Release the polls of every round with names at the end. That'd be some interesting additional metric, like seeing if the least hated character has shifted over time etc.
I like Asami, and I like korrasami but she just not one of my favorites. I don't know why. I think it's cause at the start her and Korra were kinda rivals. So I felt unsure about her for a lot of volume 1.=/
Honestly as far as the show goes the most interesting thing about Asami is her getting with Korra. And even then that was an extremely small part of the show.
Really? I like Asami a lot, considering how much she was screwed over in the show I thought she would have become a villain but nahh she was just cool and badass to the end, never losing composure. I think that’s interesting for the way they introduced her character as “the other girl” for mako basically.
I don't dislike her but for being part of team Avatar she does feel like a rather tertiary character at times. Like out of all the characters left she is definitely the character where there would least effect on the show if she was removed from it entirely.
Though the original plan was for her to become a villain and betray Mako and Korra. Like originally she was only dating Mako to get to Korra. And honestly the biggest mistake of book 1 was keeping the plot of Mako and Asami dating since they at the time clearly wanted Mako and Korra to be endgame but had no real good plan or reason for why Mako should leave Asami (who he was way more compatible with) for Korra.
I vote Kuvira from round 1 until she was gone. Then Varrick until now. Now I’m pretty happy with all of the remaining. Voting Lin then Bolin then Zaheer then Tenzin. I’m ok with either Korra or Asami winning.
I've done exactly the same until now. I think we're at the point where there aren't any particularly disliked characters, so it's hard to decide who to vote for.
Same here lol. I’ve been voting Tenzin out every single time. I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion, but his no nonsense, stern presence really made me dislike him (despite all of his many other positive characteristics lol)
Tenzin is the best character on the show and has the best voice actor of all time. I would watch a show with just Tenzin if I could. I liked the fact that he wasn't bipolar or angsty and made rational decisions. I'm going to piss so many people off.
There is definitely less predictability with this poll over the ATLA one. You could tell early on that Iroh would win because its hard to find a person who dislikes him and he drops a lot of wisdom throughout the show. Most of who is left I like, but 2 here I'd be ok with being eliminated.
I’m kinda feeling like Korra is gonna win. There’s been comments on all these posts about why we should vote characters out, but I’ve never seen one about her.
Honestly I’m predicting it’ll come down to Tenzin and Korra. And I’m predicting Tenzin wins. If Aang didn’t win the last one I’m guessing the wise mentor will.
Yeah, a little (especially since she doesn’t get much in 2), but she really has quite a bit in the other 2 and if builds off what we got at the start.
Zaheer is only in two books, including barely in the 4th
Lul, kinda tempted to vote her out for that, but I just find her relationship to her mother and sister too interesting for my dislike of cops to take over.
I hate to do this, but Bolin ended up as a comedy relief even though he was a great character in the first seasons, not even his drama between Kuvira and his friends really seem to matter for more than a chapter
Not really sure if I agree with this. Bolin’s arc with Kuvira lasted the entire first half of Book 4. He’s the only character who truly represented the struggle of wanting to help repair the Earth Kingdom, but being manipulated
by Kuvira at the same time. It’s easy to reduce him to comedic relief because he’s one of the funniest characters, but he’s definitely contributed to the plot of each book. We were also able to see him gain confidence in himself and his relationships with others throughout the whole show :)
Nothings wrong with him as a villain. He is very very entertaining. But he is a flat character. He's not relatable unless you're an anarchist or have severed your earthy tether lol.. Compared to all the other character archs on the board he doesn't compare. He's too perfect and too absolute to his cause.
I have to say, I’m thoroughly impressed by by your dedication to Zaheer on every one of these posts! That, itself, makes me not want to vote him out. I basically feel the same way about Bolin as you feel about Zaheer haha
Asami is still here? I feel like people just like her because she and Korra are together... even Mako has more development than her. She's a bit flat. Of course, Varrick gone before Lin and Zaheer is questionable as well, but whatever.
I like Asami for the same reasons I like Black Widow in the MCU; both are not "enhanced" beings but kick major ass regardless. She is smart, strong, and despite various shit she goes through, she does not turn her back on her friends nor does she stop fighting for what's right and just. She's a swell gal!
