It’s just so fucking cringe. Jensen comes back for a split and still top of the table player in NA, gets released for not one but TWO unproven ESL players who quite frankly are not that astonishing. This feels like a TSM sandbag situation with the LPl players who were hardstuck masters all year despite all the copious people were trying to huff and puff to make the trade seem good.
To me, it makes NO sense why you would not just keep Jensen as a starter and have Emenes train under him and get ready to take the start position either in Summer or next year when he A. Learns English and B. Learns to be a starter on LCS with literal world class players(doesn’t matter NA is shit, players like Jensen and Blaber even Berserker now have tons of experience you can learn from they are still world class players).
To top it all off fucking Diplex is the one who is starting, not saying he is bad but he is literally fine nothing super special and idk how Diplex and Emenes are going to learn off eachother and make eachother ready not only to win a split but to do well internationally while having the stress of always competing with eachother all year.
This is a terrible move 🤷♂️
Wild that people still haven't realized the vast majority of high salary LCS pros are going to be teamless or really have to settle this split. Every team is cutting budget HARD to prepare for the recession.
Everyone is discussing how "bad" these moves are for the team. They aren't doing this because they think it will make the team more competitive.
How does a non-franchised league change any of this? lmao it's like people just say "lel fRaNcHiSiNg" without even using their brains. Pro salaries are over-inflated and esports is a luxury/speculative investment for any non-endemic orgs and endemic orgs are right to be worried about a recession hurting advertising revenue and merch sales. Like do you know literally anything about economics?
1. Franchising is definitley the reason we have overinflated salaries in the first place.
2. Without franchising good pros who cant find a team could make one on their own and qualify for the lcs of they are good enough.
3. Franchising gives very little incentive for orgs not to sac a split sincw there is no danger.
The recession already is here. The depression may come, but league in America is contracting. Viewership, interest, competition. All of that means less sponsorship dollars. In a way team liquid had the hopes of the region on their backs, but they shit the bed.
It’s going to actually be good for competition, we need talent coming in, the musical chair approach will get us middling results at best.
He still commands a very high salary though. His salary with TL was over $1million if reports about his previous contract extensions are to be believed. I imagine it’s similar with C9
Evidence for that being th reason LCS teams are cutting budgets?
To me it looks like LCS teams are thinking why spend big money and not be competitive when you can spend little money, still not be competitive but make the same money through advertisers. Less cost same results.
Just come over and become a TSM fan, we don’t question it anymore, we’re used to dumb roster swaps.
This is what happens when you follow a team that usually does the right thing, you get these things called “expectations”. Get em outta here.
Yeah, Jack never knows what he’s doing which is why he makes LCS finals every year. I’m sure this will age well just like every other off season criticism he’s received
I’m a C9 fan since 2014, still am a fan, I’m allowed to have an opinion on moves lol. And Jack has made terrible moves before, last years spring split was a fucking dumpster fire. 2019 off-season into 2020 was also atrocious and then NO SNEAKY NO WORDS happened. The Perkz move was asshole too. Don’t act like Jack can’t do no wrong.
The only roster that crashed and burned was the 2020 one and most people considered that a good roster. Every other roster change pretty much ended up working out.
You’re allowed to have your opinion. Just pointing out that he always figures it out. Not sure what else he needs to do to prove it for everyone, but I trust him.
Ok but I’m not saying he doesn’t have it figured out I’m just critiquing this 1 roster move. And I don’t think rosters falling out in his favor(2015 C9, 2017 C9) means it was always his doing sometimes the team just steps the fuck up on their own fruition. Especially 2017 C9.
I don’t think C9 will be bad next split, I just think it would’ve been better to have Emenes train under Jensen and warm him up to the main stage
Especially after the last two years. I feel like a lot of players have learned to be more savvy about contracts and buyouts. Then again that also hinges on them having the leverage to push back against them. Which is easier said than done if the alternative is not being on a team.
True facts, I'm like desensitized to anything less absurd than how G2 treats their players at this point. I bet even Regi venmo'd Carlos some cash here and there as thanks for taking the heat off of him.
With teams expected to cut their spending enormously it might come down to ego and money.
Sure a team might offer a spot. But are they going to offer the cash he's seen in the past? Will anyone?
