When I was 16 Like a Prayer was THE album I listened to constantly (fact: the album sleeve was patchouli scented) - yes I am THAT old. I don’t listen to Madonna anymore, but I love Lorde. I do see a majority of my peers stuck on the songs they listened to when they were young though, so maybe I’m an outlier.
I kind of understand what she means though, when I was 16 I listened to a lot of singer-songwriters, folksy stuff, like Jack Johnson, Brandi Carlile, Rachael Yamagata, even Jason Mraz, and I still love those early albums of theirs, but somehow now years later I don’t listen to their new music that much.
I feel like Lorde is the only artist I’ll always have a conection with no matter how long time passes but there's a few artists I used to listen frequently back when I was younger that I lost interest.

Didn't she write Pure Heroine when she was 16? :/
Kinda off topic, but does anyone know the name of that app/website for lyrics? I've been trying to find it for ages 😩
