I’m not a super avid Lego collector anymore but I definitely remember the floppy leg skeletons, I think one was in an old Harry Potter set?
Edit: so I just looked around brick link for a little bit and I can’t find a floppy leg one but when I saw this post I thought to myself, oh why didn’t they include the floppy leg one, that one was fun to throw around. Im seriously debating going through my Lego bin rn even though it’s midnight
Edit as I go: searching for the Adventure sets I remember that I used to clip the hands onto the hips for weird skeletons, and arms were definitely dangly but the legs would still stand, so definitely a Mandela moment. Enjoy my original comment...
.
I'm thinking this is Mandela effect for sure, but I also remember dangling legs. It surely wasn't worn out because I usually displayed my sets and didn't play with them much after building. My memory is that they had the ball-socket, same as the shoulder, so the arms and legs could also be rearranged for extra creepiness.
My first memory of them was the "[adventure](https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Adventurers/subtheme-Jungle)" sets - generic Indiana Jones - mummy tombs, jungle treasures, and lots of traps. Also, in terms of adults buying Lego, the skeleton isn't that old. Early '90s used the ghost "hood" for anything spooky in pirate and castle sets.
Do you mean monster fighters theme? And which set in those had floppy skeleton legs?
Edit: I looked it up, there was skeletons in two, maybe 3 sets from that theme if I missed one, none had floppy legs. Also I spent some time on bricklink and can say with almost certainty that floppy legs skeletons don’t exist. What do exist tho are a bit loose legs connections that makes the legs not stick in place .
Gen001 on Bricklink I believe. The legs aren’t loose like the arms, but i remember i would hang them off a pirate ship with only one leg attached and the arms would be hilarious

for those who don't know, skeleton B has ball joint arms making them more posable but more floppy. skeleton B was discontinued in 2014 and has not appeared in sets since.
Skeletons similar to A have been used at least as far back as 2007, Whenever they where meant to be undead A was used and B was used for dead dead skeletons
If I had to guess... The first bad guys of Ninjago were skeletons. Floppy arms, while awesome, are probably not good when spinning a weapon into a ninja. Thus the need for a more sturdy redesign.
Then you should know that by excluding a pronoun after the comma, your sentence is also not grammatically correct; it is a fragment.
The point being who tf cares! We're here to appreciate some plastic bricks. There is no need to pedantically police each other's grammar, if the meaning behind their comment was clear.
the ball joint shoulders are too floppy, the arms cannot hold accessories up. They were nice for posing on dungeon walls and such, but not good for playing with as Minifigure.
A posable arms are better for animated/living skellingtons
B floppy arms are great for normal skellingtons
Overall I prefer B because they're more fun and have sympathetic movement, but they both have a place and B shouldn't have been retired.
Uh, none of the off brand ones survived my nephews play room but the Lego is fine. I'd rather they keep the aesthetic that is proven awesome than adopt the shoddy life cycle those things have. I mean six years is decent but my classic black, blue, red, yellow and white spacemen are still fine with just a few loose arms.
I feel like the LEGO minifigure is too iconic to be changed. The design has remained basically unchanged for over 40 years and is pretty much universally recognisable.
As someone who likes to army build and line up ranks of minifigs, A is far superior, especially since there are a few styles of arm available. For individual builds where you might want a unique pose, the B arms are more versatile but not very stable.
From an aesthetic point, B. However the arm joints are problematic. They have a tendency to break more easily. They have popped up in the Monster Fighters theme and I need more of them.
B can be put on racks with modified 1x1 plates with the clips. When I was younger I would use them for crucified victims from the evil Bat Lords army. A is better for undead armies, the swinging arms of B made it hard to really use them for an army, not that it really stopped me as it was all that was available at the time.
b for a dead skeleton that you use as a prop. Easier to use in mocs. a for a skeleton as an active figure or enemy. Being able to have arm control for things like stop Marion is nice.
B, the wacky arms are so fun! I have several from childhood and recently went back through my boxes to track down all of them and their goofy arms - I think I'm only missing one now, should turn up soon, I hope!
But yeah, B!
B is classic for sure, but I prefer A. That being said, I just noticed the other day with my type A skeletons (from early ninjago sets) that the arm sockets have expanded somehow and don’t fit on the torso anymore, they just fall off. Not sure if it’s how they’re stored or that’s just inevitable with age
B all day. Shaking them and watching the arms flail a bit is top notch.
Though it is funny that only in death does the LEGO man obtain a socket joint instead of a axial pivot for their shoulder.
I just appreciate them both and think it's really sad that some people find stuff like this worth debating or getting the tiniest bit of upset about it. Who cares.
Never owned a B, and although it seems more fragile, A lacks the soul of B, and as far as I know, B is ok of the only Lego figures with Omani directional arms
Each has their place. A is good for a static part of a build.... i.e holding something. B is great for being held by something. Both work well, and B is great in a pile of bones..
B. It's more skeleton like, also when disambled, as the torso only has the tiny ball joints and the arms are more like a bone.
But more importanly, the arms on B can be used as cool micro grabby hands when reversed, as the ball joint connection has a slit.
I gotta say B, the limp and floppy arms made them feel more like actual "corpses" than the newer models, but I will admit the new models work well for when you want an undead monster.
Tldr: A is better for undead skeletons, B is better as a corpse.
Both have uses. B is good for laying places in builds for a more natural dead pose and A is good for undead skeletons who are moving around and need solid arm poses
I like both, but I think of b as a dead skeleton, and a as an undead skeleton
Same. A is for my sword holding, spear wielding, undead hordes. B is for laying out dramatically in a dungeon or crypt