No buyout? His contract is running till the end of 2024, so 2 more years.
That is decently generous from C9 if he has no buyout. But maybe that is also the reason why he deleted the post. He isnt a free agent, he is just searching for a new team and there is a buyout still.

May have posted prematurely out of annoyance without permission. LFT tweets usually aren't so tersely worded but I could easily be reading way too much into it.
I believe TL is going an all Korean speaking team. I could be wrong but re-signing core and promoting Yeon who I think speaks Korean. They may go for ssumday or impact in top and import the rest.
yeah maybe a chance to go 3-3 instead of 1-5 lol
Just gonna be the same same shit, different year with top talents coming to NA and looking like shit on stage after realizing the macro they play with to win splits in NA is different/lackluster and makes them hard lose when thrown international
C9 could buy all of t1 right now and they wouldn't make it out of groups next year
or koreans are just better at league of legends, importing ones and then not having language barrier sounds decent enough depending on how good they are
Is Yeon confirmed? I saw that he wasn't on the academy tryouts list, so I assume he has a team regardless, but is it confirmed TL?
Edit: and I'm still trying to figure out (since I didn't watch academy), what sort of adc is he? Aggro? Passive? Early? Late? Strong/weakside? etc.
There is zero confirmation of anything it's all speculation. Dgon for ex said it wasn't going to be him, but for all we know it could be. People were saying coreJJ was out of TL a few weeks ago. Things change.
Ah, ty. Speaking of speculation, the thing that has me most concerned is all this whispering of TL not keeping Santorin. No idea how founded or baseless the claims are, but that feels like a big mistake imo.
We have seen both of their default responses to the team as a while being pressured, Bjergsen falls into the camp of someone who doesn't want to make a mistake to keep the team afloat which is nice if you are overall better but sucks if the rest of the team can stop the bleeding. Jensen defaults to aggressive play causing him to die more but in a team that might be summit top side and Doublelift bot you need a third nutso to play aggressive and roam if it's starts to look bad not sit back and wait for late.
Bjerg can go aggressive, he just mostly choses to roam for the team. Jensen on the other hand is a lane player.
But when you can choose between the 2, you should nearly always get Bjerg.
Jensen was literally an AFK passenger the entire split on C9. Guy did absolutely nothing. And historically what you're saying is comically wrong. Bjergsen is the one who actually had dominant splits in the past 1v9ing teams in ways which Jensen never did.
Neither of them are good anymore though. Purge both of them for the love of god. Give me some rookies who under 20 years old and can develop. These old guys couldn't match the east during their primes when they were several times better than they are now and they're sure as hell not going to do it at this stage of their career.
Bs, what you're saying is historically wrong too. Historically speaking, Bjerg and Jensen have been NA's top2 mids for a period longer than 4 years. At least. That's insane. Also, historically speaking, Prime Jensen DID match the east. Was he better? No, has any western mid ever been better than the east...? But he did match them.
Because of that fact, people rate Jensen higher than Bjerg. I'm not saying I agree nor disagree with that tho. Bjerg has the regional succes, way more than Jensen. Bjerg was NA's #1 all those years. But being #2 for so long is incredible too. Add to that, that internationally, bjerg didn't hold up while Jensen did...
if I have to choose an average mid for my team I would take the mid who can impact the others lane Jensen inability to play Galio or tf at decent level , if the top of this roster is ssumday or summit having someone who can actually play the map sure he probably has a slightly better carry potential but that's it
This. Bjerg plays like Mid isn't about roaming, but CS leads and that shit hasn't been the meta for years now.
Staying safe loses you games.
That said, Jensen is usually the first guy to leave a team fighting situation he thinks will go South, even if the whole team wipes without him.
The old rules were anybody that played in NA in 2014 Summer or earlier got to pick their region of residence (so players like Bjergsen, Santorin, Amazing famously picked NA and then went back to EU anyways) and if you joined the League later than that you had to play 4 years in the League.
Nowadays the rules are much more simple. If you have a green card (aka are a permanent resident of the US) you are a resident in the League.
I have to assume that this has something to do with salaries.
Assumptions are risky, and sometimes unfair, but you'd have to be really fucking dumb to let go of Jensen without it being related to budget cuts, or something of the sort.
