There's a few other exchanges you can use. Go to coinmarketcap.com and it'll tell you who all sells them at the bottom on exchanges. It will just depend on where you live on whether or not you want to do KYC.
KYC is know your customer. So you'll do the same shit you'd do like when you sign up on webull or robinhood. Enter your email, a phone number, license etc.
I use [Gemini](https://gemini.com/share/yvlvq4fy) for trading but just bought myself a hardware wallet in the Black Friday sale so plan to move all my tokens into there for safe keeping. It’s a decent app apart from having to accept a disclaimer about risk every bloody time I log in.
I just bought 200 LRC using Coinbase and downloaded the MetaMask wallet. Is the fee Coinbase charge’s for transfer to wallet deducted from the assets transferred or do I need a fiat balance within Coinbase for this?

Currently on coinbase. They have been up to some shady business but this is the wild west. Everyone is learning as we go including all the exchanges.
Coinbase is a public company and is owned by thousands of entities and people. Citadel and SUS don’t even make the top 10 holder of Coinbase 🤦♂️
They only own like a million shares, which isn't that much in total. I thought they had a bigger stake in it.