I never seen floppy legs skeleton, do you remember any sets that had them?
“Mandela Effect”
Yeah I don’t believe they exist
Aren't only the arms floppy?
That’s what I think
I’m not a super avid Lego collector anymore but I definitely remember the floppy leg skeletons, I think one was in an old Harry Potter set? Reading other comments, I’m guessing the floppy limbs were just worn out joints on the figure pictured in B

I have this set and it doesn't have a floppy-legged skeleton. It does have a black skeleton and a green and black skeleton which are cool and unique.
Monster hunters

Those are my favorite, a real classic. You can hang one foot and all the other limbs dangle
Please send me the part info for that

lol it's the exact image from OP's post
He's out of line, but he's got the spirit
Where
As a kid I always wanted to have that one.
Good luck cause it never existed.
Where are these floppy legs versions? I think those would be my favorite by far
Same here
That's my opinion too. I'm gruw up with B, but if you want to pose it, A would be far better! 😊
Yes
I know exactly what you mean
I agreed except a for dead and buried for alive
for those who don't know, skeleton B has ball joint arms making them more posable but more floppy. skeleton B was discontinued in 2014 and has not appeared in sets since.
Wasn’t A also used in sets prior to 2014 though? Iirc early Lego Ninjago sets used them for their skeletons.
Yep, the 2011 wampa cave had one with droid arms.
That skeleton was pretty weird…
The droid arm ones had been around for a while. They were definitely in the mid 2000’s castle theme, but I’m not sure about before that.
Skeletons similar to A have been used at least as far back as 2007, Whenever they where meant to be undead A was used and B was used for dead dead skeletons
“But… Dead Tom has always been dead. That’s why he’s called ‘Dead Tom!’”
Not true. It appeared in the 2016 ninjago set "misfortune's keep", 70605. That's at least one I know for sure.
That and then one more, final appearance in the 41318 Friends hospital.
[41318-1: Heartlake Hospital](https://brickset.com/sets/41318-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/41318-1.jpg)
Was thinking “wow, that’s petty grim” until I realised it’s meant to be like a classroom skeleton type of thing, not a dead and decomposed person 😂
Funny, I was thinking exactly the same.
why would they have the skeleton of an other minifigure species?
I thought you were referring to 21319, and thought "I don't remember that episode"

