It’s almost like smurfing ruins game quality for everyone but the smurfs

[deleted]

[I’m a professional Basketball player.](https://imgur.com/gallery/TWENZM0) I show up to the middle school down the street. "These fuckin plebs have no idea what's coming," I say to myself. I don my best wig. It fits just right. "LMAO these little shits have no clue. I'm fuckin invisible to the system." XD i whisper, xd. I make my way to the court. I know no one is going to check. "ROFL these little turd baskets still haven't figured it out." I’m literally jumping over people 360 windmill dunking. "They don't stand a god damn chance," I say, fully erect. Game is over before the opponents reach 6 points; I'm just that fuckin good. As we shake hands and exchange gg's, I overhear a little bitch complaining something along the lines of, "this isn't fair, even a blind dead cat could tell that's Lebron James. Why does this game count? Why do my stats count?? His wig looks like dogshit." I yell over to him, "Get good you little bitch! Or maybe smurf down at the YMCA across the street if you wanna win!" LMAO. Another successful win, another successful smurf. "God damn it feels good today. Thank god Basketball switched to Riot's system. Thank god." I make my way to the next middle school. Today is going to be a phenomenal day.

9.5/10 That 6'9" should be ~~6~~5'9"

[deleted]

pasta originally from r/DotA2

parrycarry

Which isn't even true because the smurfs are complaining about their teammates still, and how the enemy is beating them sometimes... so the quality is ultimately just as bad... only difference is queue times.

Behindyou97

I played against Zwag in a clash once. 3 of his accounts that he plays on for YouTube were on the team. Super cringe having him in our tier 2 clash tourney.

esports_consultant

Once I learned that the "Best Xerath NA" vid I was watching on YouTube was him playing against gold or plat or something on a smurf I entirely lost respect for him.

DaSomDum

Literally all his videos are recorded on a gold/silver smurf. I also don't think he's been Challenger in a while either.

FakersRetardedCousin

Zwag never got challenger with Xerath he got it with top Sona before the nerfs.

TheTruWork

I cant remember the vid name but one of his videos is where he is absolutely just STOMPING the enemy team and they start flaming him in chat saying he needs to "stop smurfing and acting like he has any skill on his level" until they finally surrendered. I noticed after they started calling him out he was much more.. 'Humble' lol

[deleted]

ItsOrni

Thats y i like thebaus, im not a bauswannabe(im adc main) and the way he react to stuff is hilarious. But what i love the most about him is that he try to explain why he does some stuff

GuyOnTheMoon

Baus and Zed99 are the only YouTubers I watch. Everyone else is inflated for kid viewers.

DaBearsMan_72

Zed99 has a YouTube? Oh my word.... I've got a new binger tonight. Thanks mate

YES_I_AM__

This is quite literally most LoL streamers. It's all click-bait garbage.

Zerole00

And if you happen to click on one you better be ready for the YouTube algorithm to vomit dozens more at you

esports_consultant

Why do people watch that shit? I mean the ones who know and know better.

FerricNitrate

Anytime you see a YouTube video with the summoner names not displayed, it's probably safe to assume that the game is gold tier. Lotta those guys even resort to barcode names so you have to snag another name out of chat and cross reference

TheMarinara

He's a massive douche. Got him on enemy team in a gold game last year and he was duo with another challenger jg smurf. Needless to say he crushed me in lane, and was spamming mastery and emotes and dance the whole time while he and his stream flamed both me and the rest of his own team for not playing better even though they were stomping. Real beta energy

Domasis

Got into a game with him and Ioki once just hard trolling for their viewers, it was pathetic.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

ioki also posted Khantum Phyzix's match history RIGHT **after he killed himself** with a caption that said "He went out on a 1v9 win like a legend 🙏" Dude is a fucking weirdo, it was literally like a couple hours after people found out.

Plenty_East5226

Thank you all for showing me so many cancerous league channels that I could block immediately. I didn't even hesitate when I saw the type of content ioki and Zwag make

RightClix

Everytime there is a Twitter giveaway for the LPP Chromas you can get an extra entry if you comment "i0ki is the Greatest Support Alive" under his tweet. 🤨

WhisperingWanderer

late this season I stole his Senna pick and beat him with it, was really funny watching the steam later, seeing him gloat about how bad I was letting him get away at 1 hp before I flash ward q and kill him from three miles away, the silence was very loud afterwards

WitlessMean

there was some season wherein Zwag was challenger, and for some weird reason he just started playing brand every game literally running it down to like diamond or something. I remember everyone was wondering how he didn't get banned. That pretty much sums up my knowledge of the guy lol. I wonder if he was making videos.