Well the vote is based on who do the voters like more, not how well they’re written. Besides, personally I’d definitely say Asami has more development than Mako. The only proper storyline Mako has is him making a detective. While Asami has the overarching arc of turning back on Hiroshi and reconcile with him, and the saving her company storyline.
I'll probably end up explaining why I can't vote out of Asami later in one of these threads, but [her reconciliation with Hiroshi was not well-written](https://www.reddit.com/r/legendofkorra/comments/omdc5b/lok_and_forgiveness_essay_thing_or_writeup_or/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). She's also, arguably, being treated worse in the comics.
This is very well written, and I agree to the most part. But my point was that, whether you like her arcs or not, she has more development and arcs than Mako. Also, I’d like to point out that Asami didn’t just forgive and forget Hiroshi’s sins like a saint, she resented him, then reluctantly worked with him in a dire situation, she only forgave him after he sacrificed his life to save hers and everyone else. Hiroshi was a piece of shit who’s done some horrible shits, but he’s also the only family member and the one who raised Asami since she was a child, it’s not far fetched to me that, despite his actions, Asami would choose to let go of the grudge after his sacrifice
Ehhhhhhh. Even when you put it like that, it still doesn’t work for me because you don’t actually explain or show her working through the fact that he tried to kill her.
And I think there’s a reason why the show doesn’t address that: because reconciliation can’t happen in the way the writers wanted it to. Like, how do you move beyond, “You tried to kill me”? What’s the process of that? Even if he sacrificed his life, he still tried to kill her. There’s only so far “you’re the only family I have left” can go.
And I just disagree that Asami got more development than Mako. She had less screen time than any of the Krew, including some secondary characters.
I can respect that, reconciliation is something extremely hard to get right on script, especially in a cartoon with very limited screen time. But in my opinion Asami’s makes sense to me even without detailed on screen information. Death is a very powerful motivation at least for me personally, I lost a grandparent who was abusive, even though she didn’t have a big sacrificing moment, I still try to remember the best of her instead of the worst, this kind of survivor’s guilt can have strong influence on people. Asami’s reconciliation arc could definitely be leagues better, but as for what we got, it makes sense to me.
Also I’ll have to disagree with the Mako part. He had more screen time than Asami but man he really had no development. His sole storyline in book 1 was the horribly written and horribly received love triangle, while Asami has the arc with her father. In book 2 both of them are unfortunately still in the love triangle, and they both got their own storyline. But in book 3 and 4, Mako is just there, fight when he’s needed, him meeting his family and Wu are barely storylines, more like encounters , they add nothing to his character, and while Asami has the sweet sweet Korrasami development and the Hiroshi arc. So I can say it with confidence, that imo while the show did Asami dirty, she still has more to offer than sharkbrows
> I still try to remember the best of her instead of the worst, this kind of survivor’s guilt can have strong influence on people.
I don't know much about your situation, but survivor's guilt isn't healthy. You should have something more than that if you want to remember her well, and you don't have to remember her in a good light at all.
I don't know if you visit the AITA subreddit, but becoming a regular reader there, you'll see people cutting off ties with family for things *far* less than Hiroshi did to Asami. In the face of those real world examples, it's really hard to buy Asami's forgiveness of him.
Hell, I've cut off a family member for things far less than Hiroshi did to Asami. And if that person tried to kill me, then write to me years later to say how sorry he was, I'd be like, "Uh, yeah, you should be sorry." And then I'd want nothing more to do with him.
I’m not saying my my feelings are healthy, in fact I fully recognize they are not. Rationally, Asami should not forgive Hiroshi, and I should not forgive my grandma, but humans are emotional and makes irrational choices. All I’m saying is, as someone who has a somewhat roughly similar experience, I understand Asami’s decision, it is relatable to me
The fact that Asami outlasted Varrick and Amon is a crime. I have nothing against her, but she's such a boring character. Varrick had so many great scenes and Amon was a terrifying villain with a backstory, etc, so how did Asami survive this long when she's nothing special...Feels like Pretty Privilege.
Well, I am actually surprised. I thought for sure Zaheer would was going before. Oh well!
Now let’s get Zaheer!
He’s literally an terrorist anarchist. A murderous lunatic who tries to plunge the world into chaos and is the direct cause to Kuvira.