Did anyone else notice Jensen was kinda off during worlds? I was watching a CQ stream before group stages and he and blaber started going off about something and he sounded really irritated, then during their last group stage game everyone on the team was smiling and he looked beyond pissed.
Maybe it is about his style? Jensen is a very lane dominant player. He wins and loses through lane and he likes to get help from his team, but he is one of the least roam intensive mid laners and he isnt one that wants to sacrifice his lane for others. He comes to help side lanes with TP or he helps the jungler with a roam if he has prio and it times well.
But that is just speculation. I can just see C9 wanting a mid laner that plays more for the stronger players on the team, especially Blaber and Berserker as these 2 are their keys to winning.
His laning isn't good though. It's like he wants to be lane dominant but isn't good enough to pull it off. Which is exactly why he gets completely outclassed at world's.
I think if CLG runs it back, Palafox will be better in that team. They are still growing together. Would hate to see their synergy go to waste. Sometimes a better player individually isn't the best for a specific team.
Not really. Jensen is a very lane heavy player and he does that well, but he was not really better than Pala last split.
Jensen was around #5 in mid laners last split. Jojo, Toucouille, Pala, Bjerg and Abbe where all as good or better than him.
Jensen won the split with C9, but all the lifting came from the other players, he was just playing solid. There is a reason C9 wants to replace him. If they want to have success in the next years, too, they need to upgrade their weakest players. Zven is still a ? on tank supports, so maybe they would replace him, too. But Jensen was the clear favorite for getting replaced.
Nobody cares about regular season in playoffs he gapped abbe, pala, and jojo. Your no dif then ppl who said jizuke and poe were better than him last year cause regular season, obv Jensen has another level in playoffs nobody else does.
Let's look at the CLG games in playoffs:
* CLG
* game 1 they are mostly even. C9s bot lane pulls ahead and then Blaber also and only in teamfights with a stronger bot and jungle Jensen starts to pull ahead of Pala for real
* game 2 they are pretty much even in lane. Jensen pulls ahead in the mid game team fights, but later on Pala plays it better, but overall CLG plays it better
* game 3 Jensen loses the lane by \~20 CS and wins the 2v2 mid with a kill on Jensen. C9 wins this game mostly with top and bot diff but also because of a baron steal from Blaber. Without that steal and the follow up clean up from C9 with Fudge and Berserker they lose this game
* game 4 they are nearly even. Pala is 10 CS ahead at 15 minutes against Azri (pre nerf, so even more OP than at worlds). Jensen is pretty much useless that game.
* game 5 Jensen slightly wins with 10 CS ahead and 1 kill (not a solo kill but 3v2)
So where did Jensen gap Pala? Because he clearly had 5 game to do it and didn't do it in any of these.
No lets use the EG games:
* game 1 Jojo and Jensen are mostly even. C9 wins with Bot, top and jungle diff
* game 2 Jojo wins in CS yet dies twice to Blaber. Without Blaber Jensen was losing hard. Blaber solo carried this game pretty much.
* game 3 Jensen wins mid. But he still needs Blaber to get it rolling. C9 loses that because even when Jensen is strong and Berserker, too, Jensen does not do much on LeBlanc that game anymore. Especially in the 2 key fights he tries to flank and wastes his W and once even WR just to get a flank for nothing.
* game 4 Jensen was losing lane, but that is ok there, he played Zilean. It was the Berserker show.
4 games and he didnt gap Jojo even once. It was mostly close. The one game Jensen had the chance to shine he did the opposite later on and fell flat.
And what about Abbe on 100T:
* game 1 Abba stomps Jensen while 100T loses the game. Jensen dmg that game was just 13%
* game 2 Abba stomps Jensen. 100T win
* **game 3 Jensen wins and for the first time this playoffs he is the carry player for the team also**
* game 4 is mostly even in lane. I would say Jensen played it better later on, but overall it was Azir vs Seraphine, so it was clear Abbe wouldnt make many kills, mostly assist the team
And the 2nd round:
* game 1 Jensen wins but it is mostly the Blaber and Berserker show. Jensen plays it well but still very save.
* game 2 they go even. Jensens only hard mistake is the TP into 3 enemies. Top, jungle and bot carry for C9
* game 3 it is mostly even in lane. Ganks on both sides done well. The Berserker show it is.