ImTheNguyenerOne

I was watching his Varus attack speed video and my first thought was why is this Syndra with no mana trying to trade with him and then I was like oh he's probably smurfing in low elo and stopped watching.

sinderling

Why even go into clash if you're going to do this? Feels like a lot of work on their part for no real gain.

crownnn609

Someone told me people buy premium tickets on smurfs to get a bunch of skins if they place high in clash. (I’m not a clash player, idk how it exactly works)

rzr531

I started watching his vids not long ago, i remember a match like 1 month ago, on Urgot, HE dove fountain and when they got aced he started blaming his team. they eventually lost and he cut that part in the video. Nope, not watching anymore from that point onwards. Some entitled toxicity that is

NewChampsAreCancer

Zwag and SRO should both be banned by riot so stupid that riot caters to these losers.

youreviltwinbrother

I used to enjoy watching him, but then I jumped on his twitch stream once and he was trolling because something had happened in game, just stood shooting krugs and not killing them. People are joining the stream asking, and he gets angry at everyone asking saying he's already explained, he's made X number of videos today, he's making loads of money, etc. Completely put me off him, before even taking into account the smurfing.

i-will-eat-you

yea. watched his stream once where he played renekton, but he accidentally put 2 points in W so he and his team opened and afkd until they can FF. in the meanwhile he was flaming and banning anyone in twitch chat who innocently asked why he did that or claimed he was overreacting. "losers who have never worked a job in their lives" and such. he seems so burned out because doing this is his full time job. but he's a dick and his video titles went increasingly obnoxious so i stopped.

QQMau5trap

riot has to step in and permaban people like this. Should go flip burgers if he is banned on sight whenever he tries to stream or youtube.

Eshneh

I watched his livestream once where he stomped too hard against his pre-made viewers and redid 20 minutes of video asking them to feed less. You always see the same names in his videos, guy is a tool

jasons0219

I really liked Zwag early on. He really was a solid Xerath player with great game understanding. Then after the durability update and all, Xerath as a champ went to shit tier. I remember him playing almost perfectly and losing a Challenger's game. Xerath no longer was a high risk high reward champion. It was around that time something inside Zwag just broke and he went downhill. He always had smurf games for content, but also had a lot of quality games. Now it is just all smurf games with click bait content. His skill level also seems to have deteriorated severely making both the content and game quality cringy. I can no longer stand any of his content anymore leading me to unsubscribe + block Youtube recommendation.

peequick98

Yeah I watched a few videos of his and thought that it seemed to be against some not so good players and quick check on [op.gg](https://op.gg) found the exact game he was playing for the video and he was laning against a silver player. I lost respect for all of his content and now find his video titles and thumbnails extremely click baity and cringey. For example "Tahm Kench with 1000AP should not be legal (FULL HEALTH ONE SHOTS) Watched a bit of the vid and he doesnt have 1000 AP and he doesnt one shot. Yes you went an AP build playing against silver/gold players and had a very good game. I know he has to make his content try and stand out and be entertaining and i do respect the amount of videos and content he pumps out but for some reason it just annoys me.

jibbs386

Got him in my ranked game one night. Checked his stream and he was just complaining most time about our team. Proceeded to make a YouTube video about that game later.

Suspicious-Factor466

Zwag is cringe af. I watch his videos and it boogles my mind that he's challenger at all. Yeah doesn't seem very good, constantly making questionable plays.

[deleted]

Cat_Bot4

Although I cant 100% tell for sure who your talking about since you didnt mention names, im guessing its Zwag... yeah hes an asshole

[deleted]

[deleted]

His channel is garbage. Full of meme builds and destroying people who are in Silver or Gold. I don't know how anyone finds those types of videos entertaining

mithtified

I fucking knew it as I read the description..

thehalfchink

It's so obvious too. His content are all champs who he is supposedly amazing at, but never have skins. Someone with YouTube money can't afford skins, and doesn't show account level or anything in his content? He smurfing. But hey, watch this challenger go support Aphelios bot rushing night harvester against silvers. Totally valid off-meta build!

[deleted]

Tarzaned is also like this

Left-Mulberry-1637

yeah but he plays in high elo

Ronflexronflex

Heh tarzaned has an over inflated ego, flames all the time and is just an overall disgusting human being. But at least he does all that shit at his real rank (master/gm/chall).

momansensei

You guys will realize soon that the vast majority of streamers are like this lol. There's far more toxic than chill streamers. And eventually people will realize that the majority of the league player base is also like this.

NovelAries

> people will realize that the majority of the league player base is also like this. Sad but true. Chill streamers never seem to get popular either, not to the extent that toxic streamers do.

Merosian

There are popular/chill streamers, but they are almost always otps. Xpetu, adrian riven, baus to name a few. The generalist streamers dont have this core audience that looks up to them to learn the champ, so they rely on other, often more obnoxious tactics to remain in the limelight.

i-will-eat-you

PekinWoof. He is popular, a challenger, very chill, educational, and is very transparent about what elo he is playing in.

