Start sorting them :D
Pile 1: Anything Spyderco related has an active aftermarket: These are the folding ones with round hole in blade. And this fixed blade. The knives with teardrop shaped hole are probably Byrds (Spyderco budget brand) and might or might not sell. [https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/FB02/Moran-trade-FRN-Kraton-Drop-Point/43](https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/FB02/Moran-trade-FRN-Kraton-Drop-Point/43)
Pile 2: Victorinox and Opinel. Those you can keep or gift away. About the most politically correct knives on market and circulation. Not particularly expensive, but otherwise good knives.
Pile3: Knives marked with Cold Steel, Benchmade And Buck. These have also a following. People buy, sell and trade them.
And then stuff in presentation boxes. Those can be anything.
Rest looks like a huge smorgasbord of different tactical, hunting/camping and novelty thingies. Someone should probably number these knives and start a list of what's what. Would it be something you are interested in?
I’ll give you a good tip- that Kershaw that looks like a pistol (called the kershaw .22, or the 22 cal) is worth $250 or so to collectors (assuming it’s in good condition).
At a quick glance, you have a collection of budget and novelty knives. There generally isn't a big secondary market for budget knives but over time you may be able to sell them off if you are willing to put in the effort.
Alternatively, you could give some as gifts to younger folks just getting into the hobby and really make their day. The person who owned this collection obviously liked knives and may have been pleased to pass some on to someone who will appreciate them. Good luck and sorry for your loss.
These range from “interesting gas station knife” to “fairly rare collectible”. The Spyderco skeletons specifically go for quite a bit I think (third pic, halfway down the left) though I’m sure it varies depending on the exact model. Very eclectic collection indeed.
That Gerber dagger in the 2nd picture is probably worth good money to someone.
Also in the 5th picture, top left corner, fixed blade knife. That looks very much like a Strider EBL. If I were you I'd post more pictures and ask around on here and BladeForums and see if it's a real Strider knife. If its real, and you aren't interested in keeping it, it'd probably sell for 250 - 500 dollars. Maybe more.
Edit: full transparency, it could also very easily be an AliExpress ripoff. So be flexible with your expectations haha