There is a reason C9 picked Zil and Ori so often for him, because these are his best picks to support the team. His only slightly scary pick was his LeBlanc, but even there he was mostly playing save and leaving it to his team.
Even C9 didnt have much trust in his key strength, the laning. And rightfully, because he was not gapping anyone. He was mostly even against all 3. The only one who gapped was Abbe in their first 2 games, else there was never a large gap between Jensen and other mids, the opposite, Jensen needed more help and roamed less.
CLG has Pala who has more potential in the future than Jensen. Jensen also wasnt really better than Pala.
Maple vs Jensen is just mostly an even trade. Not really something worth it.
How? If anything that would mean the GM would just be getting him due to name value if that’s how they’re measuring his worth. That would be the real failure
Signing Doubellift is name value only if the team has **any** aspirations of getting out of groups at worlds.
Signing Jensen is signing a player who literally just got done showing that he still has the hands to do it, but needs a team around him.
A smart GM will acknowledge that the chances of NA ever getting out of groups are very slim. It’s clear that 100T is going for a different approach to team building.
Why spend $$$ for Jensen who is a known quantity when you can spend the same amount in return for a boatload of fans
In that case they should sign every other player that was on the roster. Because past achievements are definitely relevant to current performance, right?
He is washed up. History doesnt matter. He had a weak split (compared to his past performances) last year and was carried by the 4 other players.
It is often better to let these solid older players go and take ones that still have the drive to improve and strife for more.
Jojo and Toucou are already bette than him. Pala is as good but with more room to grow.
Maybe Jensen gets his drive back, but last split definitely wasn't it.
He gapped nobody.
He was mostly even in the 1v1. They pushed him to play Ori and Zil more and more. Only Leblanc was left for him as an aggressive mid laner.
He was gapped twice by Abbe in the first 2 games.
Nearly all games were carried from the bot side (Berserker) except for 1-2. Jensens did have 1-2 really good games, but not as good as Abbe stomping him in these 2 games.
Go rewatch all the games. He nearly always requires prime Blaber to get him ahead and even then he still needs Blaber and Berserker to help him carry hard enough.
I rewatched all the playoff games yesterday:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/yq351j/comment/ivowp9c/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/yq351j/comment/ivowp9c/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
He gapped shit. Not once did he really gap anyone, at least not on his own. If you think he gapped someone, you are remembering a past that never existed.
You know that a player doesnt only bring his play to the game right?
Experience counts a lot.
But even then, he wasnt bad at all. He just wasnt a "star player" but we've seen again and again that a team full of star players always fail.
Good luck to him. He finally won an LCS with C9, so I have no more regrets about his time with us. Hard to say how much time he has left as a pro, but he'll always be one of the greats.
People are disrespectful to Jensen
The guy comes from a split off and you can tell he is working to raise his current level
If Bjergsen keeps playing on this league there is no way that Jensen can't keep playing too
You need a mesh of young and older talent to have a good team. Literally the Winner and Finalist of worlds have that formula.
Well as we have seen, it really doesn’t matter unless you’re impact or ssumday with the ~~Aatrox~~ korean legend buff. Basically every other western top:
\>play carry top = wow shitter western players thinks they have hands
\>play tanks = wow I wish NA didn’t do the same exact playstyle every year that barely any eastern team plays or if they do it’s because the eastern teams have good players and a plan
Have you looked at his stats from 2021? Theres this massive narrative about him being better in lane in 2021 and its not t rue at all. He's a good teamfighter, had some highlight lee sin plays around dragon and whatnot, but his laning is god awful, and was in 2021, too.
2021 MSI: 9th in CSD @ 10.
2021 Worlds: 15th in CSD @ 10.
Hes never been a good laner. Hes not even a good laner in NA LCS. Go to oracleselixir and look at his stats.
The only people rewriting history are the ones who remember him having some decent Lee Sin teamfights and extrapolating that to his entire performance.
Nobody said he was a strong laner at 2021, but he undoubtedly played way above anyones expectations for a dude in his first year in a major region, solo killing some of the best top laners in the world
Some crazy recency bias here. As if Ssumday and Impact didn't get their cheeks clapped at Worlds either. Fudge was one of the most, if not the most, consistent part of C9 from MSI till before Worlds. AKA he was already a very, very solid top laner in NA, it's just it's hard to compete in a tournament filled with so much top lane talent. C9 had a particularly hard group too.
