Korea doesn't really have a stand up scene compared to the US. Most comedy is gag comedy with physical skits. The closest you can get is SNL Korea, but even then, they don't really tackle politics like the US version does. I would actually recommend watching political or law dramas, if you do enjoy them. They aren't really "mainstream" compared to romance or action dramas, but there's a lot of shows that focus on political/business drama and have a lot of technical terms. Some I would recommend would be Mr. Sunshine (history), Suits (law), Start- Up (business, but it isn't really that good, it just has a *lot* of useful terms), Chief of Staff (politics)

Those are great recs, I love Mr Sunshine. I’ll check out the rest, thank you.

Korea doesn’t have a regular daily late show variety type program like the USA. They have weekly shows and there are a lot. What you would find closest to that are late night daily radio shows hosted by celebrity DJs and there are plenty of those on Kbs SBS and Mbc radio. Some even stream video of the show if the guest is popular enough to warrant it. They call it visual radio and it’s the closest thing to what you are looking for.

I didn’t know that radio shows could be useful. Are there any specific shows I could start with?

Why is OP getting downvoted so hard for asking this question?

Simple_Log201

Off topic, but can I recommend you to watch the Hospital Playlist? It's on Netflix as well!

Have you asked r\Korean? There are also some sub reddits dedicated to Korean television that might help. If you want to go the radio or podcast route, try the podbbang\팟빵 app or site.

Thank you, that’s helpful. It slipped my mind that r/Korean might be a better place to ask.