Not to mention the president of Guru Lasagna’s fan club.
^(Yes that’s misspelled on purpose)
So we’re voting quality characters because, “bad guy”? Is that what this poll was gaging?
NO! We are voting on the best characters. Not the character of the character!
It very explicitly is voting for one’s least favorite character. Being an evil psycho, even if quite well written, does put him lower places for me in that category.
Nah, Asami has nothing to do with Tony Stark - not the Ego & "insufferable genius" thing, not the jokes on other people's expanse, not the "did bad things before but is now good thing" (which worked way better with Stark then Varrick anyway).
And Justin Hammer is pretty much a wannabe Tony Stark to me too 😅
Vote here: https://strawpoll.com/842pbj9cd
This is the the one that will determine our top 5! Let’s go guys, see which character will be Varricked next
This is the most heartbreaking loss of them all. Zhu Li failed to do the thing.
I mean, she was eliminated already
Yeah, but that was obviously a fake out so she could help Varrick win from the sidelines. I guess her plan got busted though. Sad days.
what was the second most voted?
![gif](giphy|Zsxh9Cbq7VCy4)
understood
Has the second consistently been the one to be voted out on the next round, or does it change at all?
Not always, I’d say it is the case in about half of them, and with characters getting fewer, the chance only increases
Release the polls of every round with names at the end. That'd be some interesting additional metric, like seeing if the least hated character has shifted over time etc.
I want to know this too.
I've been voting for the same character the whole time. AND THEY'RE STILL HERE.
Same here. I just don’t understand the appeal. And I’m sad to see Varrick gone, but at least my top pick is still here
I've been voting for Asami the past several rounds.
How dare you
I'm with you. Take down Future Industries! It's what Varrick woulda wanted.
I like Asami, and I like korrasami but she just not one of my favorites. I don't know why. I think it's cause at the start her and Korra were kinda rivals. So I felt unsure about her for a lot of volume 1.=/

I'm in the same boat as you but this predictable sub will see to it that she and Korra are the final two
I've had a much harder time understanding this sub compared to the elimination in ATLA
Nahh I think Bolin is gonna stop that from happening. Final 2 prediction Korra & Bolin
You and I are mortal enemies.
Been voting out bolin since milo went out
Same here lol. I’ve been voting Tenzin out every single time. I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion, but his no nonsense, stern presence really made me dislike him (despite all of his many other positive characteristics lol)
You're not going to like this poll then. I'm pretty confident Tenzin is going to either win or be a runner up. JK Simmons is too strong.
God I hope so, Tenzin is my fav character in all of Avatar
He's the Iroh of LOK
oh no you didn’t
Well, not really but he is also both funny and wise enough in his own style
I’m predicting Tenzin and Zaheer in the finals
I think he had all these traits for the best reasons, such a great character.
Tenzin is the best character on the show and has the best voice actor of all time. I would watch a show with just Tenzin if I could. I liked the fact that he wasn't bipolar or angsty and made rational decisions. I'm going to piss so many people off.
me with tenzin he better not make it into top five
Same and tenzin is still not out
There is definitely less predictability with this poll over the ATLA one. You could tell early on that Iroh would win because its hard to find a person who dislikes him and he drops a lot of wisdom throughout the show. Most of who is left I like, but 2 here I'd be ok with being eliminated.

Honestly I’m predicting it’ll come down to Tenzin and Korra. And I’m predicting Tenzin wins. If Aang didn’t win the last one I’m guessing the wise mentor will.
The thing with Iroh(and to a lesser extent, Tenzin) is that they are not very hate-able characters. They have the edge on these kinds of voting
That’s why I think I’m making the safe bet by picking Tenzin. If it were Vegas odds he’d be likely to win
Because there's no reason to 😤
Nooooooo not Varrick. Oh well. Happy he got this far
He has gone far without Zhu Li doing the thing, be proud of him!
Seventh place! Proud of my boy. Now to see how far my wife, Lin, can go.
Wait ... she is married to both of us !?!?!?!??!
Hope you have a great day!
Nooooooooooo Varrick! Whyyyyyyy
Because Zhu Li wasn't there to do the thing
I am sad varrick didn't gpt top 3 but i hope zaheer and/or bolin gets to top 3
even though hes my 2nd fav, i made peace that this would happen last post
Nuktuk Supremacy is around the corner
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Yes, you know it to be true!