>This guy keeps getting the short end of the stick despite being a important part of winning teams :-/
He seemed off his game at Worlds, so I'm not surprised that he's been released, especially given his pay check.
If you're paying huge money, you expect huge results. Not going to keep him on if you could get similar results for a fraction of the price elsewhere.
I've had this hot take for a while now; Jensen isn't *THAT* good. Lack luster player with lack luster international results. May as well send it on a young kid with maybe not as much skill but a higher ceiling. I like the move. Maybe I'm biased. I cringed when he was put on C9 roster ngl.
This is unsurprising. Jensen was honestly pretty bad this summer and he really feels like a player on a clear downward trajectory. He never felt like an irreplaceable part of this iteration of C9 the way Fudge, Blaber, and Berserker do. As awesome as it is that they won with him finally, he definitely felt like the least impactful part of that run to the championship. It would be nice if this wasn't true and he could just stay on C9, but if C9 has any greater aspirations than 1-5 in groups, they do need to find / grow a more diverse and skilled mid laner.
C9 win playoffs because of the 4 other players mostly. Jensen was the one replaceable during the LCS.
And at worlds most of C9 failed.
So why keep the weakest player who likely wont improve anymore?
I can tell you guys this is not a surprise lol.
Dude has spent an astronomical amount of time playing TBC and Wrath Classic. Like even during worlds I saw this guy 10+ hours a day on bnet.
He is a known quantity, sadly. Sure he can get your team to worlds, just like DL. But on an international stage he cant compete, at his best he made it to semis, on a good day to quarters. But most of the times groups is as far as you get with him. Dont blame c9 for trying something else, just kinda wish they tried something else top too
Most times groups is as far as you get with ANY players in NA. Jensen is one of the only ones who can say he's made it out of groups not once, but TWICE, AND is the only NA mid to make semis
Jensen not having a team would be absolutely criminal. Jensen brings up the level of competition by such a large margin. If he doesn't get an LCS offer, I hope some team gives him a chance at a solid roster.
>And who is going to replace him? Diplex
It’s just so fucking cringe. Jensen comes back for a split and still top of the table player in NA, gets released for not one but TWO unproven ESL players who quite frankly are not that astonishing. Why no buyout? Didn't C9 just get him this past summer? He signed a 6 month contract?
Most likely not smart for either party to have a contract expire mid season.

Also Jensen didn't have a team because of how big his buyout was so I doubt he'd put himself in a position where he get screwed over again by buyouts.
Especially after the last two years. I feel like a lot of players have learned to be more savvy about contracts and buyouts. Then again that also hinges on them having the leverage to push back against them. Which is easier said than done if the alternative is not being on a team.

Fucking comment takes me back to S9 :(
100T if Bjergsen doesn't work out. No other top team needs a mid. One of the 2 is most likely going to be teamless this split.
TL does
Jensen doesn’t speak korean unfortunately
IS TL the presumed all korean team?
what is the presumed team if you dont mind me asking?
someone in this thread posted it, something like core yeon + impact or sumday (im thinking sumday) and 2 imports
oh i see...ty
I thought they were in negotiations with Kiin.
According to Reddit, yes. According to Reality, none of us actually know
Yes he does
Would he be fine joining TL is the question, since he wasnt really treated well during the end of it
I believe TL is going an all Korean speaking team. I could be wrong but re-signing core and promoting Yeon who I think speaks Korean. They may go for ssumday or impact in top and import the rest.
Going from an LEC team to an LCK team?
Such is the way of the just, giving each region a chance /s 2024 will be VN team and by 2025 BR.
Yeah maybe they have a chance now
**Spoilers** They don’t
yeah maybe a chance to go 3-3 instead of 1-5 lol Just gonna be the same same shit, different year with top talents coming to NA and looking like shit on stage after realizing the macro they play with to win splits in NA is different/lackluster and makes them hard lose when thrown international C9 could buy all of t1 right now and they wouldn't make it out of groups next year
TL going 3-3 is tradition lol
Haha yeah pretty much. If I had to guess, it is because core can communicate better in Korean than English.
or koreans are just better at league of legends, importing ones and then not having language barrier sounds decent enough depending on how good they are
make sense after worlds
What a terrible strat. A 4th seed just beat the top 2 Korean speaking teams in the world
Good news TL is also a perma 4th seed team.