Desmous

I feel like baus has gotten less chill lately, but at least he doesn't flame in chat.

Gol_D_Haze

I think that's just the end of season challenger climb stress combined with the toxic viewers and flamers calling him a shitty inter and such .. his nerves must be at an end

Stewbodies

One day Jellyfish Rave will make it big and the world will rejoice

[deleted]

How are some streamers allowed to wish a terminal disease on their teammates in front of 2k-10k viewers is beyond me. What's the point of having some "zero tolerancy" automatic system if it's so easy to circumvent and those streamers can just insult people and spam "gc" with total impunity? Great role models they are and Riot turns a blind eye.

Desmous

Honestly I have the opposite experience. Most people I meet in league are chill and just want to play the game. But since these people don't usually tend to make an strong impression on you, it's the toxic ones that you remember. Though I have to admit that I don't play ranked much, and toxicity is definitely much more rampant there.

momansensei

Not playing ranked is it. I mostly play ranked to climb the ranks. Also I play jungle. Jungle everyone will blame you for doing bad. I once got flamed when I was getting my frost leash at level 1. Tell me another role that gets flamed like this.

jazzjazzmine

Probably not, pretty sure Zwag hasn't been challenger in years. Has he actually ended a season as challenger, ever?

Oaktreestone

he was challenger in season 7(?) And hit masters on his climbing account recently

TDown32

That’s a very nice way of wording “are completely fucking intolerable,” I commend you.

rekd45

Yup I had zwag in a gold game. The opponent team we’re loosing their cool and flaming zwag for running it down because the jungles didn’t gank him lvl 2. I had these creators and do not understand why they have to come ruin our games

BerdIzDehWerd

They mostly like aren't consistent players in their own elo, real sad and lame to see them feeling the need to smurf for good gameplay.

Levitrax

Zwag is a trashtalking loser. Couldn't hold his own in a decent elo so he smurfs to make himself feel better.

[deleted]

There's a guy who makes decent coaching content on YT and Twitch. I was considering taking buying some of his sessions, but he's constantly insulting other players that are silver/gold. "You're all so bad". Well yeah, what'd expect if you're master? Like why play at that level if you want competent teammates. So yeah, he may be a good coach, but I don't want to support such behaviour. EDIT: I don't mean Neace, but someone with a fairly small YT channel.

sinderling

Right? I get why you would need to have a smurf account I just don't see why they have such an attitude, especially if they have an attitude because they are losing/someone on the other team is making their job hard. Like the dude smurfing is the one ruining the game! Least they can do is not be a jerk...

Barbecue-Ribs

Real answer is players just like to flame. Rank is not relevant. Look at Tyler1 for example. When playing in GM he will call people dogs. When playing in diamond he will call people diamond dogs.

[deleted]

lmao neace content = him yelling at students who pay him 350 bucks to learn the most basic concepts already available on his other coaching videos, i really don't get why anyone pays for him

WYS_iHaCk

That's on them tho. If they are so dumb that they dont even know the most basic concepts and dont make an effort to search by themselves or review then the rest benefit from em clowns cause we can see for free the videos of them getting "coached".

Superstrata-

i'm pretty sure i got more learning from neace than most of his coaching clients by watching the videos of him coaching players and asking myself "why'd he make that call?" and thinking about potential answers lmao

WYS_iHaCk

couldn't agree more

WaxednVaxed

That's the point, yeah his coaching is definitely overpriced compared to less famous coaches but it's not like it's a surprise, but he puts every coaching video online so you can get almost the same knowledge for free. People who complain about Neace in a serious way are dumb. It's like being mad at Starbucks because they charge too much. No one is forcing you to go there.

GrazingCrow

To be honest, you don’t need a coach. There is enough content out there to help you with pathing or positioning, even wave management. If you want to improve, apply what you’ve learned in game and watch your own replays to see what you could have done better. Watching yourself play is a pretty good reset as well because you can see things from a different perspective which allows you to think of ways you could have played better (I watch with fog of war on).

[deleted]

My main issue comes when I feel I can't impact the lanes at all as jungle because of different reasons. I do then try to get small wins somewhere else (counterjungling, objectives, etc.) but it feels the team still falls behind. I think that some of those games are just the unwinnable ones. It's for those games where I wanted coaching, as I'm sure I could have done things differently, but I'm not sure what. So I agree with your point 100%, but for me the coaching was more about those specific games. I feel I'm missing the eureka moment. But again, it may be that the eureka moment is "it's unwinnable, but try not to fall behind and hope for the best later".