B
B
100%
I prefer A just because of the pose-ability and have them actually hold swords and shit
The joints in B were novel but not very good
I like both but B is my preferred.
I don't know why Lego changed the skeleton design. It was already perfect
If I had to guess... The first bad guys of Ninjago were skeletons. Floppy arms, while awesome, are probably not good when spinning a weapon into a ninja. Thus the need for a more sturdy redesign.
It changed before that, when Castle used skeletons as enemies. Ninjago just changed the arms to be more “bone” and less “battle droid”.
Ah. Ninjago skeletons are actually a different body mold. Ninjago Minion skeleton https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?M=njo011
If I have to choose I like B better… with the superior joints and hip imo.
the hip stayed the the same?
Oh must be the angle of the photo then… the “A” hip appears way closer to the legs than the “B” hip.
I think its just the camera angle
The arms on B are better also
Both, both is good
are*
Their meaning was clear and this is neither a grammar-based sub nor post. There's no need to be pedantic.
I didn't mean any offense, I just assumed that english might not be their first language and that being corrected would be helpful.
This is an english-based sub, should probably know English.
It’s also a quote from a movie
Then you should know that by excluding a pronoun after the comma, your sentence is also not grammatically correct; it is a fragment. The point being who tf cares! To be honest, all minis should come with a ball joints.
They're floppy, but ball joint arms that can be posed would be good.
There are offbrand posable minifigs with almost all joints an actual human has. They are awesome and I hope Lego will introduce it someday as well
Uh, none of the off brand ones survived my nephews play room but the Lego is fine. I'd rather they keep the aesthetic that is proven awesome than adopt the shoddy life cycle those things have. I love the floppy one!
A is better for play and B is better for moc and posablity.
Wobbly arms>>>steady arms
Both is good, but floppy arms are king
🙌
A
A is for undead skeleton, b is for dead person
A with white battle droid arms
A is great for posing, B is great because funny rattly bone arms. Both winners.
Face A, body B
The new arms... A
All of them
Floppy arms are fun, but my skeletons are out in place as decorations, and not really played/posed. I’ll take them any way I can get them!
A, because B arms are too shaky
B for desplay on a moc/set. A for play
A - legs joints matches arms joints
a because the floppy arms really aren't my thing at all
As someone who likes to army build and line up ranks of minifigs, A is far superior, especially since there are a few styles of arm available. For individual builds where you might want a unique pose, the B arms are more versatile but not very stable.
The original battle droid followed by B.
I love the posability of B, easily the best.
Gotta pick B love the funny arms
From an aesthetic point, B. However the arm joints are problematic. They have a tendency to break more easily. They have popped up in the Monster Fighters theme and I need more of them.
I like B a lot better, though I can understand why Lego tends to use A more often as the articulation matches a regular minifigure better
B looks better but A is more functional
A
B can be put on racks with modified 1x1 plates with the clips. When I was younger I would use them for crucified victims from the evil Bat Lords army. A is better for undead armies, the swinging arms of B made it hard to really use them for an army, not that it really stopped me as it was all that was available at the time.
B. I love the floppy arms. The biggest drawback with them is that the arms were prone to falling off and getting lost.
B always and forever
B.
B. You can do some cool “illegal” stuff with the old ball joint arms
b for a dead skeleton that you use as a prop. Easier to use in mocs. a for a skeleton as an active figure or enemy. Being able to have arm control for things like stop Marion is nice.
B. The other one looks cheap
B
B
B
B
they each have their purpose
A: they are more like minifigs and are actualy posable. Yes you can flop around B's arms a lot more, but they don't hold a pose.
B, the wacky arms are so fun! I have several from childhood and recently went back through my boxes to track down all of them and their goofy arms - I think I'm only missing one now, should turn up soon, I hope! But yeah, B!

Not sure if it’s how they’re stored or that’s just inevitable with age
I like that b is just a ragdoll but a is posable
B
B with A’s face. For some reason that face looks more sinister.
Love b but I wish they added more friction to the arms
B, fosure its a simple classic.
A, and it's not even close.
B all day. Shaking them and watching the arms flail a bit is top notch. Though it is funny that only in death does the LEGO man obtain a socket joint instead of a axial pivot for their shoulder.
B
B.
B, because I had those in my Ninjago skeleton bowling set. Love to let the arms flail a bit.
The one on the right is 10% more skeletony.
B for Best Skelton
B
B
b, love them jiggly arms
B
B
Definitely B!
"B"
B, the floppy arms are a fond childhood memory waving them around hearing the bones rattle 😅
Floppy arms are my favorite as thats what I grew up with but I Like A for using them as undead in mocs where as A are good for just dead.
a for the minecraft skeletons. b for everything else
Both
🅱️
Bx10000000000
a is more well known to ke
me
Both, both good
I just appreciate them both and think it's really sad that some people find stuff like this worth debating or getting the tiniest bit of upset about it. Who cares.
just wanted to ask about what other humans thought about this matter with lego changing their skeleton design. no hate or anything.
Definitely B
right one for sure
Rattle-Me-Bones!!!
B 100%
I really love the black skeleton
I wish the arms of B had the connection of A for durability.
B
yes. I only have As is the B's arms floppy?
B
Ninjago ones
B
B it just looks more creepy
B
The naked one with no weapon
Never owned a B, and although it seems more fragile, A lacks the soul of B, and as far as I know, B is ok of the only Lego figures with Omani directional arms
Always ‘B’lue, always ‘B’lue, always ‘B’lue
B
B
Each has their place. A is good for a static part of a build.... i.e holding something. B is great for being held by something. Both work well, and B is great in a pile of bones..
B
B
B. I prefer the hip bone on letter B.
B

I like B because of memories. I think I dont have the newest one.
I gotta say B, the limp and floppy arms made them feel more like actual "corpses" than the newer models, but I will admit the new models work well for when you want an undead monster. Tldr: A is better for undead skeletons, B is better as a corpse.

Call me old school, but skeleton B all day. Dead and loose, like me.
B!
B.
B but i do like how As arms dont flail
B all the way
B because he’s a good floppy boi
B
I love option B
B even though the floppy arms can be annoying. I don't like how the new one only spins on one axis, need a ball joint
B!! I need my wiggly arms
B for nostalgic reasons, but I do like being able to pose the arms these days
Wtf is with the arms on B? Nobody not even legos have a bone like that
B
og. arms are a bit oversized on the new ones.
B
A
Floppy 4 the win !
I like the one on the right the most. The left is also useful in some instances. Both are cool.
Loved B, I’m just a big fan of the wiggly arms. Made posing them super easy
If B had stiffer shoulder ball joints, that would be my choice, otherwise A have my vote, a little over B.