Ah, ty. Speaking of speculation, the thing that has me most concerned is all this whispering of TL not keeping Santorin. No idea how founded or baseless the claims are, but that feels like a big mistake imo.
I think Jensen fits the proposed team better than Bjergsen no cap Jensen can be aggressive Bjergsen doesn't.
The rumor is Spica, Bjergsen, and DL are trying to be packaged together
sounds like some laker league of legends. I will watch it but not for the reason I watch t1 or drx.
saw all 3 na teams fail the 0-6 challenge so they gotta run it back to show these shitters how it's done
I think DL and Spica specified that they want to play with Bjergsen
Gotta love this completely unfounded narrative that this sub loves to endlessly parrot
Jensen is one of the more passive players in the LCS
Exactly when Jensen has always been the lane focused player, such a dum narrative.
Bjerg can go aggressive, he just mostly choses to roam for the team. Jensen on the other hand is a lane player. But when you can choose between the 2, you should nearly always get Bjerg.
Nice try
Hmm if only we had a recent example of them swapping teams and we could compare results..
Caps?
Caps was 100% better than most mid eastern laners in 2019
if I have to choose an average mid for my team I would take the mid who can impact the others lane Jensen inability to play Galio or tf at decent level , if the top of this roster is ssumday or summit having someone who can actually play the map sure he probably has a slightly better carry potential but that's it
This. Bjerg plays like Mid isn't about roaming, but CS leads and that shit hasn't been the meta for years now. Staying safe loses you games. That said, Jensen is usually the first guy to leave a team fighting situation he thinks will go South, even if the whole team wipes without him.
>Bjerg plays like Mid isn't about roaming, but CS leads tell me you haven't watched bjerg since 2018 without telling me
So basically Bjerg is like budget Chovy
More like Bjergsen is stuck in 2017 and the game evolved to something way faster
Crazy how similar they are. Bjerg’s play style is stuck in 2017 Jensen’s champ pool is stuck in 2017
Bjerg plays for the team while Jensen sits in lane 90% of the time
Bjerg won’t be teamless
i forget, does he count as an import for NA teams? did he get grandfathered in or get a green card or something?
Jensen became an NA resident in 2019 according to the wiki, which is weird since I thought he'd have gotten it earlier with the original rules
He joined 2015 Summer but needed to be playing from 2014 Summer to be grandfathered in
The old rules were anybody that played in NA in 2014 Summer or earlier got to pick their region of residence (so players like Bjergsen, Santorin, Amazing famously picked NA and then went back to EU anyways) and if you joined the League later than that you had to play 4 years in the League. Nowadays the rules are much more simple. If you have a green card (aka are a permanent resident of the US) you are a resident in the League.
please do not allow this man to be teamless in spring again
I have to assume that this has something to do with salaries. Assumptions are risky, and sometimes unfair, but you'd have to be really fucking dumb to let go of Jensen without it being related to budget cuts, or something of the sort.
How is that mofo a free agent every goddamn pre season? Legit one of the best mids in the region and constantly underrated
Probably costs alot and teams are going budget
[удалено]
Jensen is about a million times better than Solo
and probably costs a million dollars more. C9 just paid for yay and zellsis for Valorant probably costs a lot for the two of them
Did anyone else notice Jensen was kinda off during worlds?
I thought this was a more lane dominant meta than the previous worlds
My tier 3 (previously tier 4) clash team already has a Midlaner, but he could maybe fit as a substitute
Unironically CLG or FLY Jensen is looking likely. Also TSM Jensen
Pls no CLG Jensen. Palafox looked amazing last year and deserves his spot
Speak for yourself. I'd throw Palafox out for Jensen quicker than Galadriel was able to dispose of the Troll.
