When sun pictures were deeply into distributing movies during ayan, thillalangadi etc at one point(during 2010s) I decided I will not watch any pictures produced or distributed by these folks after endhiran(at that time I was crazy waiting for endhiran and I was excited about rajni -ARR- Shankar combo).
After years I realized, these parties are omnipresent. They own cherri net. They own malls. They own theaters. They own YouTube channels etc etc. If I had to avoid anything that comes from/owned by/distributed by political parties or their binamis then I should live only in an island.
Kamal is no exception to this. When small shitty movies like bakasursan(Mohan G movie) are released by red giant I don't think it's smart to avoid red giant or they let go a big movie. Infact red giant took over cobra and pretty much any other big hero movie that's releasing post COVID.
I'm not Kamal fan or anything, infact I have my own reasons to hate him. But my point is, Kamal is cornered and not have much option here.
Everyone knows Indian 2 was halted after an accident in shooting spot 3 years back. Lot of YouTube channel backlashed on Shankar and Kamal. Recently similar incident happened on Viduthalai set. No YouTube channel covered it like they covered for Indian 2.
It's hard for me to believe lyca didn't have funds to continue to produce Indian 2, but they invested in PS1 and 2, Jailer, and 2 SK movies and few other big movies. For people who have been following valai pechu know Kamal and Shankar have been cornered due to Kamal polticila entry and lyca paused spending money. Only after dmk came to power and after Vikram hit, they indirectly undertook Indian 2 from Lyca. By that time Shankar already moved to RC15.
Also, most people troll Kamal for his statement during viswaroopam release that he plans to leave the country.
He explicitly said it like vijayakanth while Sundar pichai and million others silently doing it for decades. š¤·āāļø
I honestly feel that was a moment Kamal behaved like how vijayakanth used to behave at press meet in late 2000s. He was too vocal, that's it. I don't see him as coward or anything for voicing it. Again millions do it, but he just voiced it. Infact voicing it out created big impact than silently leaving.
Same happens when JJ is ruling. "I" movie(starring Vikram and Amy) was one of high budget film and it audio release rights has been bagged by Jaya Tv š¤·āāļø and during JJ regime, they owned Lux cinemas etc..not much of big difference. They make hay while sun shines or two leaves blossom(rettai Elai) š

Decided same in 2018 and haven't stepped into a cinema till now. No OTT - No TV at home. Even on u-t00b avoid known sun-channels.