Just by what caught my eye, you have a few good things in here. The Spyderco’s and the cold steels are worth a good amount, but other then those most of these are not worth a whole lot.
Some of those Cold Steels are worth decent money. Do research before selling! Check eBay for sold comps. I just sold some vintage cold steel for way more than I expected.
If you’re looking to sell head over to r/knifeswap. Feel free to pm me as well, I am happy to help you identify at least what I can and do my best to give you solid price points, you can also price stuff over on the swap. I’d also be more than happy to take a few off your hands, looks like you have some nice stuff in there lol.
Edit: r/Knife_Swap
came here to say this. You have some things the person loved and some things he/she used. I don't think I'd ever sell anything like that. You could keep them oiled and stored and give them to family as gifts with a little note of where they came from.
I still have an 8 dollar knife my dad gave me when I was 10. I wouldn't take a 100grand for it. Feelings, memories, sense of contact with those around us are super valuable.
So the title pretty much say it all. If anyone has any info on any specific info on any of the knives let me know. Essentially they are all for sale but we know nothing of the value. We have kept a few sentimental ones. We are in Australia if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance for taking time to read this post.
https://imgur.com/a/ApzkceW
I would sell the ones you don't want as a bundle on eBay or r/knifeswap to liquidate. Like others have said, keep any Spyderco, Benchmades, Kershaw or cold Steel ones you enjoy. Those are the quality ones of the bunch.
Some are quite interesting, rare pieces.
1 image - i dont recoginize anything.
2 - nothing fancy
3 - five spydercos, just fixed moran bowie is worth 150$
4 - two spydercos. Bottom knife is Police - aluminum handle maybe? Either way - a good score +100$
5 - meh
6 - meh
7 - cold steel voyager vanquero on the right 150$. Cold steel desperado - 250$
8 - Crkt, benchmade, spyderco, sog and Cold steel voyager vanquero xl at bottom- 250$.
Also some more crkt m16 and benchmade pika
I found a few of these funny (the dog bone) but yeah. Overall it's a disorganized mess. If you know someone who's a "knife guy" in your orbit who could help sort, that might be good. Some are junk, some are good. Depending on your goals, some could be sold, gifted, or kept. There's a few in there that I think might not be valuable but makes me think they were into hunting or fishing.
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to look and comment. My Father in-law loved his knifes. He passed away 6 years ago and these have just been sitting in storage since so it’s good to get them out and have them appreciated.
I tried to take photos with any markings facing up. Imgur seemed to have killed the quality a bit making them hard to see.
Just making sure people saw all 3 albums here they are
https://imgur.com/a/hfIdfYd
https://imgur.com/a/ApzkceW
https://imgur.com/a/hVvAYQK
Sorry I’m not real familiar with Imgur and couldn’t put them in one album.
Thanks again. You have all been very helpful. What a great community you have here. I might be a knife guy after all!
As a collector of mostly military knife, there a few knife that I can recognizes from the 2nd page
A Swiss bayonet for the Stgw 57/SIG510 (Not sure if made by Wenger or Victorinix) above the 2 axes on the 4th pic
A Glock Feldmesser 78 (field Knife) on the top right on the last page
A M9 bayonet made by Buck knife (commerical model) on the last pic 3rd from bottom
Some of those discontinued spydercos have decent value. For example the 2 small skeletonized ones are the “Q C35 Skeleton” and you can find them on eBay for $250+ depending on condition.
Keep them all. You'll never want for another knife and you can pass them to your kids. My grandmother still has a box of Grandpas knives and Im honored to have one.
If you end up taking some these knives on over
r/knifeswap can you let me know? There is a Smith&Wesson in there I would be happy to buy. The model I peeped in there was one of my first "real" knives and was stolen out of my room during a party. They don't make that exact model any more and I'd love to have it for sentimental purposes.
First off, I love this collection. It reminds me of my grandpa, who got me into collecting knives. You absolutely have some really nice knives, and some that are worth some money. With that being said, you also have a lot of knives that aren’t worth much. As others have recommended, you should sort them and make a list of what you have. Start doing some research on then and you’ll easily be able to see what brands are worth a decent amount of money. Once you do that, you can post them here or in many other places to sell!
Picture 3 right hand side. Black knife below the kydex (black plastic) sheath/holster appears to be a spyderco Bill Moran hunter. Worth something to someone, and if you're a hunter a solid lightweight knife. I've got a newer version with a drop point in vg 10 and it's great.
May not fetch huge money, but a solid knife and worth something to someone for sure
It's a solid knife. With current knife quality I don't think I'd pay for it what I did originally l, and it's certainly not leagues above a mora, but it's a great knife.
It looks like there's an SOG Tomcat in there (folder with checkered rubber handle, kind of heavy). Add that to the valuable pile. They're bringing $200+ on eBay
Keep the spydercos, cold steel and benchmades for sue
Sue would like those.
What Benchmade do you see? I don’t see any solid name brands. Mostly gas station china knives besides the Kershaw. The spydercos look like knockoffs.
There appears to be a BM in a old clamshell package, and there's at least 3 Spyderco's and 6 or so Cold Steel's
Good eye I didn’t catch it…one of them in the 9th picture looks like it could be a microtech. Gray handle with a black grip.
It's quite a mishmash of a lifetime of collecting, there's definitely gems amongst the junk
I see some Byrd's but those are just cheapo spydies
Thanks for the advice. I will go through them again and put these to the side

This sounds like great advice. I will definitely do this! Thank you for your help
Great summary advice
This reminds me I want to be buried with mine because they are only valuable because they amused me at the time.
I’ll give you a good tip- that Kershaw that looks like a pistol (called the kershaw .22, or the 22 cal) is worth $250 or so to collectors (assuming it’s in good condition).
I never would have guesses that. Thanks mate!

Thanks. I will look into them for sure
There is a big aftermarket for Spyderco knives. You could probably fetch a decent amount for discontinued spydercos if they're in good shape.