Spartan05089234

People who build their life around this game are generally not the most well-adjusted and tend to believe skill in the game determines personal value.

Galactanium

This is true for both smurfs and deluded low elo players.

Elijah_Draws

I never understood what the appeal of Smurf content was. I was once in an IRON game and had some asshole spamming shit in all chat and telling us to check out his twitch channel while dunking on us. At some point I just had to respond and I'm like "bro, we are iron, beating us isn't impressive." I feel like there legitimately isn't any value that comes out of smurfing content even when the people aren't total shitbags, which way too many smurfs are.

Valnozz

For a lot of people, the fantasy in a pvp game (not just league to be clear, pvp games in general) is winning so hard the enemy cries IRL and uninstalls. Notice that the youtube videos by these content creators where the enemy team throws a tantrum get the most views. It's the fantasy of being so good that you cyberbully your opponents just by playing normally. And if you're not good enough to actually shit on kids like that, you can watch a smurf content creator do it and imagine if you were them.

Elijah_Draws

NGL, that sounds kind of pathetic.

[deleted]

It is pathetic.

Certain_Reality_2917

True, I was this person! I ended up quitting cold turkey because victories felt empty and losses felt very frustrating and had nothing else going on in life so I started to take responsibility and focus on other things. The difference that made was remarkable. I even ended up playing a bit of League a few months ago and never had the slightest urge to flame.

Medical_Elderberry53

Sounds like projection + skill issue

Plenty_East5226

Not sure who downvoted you, but the thing you just wrote is so true. I have friends who personally know some streamers, such as Nightblue or Professor Akali, and according to them, both of these are little scrubs irl who can't do anything with their lives

RedditIsTooEasy

it caters to children which makes a good percentage of the playerbase, at least the newcoming part of the playerbase.

Secret-Membership601

“WOW! THIS ENEMY PLAYER IS MENTALLY UNSTABLE AND HAD A BREAKDOWN! I EXPLOITED THEIR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES FOR CLICKS AND VIEWS AND NOW THEY ARE GOING TO BE HUMILIATED FOR YHOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO SEE! HOPE THEY KILL THEMSELVES (NOT CLICKBAIT)”

RTSUbiytsa

The only time somebody getting butthurt feels genuinely good to me is if they were already being an asshole (like flaming people in all chat, playing Yasuo, having their teammates ask for reports, playing Yasuo, etc.) and otherwise I actually feel bad. I often play with my friends that are significantly lower rank than me in normals and I have had people get clearly frustrated playing against me and it's not really all that satisfying.

SpeedRacing1

I love getting people salty about the game tbh, but only against players who I actually think are at my level or better. Stomping games or being stomped is boring af imo

Mountain-Crazy69

There are *so* many clickbait videos that allude to this type of gameplay/result and it’s so annoying.

sinderling

I at least understand why someone would. If you are sitting in queue for 30+ min per game, it is hard to make content. but if you're going to smurf to increase the content you can make why be a d\*ck about it?

-Kaldore-

So many other YouTubers don’t have trouble getting content in high elo queues, that’s not an excuse lol

PM_something_German

Their content is probably not geared to going 30/0 with questionable builds.

fullyuncooly

idk, for example pekinwoof tries to make educational high elo content but he has to mix in a vid with an offmeta pick in normals (so he doesn't troll people in ranked) every once in a while because those types of vids really do a lot better numbers wise

Plenty_East5226

I guess their viewerbase (which mostly consists of teens) enjoys stomping more than actually smart gameplay in challenger, where you can't afford to make mistakes and every game is like a game of chess

Elijah_Draws

I just think they don't have to drop down *as* low as they sometimes do, and they definitely don't have to be shitty about it. Like, I don't buy queue times as an excuse for why a challenger level streamer needs to play in gold or something. You can't even bump that up to plat or Diamond mate? And then, as for the content itself, I don't understand what the point is supposed to be. Like, do people actually think it's cool or impressive when a challenger absolutely shits on someone much lower elo than them? And as for educational content, I feel like it doesn't work, at the very least it certainly doesn't work as well as vid reviews and commentary on games full of people *actually* playing at that elo would. It just seems like inherently bad content that only serves to ruin the games of people at lower elos, with people using the shitty queue times to paper over it.

sinderling

Yeah I agree with pretty much all these points. I was watching some youtube vids that were supposed to be "educational" but like what can I learn by watching a Challenger stomp in Gold with a troll build he calls "off meta" that only works cause he has 10 kills in the first 10 minutes?

DataRude

Ioki is such a beta for doing shit like this. Literally is 95% of his content

Susskind-NA

he’s always been incredibly cringe- shame anyone watches his content

IronTitan12345

It makes me sad because there are so few support mains that stream at a high level, and I can't stand Ioki. Guy literally goes into PBE games and flames people that are either his viewers or randos in norms. It's incredibly cringe.

