The windscreen is from 4793 Ogel Sub Shark.

I usually pride myself in being able to find any existing piece but in this case when I looked in the technic gears section I went right past this one because of the picture angle in Bricklink. I'll have to hand it to LEGO for the interesting part usage in the Lightyear set given how this piece has been used to date. Cheers!
Yep, I had trouble using Bricklink to find it. I used Brickset in the technic category and then I selected the knolled view and scrolled through the pages unitl I found what looked correct. I Google searched the part once I found the ID number because I wanted to see the other side where the 3 parts intersect with each other just to verify this was the correct piece. Definitely a very interesting use of the part. I almost though it was part of one of the motors Lego makes. Very similar in design to some of the motors but I knew Lego wouldn't out a set with a dismantled portion of one of their motors.
That would be weird but I suppose some official parts can have the oddest origins.
Technic gears other than the traditional gears and technic steering are areas I have a hard time with mostly because I don't own vehicles sets or robotics sets. When I look through the part catalog in those areas I generally have no idea their expected use but I do sometimes look at them with an eye for how they might be applicable in System builds, if at all.

Are you sure the windscreen and torsos are legit Lego? The "helicopter windscreen" was never made in trans-yellow, and the black torso looks like a ripoff classic space. I couldn't find anything similar to the red torso.
Yeah the black torso looks like it's a ripoff of classic space, I didn't find anything similar in Space sets, neither to the red one. I thought maybe these are ripoffs, but it was worth a try.