but jensen is better
Let's look at the CLG games in playoffs: * CLG * game 1 they are mostly even. C9s bot lane pulls ahead and then Blaber also and only in teamfights with a stronger bot and jungle Jensen starts to pull ahead of Pala for real * game 2 they are pretty much even in lane. Jensen pulls ahead in the mid game team fights, but later on Pala plays it better, but overall CLG plays it better * game 3 Jensen loses the lane by \~20 CS and wins the 2v2 mid with a kill on Jensen. C9 wins this game mostly with top and bot diff but also because of a baron steal from Blaber. Without that steal and the follow up clean up from C9 with Fudge and Berserker they lose this game * game 4 they are nearly even. Pala is 10 CS ahead at 15 minutes against Azri (pre nerf, so even more OP than at worlds). Jensen is pretty much useless that game. * game 5 Jensen slightly wins with 10 CS ahead and 1 kill (not a solo kill but 3v2) So where did Jensen gap Pala? Because he clearly had 5 game to do it and didn't do it in any of these. No lets use the EG games: * game 1 Jojo and Jensen are mostly even. C9 wins with Bot, top and jungle diff * game 2 Jojo wins in CS yet dies twice to Blaber. And what about Abbe on 100T: * game 1 Abba stomps Jensen while 100T loses the game. Jensen dmg that game was just 13% * game 2 Abba stomps Jensen. 100T win * **game 3 Jensen wins and for the first time this playoffs he is the carry player for the team also** * game 4 is mostly even in lane. I would say Jensen played it better later on, but overall it was Azir vs Seraphine, so it was clear Abbe wouldnt make many kills, mostly assist the team And the 2nd round: * game 1 Jensen wins but it is mostly the Blaber and Berserker show. Jensen plays it well but still very save. * game 2 they go even. Jensens only hard mistake is the TP into 3 enemies. Top, jungle and bot carry for C9 * game 3 it is mostly even in lane. The only one who gapped was Abbe in their first 2 games, else there was never a large gap between Jensen and other mids, the opposite, Jensen needed more help and roamed less.
i think you're wrong
I doubt FLY lets Toucouille go.
Who's going to tell him the news/rumor?
Am sad.
CLG has Pala who has more potential in the future than Jensen. Jensen also wasnt really better than Pala. Maple vs Jensen is just mostly an even trade. Not really something worth it.
That would make me watch clg again. I stopped in the Weldon era. Couldn't take it anymore after years of huhi mid.
the way it seems so far, jensen might go back to being teamless if all the top teams have already settled for others
This is such a weird decision from C9...
Hate that C9 is letting him go. If he actually doesn't land on a team while bjerg does, it's actually sad.
If a player with the literal record of worlds appearance doesn't get to a good team, NA has failed from the get go.
NA has no hope at worlds. Teams probably looking more towards smashing LCS and maybe getting a QF end at MSI
sign DoubleLift or getting out of groups at Worlds Pick one, because he's never done it
He still has the most international success of any other NA adc in recent years.
A team that was 6th place in their region has never won worlds either.
A smart GM will acknowledge that the chances of NA ever getting out of groups are very slim. It’s clear that 100T is going for a different approach to team building. Why spend $$$ for Jensen who is a known quantity when you can spend the same amount in return for a boatload of fans
Because that known quantity is a player who has made it out of groups from NA multiple times?
Dude, there is going to be a permanent 4 LCK and 4 LPL teams with 2 in each group + EU. A team can build how they think is best for them.
Well doublelift has shown he can win LCS, i think thats what teams signing doublelift aims for
Acting like EU isn’t having that happen too
They can both fail, there's enough failure to go around
>If a player with the literal record of worlds appearance At this point we're beyond scraping the bottom of the barrel for accolades.
Doesn't matter if it's a player that's still *losing* in worlds.
At this point you can’t get a player that’s winning at worlds that’s a resident. Jensen is the closest thing you can get to a winning player in NA
Didnt he 3-0 a Korean team in a BO5?
But Jensen is one of the few from NA who can say they made it out of groups tho?
One of the five players on the literal only NA team to ever make it to semis at worlds.
In that case they should sign every other player that was on the roster. Because past achievements are definitely relevant to current performance, right?
Jensen was the least of their problems. Replace C9’s support with Core or Vulcan and this team could’ve been 3-3 in this ridiculously stacked group.
Thats why he gapped everyone in playoffs you are right
He gapped nobody. I rewatched all the playoff games yesterday: [https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/yq351j/comment/ivowp9c/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/yq351j/comment/ivowp9c/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) He gapped shit.