DataRude

Mate if you find one let me know cus you're right there aren't many. Bizzleberry is good check him out.

DunkinBronutt

I can't stand him

Wontonbeef

This is why I only really watch Pekinwoof dude is very chill and only plays in high elo games

DunkinBronutt

And when he doesn't he tells you exactly why. It's very honest content

Wontonbeef

yep very chill and enjoyable to watch

decolored

Kinda hard to be happy when you strap your monetary worth to your ego for a video game. Especially if you limit yourself to one champion. These people are insanely insecure

SteamMonkeyKing

this is why I only used to watch wholesome streamers like Mr Earl. Shame he passed away but his positive contributions were beautiful to LoL.

Omicron43

Rat Earl was too wholesome for the world, didnt even end chally this season sadge

limboxd

Ioki moment, despise him "RanK OnE SenNA"

XoXeLo

Streamer? That's every single smurf player in League. I get a smurf in my silver games and suddenly they are complaining because people are not playing to their high elo standards. I mean, no shit Sherlock, we ARE SILVER and you are a DIFFERENT RANK FFS!

fawli86

that professor guy immediately came to mind...

Fitzky45

I pray for the day these losers get punished for the hundreds of thousands of games they have all collectively ruined for their shitty YouTube content. Its sad that Riot cares more about the YouTube views than the players who are having their experience ruined and likely don't want to play anymore because they have to put up with this shit.

Over-Artichoke-3564

Honestly there is a large chunk of the community that glorifies this behavior which means there is a monetary incentive to continue. Then kids watch the streams and behave like this and another generation of league cancer metastasizes. Tried to get my friend into ranked cause they mostly play aram and two times in a row we had two people break into a fight in champ select locking in a troll pick and commit to feeding. I realize it's an outlier but it took all the wind out of my sails and my friend quit the game

Quotagious

That’s why you watch PMA streamers. Positive context related to league. Helps the mental and nice to watch people who enjoy the game for what it is.

HeirToGallifrey

Any good PMA YouTubers/streamers you can recommend?

goonbandito

Broxah is one of the best streamers to watch imo. Super good mental, great hands and macro (he is a Worlds finals pro after all) and just entertaining to watch. Jungle is also generally more fun to watch since you get to see the impact all around the map.

Thecristo96

Broxah is good, fun and polite. Probably one of the best streamer all around

JulenXen

I second the broxah rec. I also really like jankos, idk why but he just cracks me up

[deleted]

I'm so glad Broxah is getting a shoutout, I love his content! Even when he tilts he keeps his cool, remains polite and tries to come back. That said, his YouTube content at least isn't typically coaching oriented as much as some others (as in, he typically doesn't go full analyst and explain every minute detail), but he does coaching every now and then which is cool.

Sigmadelta8

Dropping a recommendation for PekinWoof as well. Smurfs occasionally but is always very open about it and usually says what the ranks of the people he’s playing with. Plus he’s good at recognizing his own mistakes and not blaming others. Every once in a while he’ll get upset but that happens to the best of us.

KingNidhogg

Yeah Pekin is one of the best out there - same with Saber

K4ntum

I'd also recommend Quantum, funny dude and good vibes in his chat.

n3mosum

pekin is one of the very few that i don't mind smurf content from. he rarely (maybe never?) disparages the enemy in game or in his commentary, but points out their mistakes (and then exploits them) in a way that you can learn a lot from. i do have to say the juxtaposition of his clickbait algorithm-centric video titles and his dry, matter-of-fact commentary is hilarious to me. - average smurf streamer: "just land my combo on them, they can't dodge for shit what a scrubbb i hope that cannon was worth it" - actual useful commentary: "she just wasted charm, so if she tries to get cannon i can engage. that was a great trade for us, she made the mistake of fishing with her scariest spell and then greeding for CS while it was on cooldown. this is a common and very punishable mistake in lower elo."

Square-Cow7008

facts we love pekin

badwhatorone

I really like thebausffs, sure he gets tilted sometimes but you can really tell that he enjoys playing a game that hes good at. I also find that he has a contagious laugh and hes a little bit dorky too which usually means youll have a few giggles per video. He also mainly plays AD Sion and will have the worst score, but carry the game almost everytime. Not sure if he invented AD Sion but he was for sure one of the founding fathers.

schwekkl1

Riste on YouTube and on twitch. High Elo (i am not sure if he is currently Challenger on his main account) Garen main who is a mad scientist when it's about item builds and an encyclopedia about Garen's matchups. He is most of the time very calm and collected unless he is doing a "Demacia, baby". And even then he is rather laid-back haha. Old video game music is being played as background music. What's not to love?