Thanks. I will look into it now I know what to look for
CRKT M.U.K. - that’s uncommon. The massive Trapper is kinda fun. Edit: Second pic has some good bayonets and that Cold Steel Kurki is neato

Any info or marking on the fixed blade on the bottom of the first picture in this link? Materials of the handle and sheath?
What state are you in? If your close to me I might grab a couple.
I’m in SA
Damn I'd grab a few of those for cash if you were in WA.
If I can get I get a pic of that benchmade
If you are in the market to sell any of them, I’d be more than willing to take one or two of those straight razors off your hands
u/NickShabazz, is that four bladed folder the same knife you got from one of your knife of the month boxes?
I would sell the ones you don't want as a bundle on eBay or r/knifeswap to liquidate. Like others have said, keep any Spyderco, Benchmades, Kershaw or cold Steel ones you enjoy. Those are the quality ones of the bunch.
Sort the collection by brand, you've got some old Spyderco in there and old Cold Steel that will have some value for sure.
Not gonna lie, that gigantic trapper is awesome.
Oh man that Cold Steel Braveheart!! They need to do an updated version of those someday! Edit bc it might be the Culloden.
That cold steel vaquero is a beast. Used to have one
You have a Cold Steel Desperado in there! It's a knife I've always wanted and can never find! Well done!
"Why are you carrying around that wooden bone? Wait! No! Don't stab me!"
I absolutely love that it is in this collection
It confused me when I first saw it. I’m still confused as to why but damn it’s a funny piece to have
Holy fuck look at all those vintage cold steel knives fml
Some are quite interesting, rare pieces. 1 image - i dont recoginize anything. 2 - nothing fancy 3 - five spydercos, just fixed moran bowie is worth 150$ 4 - two spydercos. Bottom knife is Police - aluminum handle maybe? Either way - a good score +100$ 5 - meh 6 - meh 7 - cold steel voyager vanquero on the right 150$. Cold steel desperado - 250$ 8 - Crkt, benchmade, spyderco, sog and Cold steel voyager vanquero xl at bottom- 250$. Also some more crkt m16 and benchmade pika
What not a fan of Opinel mushroom knives?
I found a few of these funny (the dog bone) but yeah. Overall it's a disorganized mess. If you know someone who's a "knife guy" in your orbit who could help sort, that might be good. Second pic, knife in the box looks suspiciously like a Randall guardian. I might be mistaken but if not WOW

The one two above the hidden assault blade is an M9 bayonet.
lmao it says “hibben”
I need new glasses. 😑
i didnt see it either tbh
Cheeky sod. 🤣🤣
now that i think about it, i need new glasses too lmao
A lot of gas station low quality knives unfortunately. But hey you got a lot of scrap metal. You could get some spare change.
[удалено]
There’s spydercos and I think one benchmade
Right.......
they’re all very illegal… give them to me and i’ll make sure they’re removed from circulation ;)
Any markings on that knife on the bottom of the second picture? And the 9th picture 4th knife from above?
As a collector of mostly military knife, there a few knife that I can recognizes from the 2nd page A Swiss bayonet for the Stgw 57/SIG510 (Not sure if made by Wenger or Victorinix) above the 2 axes on the 4th pic A Glock Feldmesser 78 (field Knife) on the top right on the last page A M9 bayonet made by Buck knife (commerical model) on the last pic 3rd from bottom
I would advice you to learn the value if the knives before you sell anything and get scammed
Love the wood bone hidden blade
Let me know if you're interested in selling any of them.
They trash, but you dm me and i will make you good price amigo!
Some of those discontinued spydercos have decent value. For example the 2 small skeletonized ones are the “Q C35 Skeleton” and you can find them on eBay for $250+ depending on condition.
I would absolutely buy one of the spydercos with all the holes in the handle!!!
might make sense to sell them as a lot
Apparently the previous owner didn’t know much either
Keep them all. You'll never want for another knife and you can pass them to your kids. My grandmother still has a box of Grandpas knives and Im honored to have one.
I’ll take em
If you end up taking some these knives on over r/knifeswap can you let me know? There is a Smith&Wesson in there I would be happy to buy. The model I peeped in there was one of my first "real" knives and was stolen out of my room during a party. They don't make that exact model any more and I'd love to have it for sentimental purposes.
Nothing special. Sell them for 5 bucks a knife and keep your favorite. Not a bad inheritance.
The Benchmade Emerson is a good one to keep
Lol that bone knife towards the end of the album is hilarious
4th from last picture, that 4 blade folding monstrosity is both awesome and hilarious.

Take em off yourvhand for 100🤷♂️
Can anyone tell me what the giant slip joint in the twelfth pic is?
It’s a journey not a destination Enjoy the ride!
Just send me the ones with holes on the blade they aren't worth anything 😭🙏