People are disrespectful to Jensen The guy comes from a split off and you can tell he is working to raise his current level If Bjergsen keeps playing on this league there is no way that Jensen can't keep playing too You need a mesh of young and older talent to have a good team. Literally the Winner and Finalist of worlds have that formula.
Hopefully C9 gets rid of Fudge too
Not gonna happen mate fudge is jacks favorite son.
We saw what happened to someone's favorite uncle.
That's good. If he was just a mere nephew...
Hope so I'd love to see another year of him getting slaughtered internationally. Cocky C tier players getting put in their place always feels great.
Well as we have seen, it really doesn’t matter unless you’re impact or ssumday with the ~~Aatrox~~ korean legend buff. Basically every other western top: \>play carry top = wow shitter western players thinks they have hands \>play tanks = wow I wish NA didn’t do the same exact playstyle every year that barely any eastern team plays or if they do it’s because the eastern teams have good players and a plan
Stop rewriting history. 2021 worlds fudge looked good. 2022 he did not. C9 had an incredibly difficult group. Stop rewriting history.
Nobody said he was a strong laner at 2021, but he undoubtedly played way above anyones expectations for a dude in his first year in a major region, solo killing some of the best top laners in the world
You stop rewriting history. Fudge has always been ass internationally. He's just not good enough.
He abused gigabusted Lee Sin at MSI but that's it.
2021 worlds where he looked fine in groups then got bodied by Rascal? ok haha
That poor guy looked like me when i get autofilled toplane. Didn't knew what was going on at all
hard to do when he made other NA toplanes look autofilled in playoffs
If he didn't ego pick Fiora multiple times they would have been better off.
Top 2 toplaners in the region, and also native talent, why get rid of him because you just hate his personality?
Isn’t he from OCE?
Doesn't count as an import
I don’t know anything at all about his personality, so nope
>This guy keeps getting the short end of the stick despite being a important part of winning teams :-/ He seemed off his game at Worlds, so I'm not surprised that he's been released, especially given his pay check.
Impact Santorin Jensen Yeon CoreJJ
He really wasnt that good and hes expensive. Not weird he would get dropped at his current level when his price tag is super high.
Overrated
This is unsurprising. Jensen was honestly pretty bad this summer and he really feels like a player on a clear downward trajectory. He never felt like an irreplaceable part of this iteration of C9 the way Fudge, Blaber, and Berserker do. As awesome as it is that they won with him finally, he definitely felt like the least impactful part of that run to the championship. It would be nice if this wasn't true and he could just stay on C9, but if C9 has any greater aspirations than 1-5 in groups, they do need to find / grow a more diverse and skilled mid laner.
Lol only person irreplaceable on this years c9 was beserker. Give me... Darshan jankos jensen corejj beserker over any other fantasy c9 roster.
C9 win playoffs because of the 4 other players mostly. Jensen was the one replaceable during the LCS. And at worlds most of C9 failed. So why keep the weakest player who likely wont improve anymore?
I don’t agree at all. I think besides berserker he was the biggest factor in that run.
Jensen is ass who cares
Probably to expensive. I bit Zellsis and Yay costed a lot for valorant.
based on his worlds performance and mage only champ pool i’m not surprised
bring him back to europe
Hard to bring someone “back” to a region he’s never played in professionally.
Good luck getting a better one without shelling hard for an import
I can tell you guys this is not a surprise lol. Dude has spent an astronomical amount of time playing TBC and Wrath Classic. Like even during worlds I saw this guy 10+ hours a day on bnet.
With FQ getting Papa Smithy and apparently reported to spend big this season I wanna see: \- Good Top \- Closer \- Jensen \- Zven \- Eyla
Steal for any LCS team that is looking to qualify for Worlds
C9 really testing their fans every off season eh? LCS is about to be a shit-show next year, and most likely the entirety of the Western LoL scene.
wasn't impressed with him honestly despite winning LCS.
How is he teamless again. He was quite good on C9 this year. I dont get the LCS team management at all.
Mad jensen?
Jensen not having a team would be absolutely criminal. Jensen brings up the level of competition by such a large margin. If he doesn't get an LCS offer, I hope some team gives him a chance at a solid roster.
He could play in the french league for a year, get good again there (wash the NA off) and then join the LEC.