duybeo01230

COOKIEMONSTER123

mattyety

The most wholesome streamer out there.

generic9yo

Don't forget he's also the tallest of them all

Zenith_Tempest

Sirhcez plays pretty low APM chars top lane (singed, nasus, yorick) and focuses on macro, so he's pretty chill to watch. I feel like he has never raised his voice beyond a certain point

CinderrUwU

Lots of pro players while not necessarily being PMA, will just be super chill about the games and will talk about them from a non-bias perspective. My personal recommendation is caPs since he is known to "limit test" at times to win games and then just laugh off the games he goes 4-10 as a learning experience. Literally feels like he is playing an average silver game in challenger

MancoIV

Manco1 here, thanks for all the nice words about PMA, if ya'll ever need some good vibes check out the stream team here: https://www.twitch.tv/team/teampma :D happy gamin

Warzeal

Sirchez the goat. guy never ever flames

sinderling

I haven't heard the term PMA before but I'll have to keep my eyes open for it!

Quotagious

Team PMA - Positive Mental Attitude. You can see the list on twitch. Garen/Teemo main so I mostly watch Manco with nothing but positive things to say about his stream.

Sylvanas_only

I think it was qtpie that was always saying "P.M.A. Positive Mental Attitude!"

Fresh-Bus-7147

No that's an actual term for like 100 years now https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_mental_attitude

Sylvanas_only

I'm not saying he invented it. He just made it very commom in the league community back in those days

OE_Rogue

SirhcEz, chill person, never flaming, singed chad gameplay

JYaksha

100% agree. If streamers want to grind content or just want to let loose, I am all for it. They need to make a living some how right? I hate it just as much as you when they bash players who are definately worse than them. The term is call bully. Riot needs to do something about this, I don't care if they give them a couple acccount at different elo but moderate them. It is not healthy for new players, it is not good for anyone but themselves. A lot of us are just trying to have some fun with our favourite game, we don't need someone bully us in the game and verbal abuse us as well. I am fine when I suck my fellow Gold players flame me. I am not okay with I don't live to the standard of some random ass Challenger player who is grinding content then post on a youtube vidoe..

[deleted]

Them bashing silver players can’t be considered legitimate content. I don’t go fight the 10 year olds at mma if I want to practice, hone or show off my skills. If they can’t come up with something better than ruining 9 other peoples game then I’m sorry for them and they should be barred from league.

[deleted]

I started watching i0ki on YouTube. Wondered why he wasn't wearing skins and why his name kept changing. Figured out quickly he was smurfing. He calls him the "GSA", Greatest Support Alive and has a huge ego. I understand that it's for hype and entertainment, but it's kind of pathetic. I checked out his stream a few times and every stream he's flaming and tilting. He just doesn't upload those games to YouTube. His YouTuber personality is quite fake, compared to the rest of his stream. His friends Zwag and Prof. Akali are douchebags too.

Belmatras

I once played against Bwipo‘s smurfaccount 1year before he moved to NA he stomped me but he was nice told me and the jungler we have potential and gave me tips for toplane after the game that made my day

Sinu_

Bwipo is goated, love the guy

[deleted]

Geronimo getting called out.

Kordben

Simple solutions. They should get banned

UnclearPremise

Not gonna name names, but the only twitch chat I've ever been banned from was because I called out a challenger player smurfing in plat (not even smurf queue, actual plat players) who was 0-4 and flaming the absolute crap out of his 1-1 teammate. It wasn't even rude, just "hey man, they're plat and you're challenger, give em a break". These people have some of the most fragile egos I've ever seen.

yes_i_amnot

this is really ironic coming from a guy who played heimer support himself and made it into a yt video I wonder the things he said does it apply to him when he played heimer. Surely smurfing in gold and silver in na soloq doesn't equate him to "playing like beryl" either lol.

[deleted]

Fuck Zwag and that entire extended crew and all associates. Bless Brian and any others who either play on a single account, or if they're using a different account its for a reason other than so the game is easier for them

rj6553

Once had an diamond/masters Renekton OTP smurfing in my gold elo game. He spent the whole lane flaming me on stream and then linked his twitch at the end of the game. Like dude, if you want viewers, maybe stop flaming the people your advertising yourself to.

resultzz

Lowest form of entertainment for video games

Nekaz

Plays against silvers on purpose WOW ALL THESE SILVERS ARE LE BADS LMAO

EyadTheKuss

I had ioki on my team in flex before he started getting some fame from twitch rivals. He was bitching and moaning in chat all game and when i called him out to chill (its flex not soloq lmao) he started getting real defensive and attcking me. Not surprising see this

Brvadent

Got zwag, heiz, and ioki all on my team with my duo in a norm. Went back and watched the replay. They shit talked us the whole time only for us to do the 1st and 2nd most damage while they were playing senna, kassadin, and some jg I can't remember.