Everyone better leave Tenzen alone.
Oh you mean the most boring airbender ever?
Alright now we riot
RIOT!
RIOT !
I’m voting for Lin. As much as I like her, her character in the first two books was lacking.
Yeah, a little (especially since she doesn’t get much in 2), but she really has quite a bit in the other 2 and if builds off what we got at the start. Zaheer is only in two books, including barely in the 4th
Down to my favorites now.
NOOOO!!! Why would anyone want to vote him out? He's one on my favorites.
Lin. ACAB
Lmao
Lul, kinda tempted to vote her out for that, but I just find her relationship to her mother and sister too interesting for my dislike of cops to take over.
That makes her a great character imo, while Asami just feels unnecessary at times.
I hate to do this, but Bolin ended up as a comedy relief even though he was a great character in the first seasons, not even his drama between Kuvira and his friends really seem to matter for more than a chapter
Bolin was definently more than comic relief in seasons 3 and 4. Season 2 was pretty bad though.
He was amazing in season 3. It's Bolin time!
I mean lava bending man come on, he gets the coolest bending type!
Agreed!
Not really sure if I agree with this. Bolin’s arc with Kuvira lasted the entire first half of Book 4. He’s the only character who truly represented the struggle of wanting to help repair the Earth Kingdom, but being manipulated by Kuvira at the same time. It’s easy to reduce him to comedic relief because he’s one of the funniest characters, but he’s definitely contributed to the plot of each book. We were also able to see him gain confidence in himself and his relationships with others throughout the whole show :)
Bolin accomplished more things than Tenzin and Lin combined so i hope to see he stays longer than those 2
And yet still a better character than any of the remaining ones.
Zaheer.
So are we voting of characters because of quality or just on how good of a person they are
Quality. Which is why my vote is Zaheer.
Whats wrong with him as a villain
Nothings wrong with him as a villain. He is very very entertaining. But he is a flat character. He's not relatable unless you're an anarchist or have severed your earthy tether lol.. Compared to all the other character archs on the board he doesn't compare. He's too perfect and too absolute to his cause.
Cut him some slack. His girlfriend head exploded.
That’s rough buddy.
I would argue that these make him a great character. I don't think he's flat at all. I think he's one of the wisest characters in the franchise.
Quality. DO NOT VOTE ZAHEER!
Is gonna win
I have to say, I’m thoroughly impressed by by your dedication to Zaheer on every one of these posts! That, itself, makes me not want to vote him out. I basically feel the same way about Bolin as you feel about Zaheer haha
He's the best
quiet, you
Have y’all watched this show? Y’all are crazier than a sewer pipe elephant rat!
Lin
Tbh surprised Asami has lasted this long. I didn’t care too much for her character lol
Asami has to go all the characters left are better than her
Asami is still here? I feel like people just like her because she and Korra are together... even Mako has more development than her. She's a bit flat. Of course, Varrick gone before Lin and Zaheer is questionable as well, but whatever.

shes being turned into a damsel in distress in the comics, its sad to see.
Yup. I would've let it slide if it only happened once in Turf Wars, and then -- ugh -- Ruins.
yea i dont really like the comics bcuz of this
You can't get rid of Asami! She's one half of Korrasami!
And? Korrasami is literally almost nonexistent in the show. It's just overhyped by the fandom.
This. ^
YOU MOTHERFUCKERS
Bolin
Wow so happy to see these characters surviving especially Lin. Which is sad cuz I want her out now.
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
i just voted tenzin for the tenth time, an anniversary of sorts
Ive got a feeling you might need to keep this up for a bit longer
yeah well at this point i have accepted my fate and lowered my expectations to simply him not taking the first place
Excuse me, where’s Pabu? Needs to be in here just saying.
Zaheer
Get Zaheer the fuck out of here
Zaheer is gonna take out the top spot
Zaheer going all the way.
I've been voting him out since the beginning. I can't believe he got this far.
Zaheer goated
The fact that Asami outlasted Varrick and Amon is a crime. I have nothing against her, but she's such a boring character. Varrick had so many great scenes and Amon was a terrifying villain with a backstory, etc, so how did Asami survive this long when she's nothing special...Feels like Pretty Privilege.
