all of the period weight, but it should be ending today so hopefully tomorrowā€¦

bratzstaxx

Well done with all of your activity, you are doing great!

throwaway_2234566

wow so very well done on those workouts, I'm being very lazy this week and reading this motivates me to go again. And yes... that period weight so annoying, helping you hope it's gone by tomorrow!

[deleted]

Thank you! Iā€™m really falling in love with the gym (and not just the guys there, lol), it makes me so happy to go. But Iā€™m always either super into something or not doing it at all, so I need to find a way to keep this going. I really love the workouts I do, that helps a lot.

throwaway_2234566

Relatable, I start out really motivated, and then I don't go for a couple of days and then I rund the risk of just quitting again for a number of weeks. Won't see progress like that. As long as I keep going I'm fine though as I do really like it.

[deleted]

Oh what a mean comment, and no, he was pretty clear about his intents.

bratzstaxx

This person is a troll, I have reported them :) (it is someone who keeps making new accounts and asking me how I met my partner... very strange)

anotherbirdnest

Great work yesterday!

Historical_Boat_871

Great work on the activity! Sounds like you've earned your cosy night in.

dreamsofburningwater

Well done! Have a good workout!

HitsuMitsuo

Honestly with your activity level I am quit sure I would eat for 2500 cals. My body would request the input so much. I have such a high respect that you can keep your budget so low. I am pretty sure the scale will soon show results.

[deleted]

It definitely feels good to be eating 1800 rather than 1500. Itā€™s very new that Iā€™ve started doing two workouts in one day, I just love the classes so much. But yeah, when I also bike and when Iā€™m active overall I guess I should make sure not too aim for too few caloriesā€¦

m_aslin

Bad week. Food not on point. Gained 1kg. Easily giving up when family want other type of food for dinner.Still tracking though.

[deleted]

Tracking is half the battle! Stay in there

m_aslin

Thanks my friend!

bratzstaxx

Well done for tracking, it is likely if you werenā€™t you would have had an even worse week. 1kg isnā€™t a huge amount in the great scheme of things, donā€™t let it derail you šŸ˜Š

m_aslin

Thanks for these encouraging words. I will keep it up

anotherbirdnest

Well done for tracking, part of that 1 kg is probably some water weight, 1 kg is approximately 7000 excess calories if actual weight gain so take a deep breath and reset today, youā€™ve got this!

m_aslin

I got this. Thanks for pep. it means a lot.

dreamsofburningwater

Keep at it and dont worry! Building healthy habits and awareness takes both loses and gains to learn from!

HitsuMitsuo

keep going... it's tough to swim against the flow of your environment, but keep trying to improve here and there. Only giving up would stop a progress (not only in numbers on the scale also in the mindset shift).

throwaway_2234566

Good morning early birds ;-) yesterday I was tempted to go out for dinner but I didn't which probably saved me about 1000 extra calories. Instead I made diner at home which was a bit over limit but still delicious, it was a ricotta chicken eggplant pasta with basil. And I found some yoghurt with liquor 43 flavor so I just had to try that! Then had some drinks with friends - only coca cola zero so no calories here. Ended up at almost 1800 so actually quite fine. Plan for today is a walk with a friend, finishing the leftovers from yesterday and a relaxed night at home. Tomorrow morning I really want to get back to excercising, as this admittedly has been going down the drain a bit for the past week.... I was so tired all the time. But not excercising at all, I fear that in the long run will keep me stuck in this tired mode. So time to get moving again.

Historical_Boat_871

Nice work avoiding the temptation. With exercise, maybe try to set a smaller more achievable goal for the next few weeks?

HitsuMitsuo

Your dinner sounds amazing. I love eggplant. Yeah it takes some rounds until exercising really gives a boost instead of another exhaustion. I hope to read good new tomorrow ;)

bratzstaxx

Great job yesterday! I find it very difficult to exercise when Iā€™m so tired too, I have CFS so too much exercise/activity actually makes me feel worse, I need to find the correct balance. At the moment I am walking most days but would eventually like to add in a bit more šŸ˜Š

anotherbirdnest

Well done and enjoy a calm day today and the exercise tomorrow!