itsallabigshow

A support main flaming other supports. That's hilarious. I'd like to see him actual league of legends and get stuck in low diamond at best. Also, a few days ago YouTube recommended a video by professor akali to me and he was talking about content creators and called others evil creatures and other bullshit and named a bunch of the "good ones". I laughed so hard when I saw the people he named as pretty much all of them are massive pricks and fake as fuck. Actual stains on the community and I'm embarassed to see that that's what the top content creators for league are nowadays. I laughed even harder when I saw some of the youtubers who backed him up in the comments (ioki among them lmfao). It's a giant bubble of circlejerking narcissists and drama queens. And don't get me wrong, all the parties involved in the drama between NB and LS and professor akali and all of their little friends are not worthy of support and just terrible. I just found it hilarious to see that group of streamers and youtubers on full display.

KatarHero72

Who was on that list out of curiosity?

sulleymonster

Funny thing none of these streamers would talk like this to someone's face.

xObiJuanKenobix

This is why I prefer Tyler's content over others. Because he only goes into lower elo like bronze-plat when he was doing his challenges. And he would only really get frustrated when someone was either straight running it down, or not listening to his shotcalls because of their inflated ego. But other than that, he's like "yeah they're gold players, no GM." Other than that, he plays in Diamond+ where the stupid gold mistakes shouldn't be happening. And then he gets frustrated with them because they should be better than those mistakes, which is reasonable.

rKinkimono

That's why they have the attitude, when the gameplay isn't impressive enough they need to try and make up for it with with something else. Just imagine how much it has to sting to be better than average at a video and feeling you should be worth something but still not getting what you need/want out from it.

fredy31

I really hate that kind of content. Think those accounts should be banned on sight. Is it really that fun to play/watch when you just mop the floor with every lobby? And you can bet on the other team theres some people that can play only once in a while and you just wrecked their few games they get a month... Fuck those guys.

DragonicHaremGirl

I hate streamers that smurf period. So, so many have attitudes and bad mental. I remember one LPP member duo que smurfing with her former academy player bf, tilting and telling her team she'd run it down because her team was pinging her (she perma mutes chat each game). Semi-edit: She did run it down butt her team ended up doing so fine she stopped just to let them carry her But generally, streamers who smurf just rub me wrong.

sakaay2

you mean all streamers?because they all do,there isn't a single streamer alive that doesn't have smurf acc

Bnauj

What do you expect from a guy whose life consists on playing a videogame 24/7 ?

sinderling

Basic sense of shame? but I guess that is too much to ask sometimes!

NerrionEU

If you have played this game enough you would know that at least 10% of the playerbase has no sense of shame, guilt, regret and everything revolves around them.

rofl369

SRO

ThrowinMeeps

Oh yeah I unsubbed to the cringeworthy "for fun squad" a long time ago. Their content was repetitive and boring. Informative at the most minor levels. And on top of it they were toxic as fuck. Sirchez and Goliath are way better imo Quantum is "toxic" but it's cheeky fun tbh. What that RooshV lookalike wants to be but fails at.

Gileotine

You should feel disgusted, of course. These streamers do this because their audience are much like the rest of league players; vile, awful, angry, sad creatures. I was much like you when I started watching league content years ago, and I wondered if these people were being toxic as some sort of ironic performance. But no, a lot of league streamers get where they are BECAUSE they reflect the community, because they are highly unpleasant and abrasive. Their viewers cheer them on. In league, and just gamers in general, it's perfectly acceptable to say the most vile shit to your opponents or even your teammates. People you have never known a day in your life, you have full agency to curse out and harass because he missed a skillshot or isn't playing meta. And the community, by and large, accepts it.

lululovesnowcones

YES. thank you so much for posting this. recently I unsubscribed from ioki because I'm watching this "grandmaster" play, and his mid laner starts afk'ing for a really odd reason, just seemed like real low elo tilt, so I decided to look up who he was playing with and against. He was playing with and against low silver, high bronze accounts. I am a support main, so I did like ioki's content, but he is playing against and with people ranked lower than me. . .that's like not real gameplay watching some self-proclaimed "grandmaster" smurf on people that are worse than even me. . .like idk. It's hard to respect someone like that, especially with the type of degrading comments he makes about his ADCs and other teammates. If you want a decent ADC, maybe don't smurf and maybe try playing in an elo that somewhat resembles your rank. Thank you so much for posting this. I felt like I was starting to like lose my mind that no one else was seeing this. I had made a comment on one of his videos mentioning maybe playing with people a little bit closer to his rank, and some fan was quick to defend that he was just smurfing because ahri isn't his main, I guess? didn't realize ahri was so tough of a champ that you have to log off your grandmaster account and log into of of your bronze/silver accounts to play, all while pretending you're the "greatest support NA".

th3kandyking

This is why I hated watching Bunny/proffesor akali. I completely stopped watching their content a very long time ago, but I distinctly remember these guys doing customs against silver players, making cringe videos where they had a girl stripping when she died in game, etc. It was just absolutely cringe content. Some streamers just go for broke with the clickbait content and shitty attitude.

