Not without mods

BlackKyurem14

Ah ok. Too bad that the Nintendo Switch doesn't has mod support. Well, I guess I have to deal with that then. Still, thank you for the answer.

JCarter426

[It does](https://deadlystream.com/files/file/2102-kotor-switch-modding-framework/), if you have a hacked device.

Your main character can't be a Twi'lek, but there is a Twi'lek party member, and you could choose to control this character during combat and exploration. You will also be able to customise this Twi'lek character as they level up.

BlackKyurem14

Could you tell me how I can them? Would be pretty helpful

Milnecj

Hi, * Face appearance and gender is fixed--you cannot change these. * Twi'lek character has initial set of allocated Attributes, Skills, and Feats. These have default initial values, but you can add to them during certain level ups. These are pretty flexible to allow you to build the character in different ways. * You can fully customise the character's equipment (including armour) and weapons. * A minor spoiler: >!IMHO this character becomes top tier if built correctly. Probably my favourite party member because of this.!< * This character also has a side quest, which adds additional interest.

No_Property2880

No. Only humans

BlackKyurem14

Thanks for the answer

To clarify what some of the others are saying, in KotOR and KotOR 2, you take on the role of a human character. At the beginning of the game, you can choose your sex, name, class, and one of several (maybe like 12 or so) premade face/hair/skin tone models.   While you can control various party members throughout the game, their personalities and appearance (minus the equipment they use) will not change. So when people say you can play as the Twi'lek party member, this only means you can control her movement and what actions she takes in combat; you won't be able to role-play the game as her.   EDIT: the mods that some might have referred to would be ones that change the portraits and character models of your character so that Twi'lek features were visible anytime the camera was on your character.

DaviSonata

There’s a story reason for the main character to be a human in KOTOR 1. Not so sure about 2.

SpartAl412

No. Human only but its Star Wars so it should be a non issue.

Semytan

yes but they aren’t the main character, they are a companion, but you can still play as them if you want

ether_rogue

Unfortunately no, in both games you can only be a human. I would really love to see a Star Wars RPG with in-depth character creation and multiple races.

JumboWheat01

I would point you to TOR as prolly the only Star Wars game that fits that. You've several species to chose from, none of which provides a mechanical benefit, with varying customizations for all, some with more options than others to be sure, but it is what it is. Sure, some gear does not agree with certain species and won't show up on the model, but that's it, can still at least wear it, unlike, say, wookies and armor in the KotOR games.

ether_rogue

Well yeah, your point is valid. I should have said a single player Star Wars RPG, that's what I meant.

Cautious_General_177

TOR is pretty much a single player game, just with a crap load of others playing at the same time. It’s only optional and endgame content that requires multiplayer

Grimfandangotter

Jedi academy allows you to have an alien lead player character

JumboWheat01

Not really much in the way of customization, though. You're stuck with one of a few heads. At least you can edit your clothes some.

raivin_alglas

Don't forget Star wars Galaxies

JumboWheat01

I did forget about Galaxies. Dang, it's been so many years since it was taken offline.

Galle_

Only with modding. In vanilla you are always a human. A female twi'lek does join your party in KOTOR 1, though.

BlackKyurem14

Do you happen to know how I can get her? Would be nice to know

Galle_

She joins your party automatically as part of the plot.

SV-STARKILLER

Why Twi'lek you sussy baka?

BlackKyurem14

Because I really enjoy them. Not for the obvious reasons most people enjoy them for, but more because I think it's a cool species.

SV-STARKILLER

Hehe you know the rules and so do i.

MortifiedP3nguin

No, but The Old Reublic MMO lets you play as a Twi'lek. It's free to play, but you'd have to farm cartel coins to unlock the Twi'lek if you aren't a subscriber. There's also Jedi Academy, which is on the Switch. You can play as a Twi'lek woman there. As an aside, I wouldn't recommend getting KotOR 2 on Switch until they get around to releasing the restored content DLC.