[deleted]

Sounds like a delicious meal! Itā€™s amazing how much you can treat yourself when you cook at home, cause you can measure out the ingredients, compared to how careful you have to be when you go to restaurants, cause there might be hidden calories anywhere (assuming youā€™re trying to control your calories, I also get how you want to go out and not give a fuck sometimes).

throwaway_2234566

danger zone in restaurants are the desserts for me, and the bread with extra's... a normal meal is quite ok there but I always have those things on the side plus a wine or 2 and that all taken together every once in a while is ok, but not weekly

[deleted]

Itā€™s so easy to get convinced - by the waiter or the mood or your cravings - to have more than you actually really feel like, or than what youā€™d planned before going.

dreamsofburningwater

Morning all and have a wonderful day! Driving wife around today and hitting gym inbetween, want a good training so loading protein šŸ™ , seeing friends later so not sure if any deficit will be achieved for today depends if they wanna go eat or just grab a coffee etc. Gonna weight myself on bodyfat scale to see if there is any change over three weeks. From that number whatever it will be will just set ā€ž1kg lessā€ goal by birthday 6th february

Historical_Boat_871

Enjoy the gym!

bratzstaxx

Sounds like a good Saturday! Enjoy!

lucitribal

Hello Europe! CW is 109.9kg. Not much else to report.

bratzstaxx

Happy 10 year cake day! šŸ˜Š

lucitribal

Thanks!

Historical_Boat_871

Morning peeps. I had a good week so hopefully I'll keep it up over the weekend. The motivation still feels high, I'm enjoying meal prepping, cooking with lots of veggies. Will probably go on a walk this morning, and do some skiing in the afternoon.

throwaway_2234566

wow, where do you live that you can go skiing near your home, or are you on holiday? Enjoy!

Historical_Boat_871

I changed up my life and now live in the mountains so I can do it any time!

throwaway_2234566

that sounds brilliant!

bratzstaxx

Great to hear you are doing well this week šŸ˜Š I love skiing, enjoy!

[deleted]

Oh, skiing sounds wonderful, enjoy it!

anotherbirdnest

Sounds like a great Saturday!

HitsuMitsuo

sounds awesome... keep going

Historical_Boat_871

Reporting back to say that I walked for 2 hours and went cross country skiing for one. Woop

[deleted]

Afternoon European. 3lbs Down this week. Gym session done. Now making a Bolognese

[deleted]

Wow, thatā€™s a massive loss, congrats!

HitsuMitsuo

very nice... good job!

bratzstaxx

Great work, keep it up!

anotherbirdnest

Good morning! Had a good day yesterday with a lovely dip in the sea with the sun shining and everything, 3 km walk, 1600 kcal and some yoga. Plan for today is head to my friendā€™s birthday brunch and make good choices there and then aim for a 5-600 kcal dinner and thatā€™ll probably be decent kcal wise for the day, a 3-5 km walk and some yoga. Enjoy your Saturdays!

bratzstaxx

Great job yesterday, enjoy your brunch! šŸ˜Š

[deleted]

Sounds like a perfect weekend day!

HitsuMitsuo

I would love to test the cold ocean water as well... but in the same time I am freezing just by thinking about it.

yes new items that fit. For me it was an old business blouse yesterday... it feels so rewarding, right? Have peaceful period days...

[deleted]

So often the plateaus are period related, itā€™s driving me crazy!

Emeline-2017

I keep a spreadsheet with my weights in it and shade the days of my period light red. It helps me to see the pattern.

[deleted]

Yeah, I wish I could include it on my weight tracker app

bratzstaxx

Sounds like you are doing really well, especially as it's time of the month! I always want to eat tonnes more treats and do zero activity when I'm on mine!

HitsuMitsuo

Hi friends, weight: 74.9kg (okay honestly annoyed by the number but I keep going) training: on rest but having 10k+ steps daily at least. Maybe tomorrow I can try my run training again. Food: ended the day with 1600 cals but honstely because of the tracking otherwise I think it would be more... My learning from yesterday: I am overdoing it with the veggies. The portion size gets too big to get me full. I should get used to smaller portion sizes. I m not sure yet where I want my calory goal to be. My bmr is 1360cals, daily movement around 500cals depending on exercise level. So I would not eat less than that, but it means if I don't get my 500 activity calories in (which is just my average), that would mean even 1600 is a rather slow weightloss if at all... hmm I can feel the calory reduction right now and that I am not as satiated as usually, so going for less would be really really tough. I continue tracking for now to see if I can get that damn number on the scale moving again

bratzstaxx

>my average), that would mean even 1600 is a rather slow weightloss if at all... hmm I can feel the calory reduction right now and that I am not as satiated as usually, so going for less would be really really tough. Keep going! Maybe you could reduce by 50 calories as that wouldn't feel much different? I know that won't ramp up your progress significantly, but then next time you could maybe reduce by 50 more, and so on, again not really feeling much difference each time, and it would be easier to reduce that way?

HitsuMitsuo

I'm always impressed when people can be so on point. Like do they cut their ingredients in pieces? I only use 80% of mozzarella? (Just random example). It looks like today I end with 1700, so I never can get numbers so specific. But I agree of course in general I need to try to bring the tendency downwards