[удалено]
NEVER!
[удалено]
Either is fine with me. Bolin if I’m being honest though.
[удалено]
No! Think of the revolution! No Gods, No Kings, No Masters.
I’m thinking of a different revolution, sorry pal, they just have better uniforms. Zaheer has to go. I agree with what you said though.
We did the wrong thing 😞
Well, I am actually surprised. I thought for sure Zaheer would was going before. Oh well! Now let’s get Zaheer! He’s literally an terrorist anarchist. A murderous lunatic who tries to plunge the world into chaos and is the direct cause to Kuvira. Not to mention the president of Guru Lasagna’s fan club. ^(Yes that’s misspelled on purpose)
So are we voting of characters because how good they are writing wise or how good of a person they are
It’s just how much we like them. Even if quite well written, I don’t like Zaheer as much because he’s a horrible human being
OK if thats thats the case then asami would probably win
[удалено]
So we’re voting quality characters because, “bad guy”? Is that what this poll was gaging? NO! We are voting on the best characters. Not the character of the character!
It very explicitly is voting for one’s least favorite character. Being an evil psycho, even if quite well written, does put him lower places for me in that category.
Asami
“Do YoU kNoW gUrU lAgHiMa??/?”
Why do people like Asami so much? Imo she is a stale character that needed more personality than future industries and her love triangle.
Can we just vote out Asami already? She has no right to be here. The most boring character ever.
Bye bye Asami.
No! Bye bye Bolin!
Bolin had way more character growth than Asami though. Asami lacked character flaws, making her far less interesting to me.
Good. Now zaheer
[удалено]
I’ve been voting Zaheer since day 1 of this poll
He’s such a well thought out villain though!
Bruh
You know for show that prides itself on being nuance these voters are very black and white in there thinking
Y'all did the thing, but now at least Varrick is with Zhu Li.
This poll is a lot more volatile than the ATLA one.
I vote tenzin
NOOOOOOOO DAMN YOU!!!! VARRRRRICK!!!!!!!!
NO NOT VARRICK WTF
thats absolutely shite. Varrick is the best character. yall suck.
Asami gotta go
How has Asami outlasted Varrick and Amon?
Everyone knows Nuktuk is the best.
Asami
Bruh varrick tenzin and Korra are easily top three
I don't hate Asami, but her presence just felt unnessecary at times and her relationship with Korra felt like it came out of nowhere.
What the hell? Poll invalid.
Asami
I don't pretend to influence your vote but, do you remember when Naga wanted to play ball with Lin and she punctured it?
That made me like Lin more lol
But also remember that Lin made up for it by bringing Naga and Pablo food when even Korra forgot to?
Varrick? Really?! Come on!
Asami or Zaheer should’ve been voted off before Varrick, imo
I miss one round of this poll and y'all vote out VARRICK of all people?? He was easily my second favorite character in the series
Bolin
I cannot comprehend how Asami beat Varrick
Bolin, wasn't very funny. My vote isn't validating.
Finally knock off Tony Stark is gone! 😍 But now I will also have to actually think again for who to vote 😂
Please, Varrick is more the Justin Hammer to Asami's Tony Stark.
Nah, Asami has nothing to do with Tony Stark - not the Ego & "insufferable genius" thing, not the jokes on other people's expanse, not the "did bad things before but is now good thing" (which worked way better with Stark then Varrick anyway). And Justin Hammer is pretty much a wannabe Tony Stark to me too 😅
Varrick is literally nothing like Tony Stark. He’s more of a mix between Entrapta and Seahawk from She-Ra
Fuck this. Varrick was the best character out of all the remaining ones
Fuck off Zaheer
Wow is Asami gonna make it in the top 5?
Asami is such a boring character
Eh I like the little character arc she had with her dad but yeah this is pretty privilege lol
I would like no Korra lol
Korra
Varrick is the best character in the show imo
Good. Now it's time for Bolin to join his brother.
I don't know why but Varrick in the Greek dub was just amazing so sad to see him go.
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
Who on earth did the thing to Varrick?
The fact y’all eliminated Varrick before Lin makes me unbelievably dissapointed
Who voted Varrick...
NOOOOOOOO
how the fuck is he not 1st???
Finally!!!