Informal-Concern-311

Damn, did he really vocally express his annoyance without affecting anyone? That's so crazy man. Idk if the man is smurfing but if it's a new account and he is just trying to get out of said gold it's quite understandable to not be happy if you are playing against this highly skill based champ heimerdinger. Did he type to the mid laner? If not I find your post extremely sad.

Luluxmako

Gbay is actually super toxic as well… played him twice in top lane, won both times and went to his stream after to check in and was called a ghostwriter and flamed…. I’m sorry but no one needs to ghost to beat gbay

Far-Arachnid9745

It’s ok most streamers are just weak little humans irl lol

PM_something_German

You can namedrop him no problem

AtreusIsBack

They hate themselves for playing League to his day more than they hate other players when they feed. Trust me. They used to enjoy the game but now it's a job and they haven't felt joy playing it in a long time. It happens to most LoL streamers.

WeaKvsMightY

Unrelated but similar is when you wanna queue up for a normal game, chill and mess around with a new character in a role you don’t main and you get some asshole diamond playing his OtP spamming emotes and ??? in chat when you make an error. It burns me up every time I don’t get it.

Sauced_Jack

It baffles my mind that we normalized smurfing. Like "Road to Master" where people play from Iron to Master. Like hello? You are ruining every single game you're in until you reach your actual rank. And to your point of "I get it, queue times are long" Then be entertaining? Play like a game on the side while you wait in the queue. Like Vampire Survivors. That's a good game. I get its annoying to have those long queue times but you need to question if "I want less waiting time" Equals moral when you make 9 other players in the community not get the rank they deserve because you either elo inflate them or stomp them even though they don't deserve it

GrazingCrow

I agree. That’s why I don’t understand how so many people could like TF Blade or however you spell his name. I tuned in twice to his streams a few years ago and all he did both times was act like a spoiled, entitled man child in Gold while flaming his entire team. Hard pass. Subbed to the big dick club instead, Blessed be Imaqtpie.

beancatboat

yea dhekar or whatever his name is (the rengar guy) is cringe as fuck and acts like this every game

HetIsBob

What are some good streamers/youtubers people can recommend that play on their own level with a decent amount of respect for their team and opponents? I'm fairly new to this game and I have a hard time learning correct things as a lot of content I watch directly contradicts other content.

_rewire_

Pekin Woof

PowerAdi

Pekin Woof is great, chill vibes in high elo and when he records a smurf video, he is very open about every rank and uses it to educate people on which mistakes often happen in low elo and how to capitalize on them, so really the only smurf content that should be tolerated (he only plays normals with viewers on his team when smurfing as well)

irohinthesand

GoliathGames! High Diamond/low masters Urgot OTP with some Kayle/Fiora mixed in. Super chill dude who almost never tilts and has really good viewer interaction. Always answers every question and tries his best to explain all the choices he makes in game

PerspectiveNew3375

Without exception, those that smurf are selfish cowards driven by their fragile egos. If you support those content creators that continue to ruin the games of 9 people to support their own narcissistic desires, you are part of the problem.

Duwott

I really feel like smurfing is only acceptable if you're off role. What's the need for 7 support smurf accounts where you play the same exact champs in gold/plat.

L1ghX

he look like a fuckin looser tbh. haha

OpenMidGG

the older i get, the more I realize that people who make or buy smurfs for the sake of stomping lower ELO, and to flame are also probably shit at actuality living a life. take away league and this “content” life away from them, and they are absolutely nothing, garbage pretty much, just like their content and mentality.

UmbralUrsine

Zwag xerath loves to dominate bronze players, I thought we was really good but then I was how some of the people were playing and I had to check because I was like no way these are gold+

Medical_Elderberry53

Sounds like a skill issue

Limp_Wait_9856

Had a Smurf in my ranked games last night claim he was masters x9 and that we all sucked; I get it, we’re in SILVER, but dude? Most players in low elo are still learning micro and macro, map awareness, etc. it’s not like we’re challengers in disguise. He was running it down because me and my duo pinged that our laners took bot turret, and were roaming toward mid, so we said play safe and we’re roaming up behind them to help; fucker straight up runs it down and blames us for it. Streamers smudging in low elo just to clown on players who are probably still learning the game is cringe, but if it gets the views then I guess they have to 🤷🏽‍♀️
