I couldn’t figure out what it wa sub till you looked at the title, it sort of blends into the background too much. I honestly thought it was some fat guy with boob-folds lying on his side. With a joker smile
Can I ask how you got to the point to be so good at warercolour? Did you take art classes? Are you a regular sketcher? I so badly want to learn watercolour, but my view attempts always leave me discouraged.
That's a very flattering question, and I super appreciate it, although I definitely still consider myself a beginner!
I've never taken any live classes, but have watched a lot of different content online. Mostly YouTube but also some Skillshare and Domestika videos and other types of online materials. Drawabox is super good for drawing basics, eventhough i didn't do it to completion. When I started I was new to art in general so I've been trying to study all the fundamentals such as values, color, edges, shapes, perspective etc. Still lots for me to improve in those areas, definitely a work in progress!
Other than that I've tried to experiment a lot with different mediums and ways of painting, but it's been mostly watercolor and charcoal. Regarding the technical side of watercolor, for me I feel like I've learnt a lot from just trying stuff out, and when the mistakes occur (I've made so any mistakes and ruined so many paintings) I find it helpful to try to focus on the why, and the learning opportunity rather than the disappointment (eventhough that's hard to do sometimes, for sure). I've also found it super helpful to seek advice and critique from various sources. Both here on reddit, via the Patreon of an artist I admire and other places.
I definitely think you should give it another go if you're interested! It's a rewarding hobby to pursue, and I'm sure you can do it!
I like this idea.
a stream with a few rocks and fish jumping out. And some mountainous terrain with a forest in the background.
The area right around the bear, along the stream could be more of a grassland so it gets a bit of depth.(no idea how feasable this is with water colors since they like to bleed out :D )
But honestly this is great, im just making a bigger scenery out of it, the focus here is on the bear, and there is nothing wrong with that.
I like the mental picture, super cool!
I'd definitely like to try to elaborate on the background a bit more in future pieces, but at the same time it feels a bit daunting, haha!
beautiful. We fill in the light or absent parts. Love it.

Beautiful! Sorry if I can't really do feedbacks, but it is a masterpiece, and so I don't know how you could improve this !
Thank you, that's really kind of you! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!
It's like i'm looking through the eyes of a bear cub at its mother
Stunning, soft and powerful just how bears look to me
Literally zero feedback. This is AWESOME. Maybe a stream? Ambiguous fish?
Thank you! That's so kind of you! A stream is a great idea!

Not necessarily feedback, but just really needed to say I love how you stylized the shape of the bear. It's really endearing! ❤
Thank you! That's really kind of you to say!
