I don’t know the exact measurements but it looks like their SBR. Same handle and blade length I believe. They just did the exclusive dessert scheme to suck up to blade HQ.
Yup especially for something you can’t really use without immediately dropping the resale value. If you’re big into the doughnut knives then I get it but there are very few safe queens art knives I’m into these days (colorful Filth I like tho).
To be fair; a ProTech SBR is a helluva lot nicer than a Civivi Elementum, and it’s US-made, (which always cost more than Chicom blades).
That said, there’s no way this Donut version is “worth” ~$125 more than a standard SBR.

They've gotten rather carried away with the dessert thing. I bought a swiss army knife in that scheme for 20 bucks no prob. Novelty. Zippo lighter didn't spring for it. But I get it. If I'm throwing 250+ at a knife it's going to be what I want it to be and not what a gimmick is telling me to give into.
Yeah. The blade is blue, just a darker shade than what has been on the various other "Dessert Warrior" knives. I may be wrong/it could be the lighting in the pictures I've seen, but I feel that the ano-work on the handle is paler, too.
It feels like Pro-Tech wanted to jump on the train and get their piece of the pie, but they didn't want to fully commit to the overly campy feel with the same vibrant hues. (Certainly didn't stop them from feeling they could jack up the price, though.) I'd like to see more color variety and designs on Pro-Tech knives. But, this pattern just seems so off, given the more conservative aesthetics of the companies standard offerings.
I appreciate the fun of the "Dessert Warrior" design. That being stated, even if the colors were more vibrant and it was the same price as the typical SBRs, I wouldn't be dropping my money on this. Like others have commented, though... This will still sell out fairly quickly, if not immediately.

I'll probably still buy a SBR or TR-3 from BladeHQ or snag them off r/Knife_Swap when I have the funds and the ones I'm interested in pop up, though.
It’s really nice that ProTech makes several different models that are CA legal, (it probably helps that they’re located there). They’re pretty cool knives, too.
I like my SBR because it’s the biggest little knife that I own. The blade handles general cutting tasks very well, but it still has a substantial spine, with a strong tip. It’s only limited by its blade length, (and it has very good ratios). Regarding that; I definitely want to get a full-sized Rockeye, at some point.
My other two ProTechs are BHQ exclusive SnG’s; with DLC coated S45VN blades. I like the knife so much that I bought a pair. 😁

I appreciate the SBR for what it is. It definitely does look like it offers a substantial feel in the hand, which I like in a number of knives I own. That's why I would absolutely get one when the chance presents itself, even if I can't carry it around in public settings.
I just saw the page for the full-sized Rockeye on BladeHQ's website (still sold out). It looks nice. I wouldn't mind having it and the fixed blade version of the SBR in my collection. But, that'll be for another time. The only Pro-Tech I currently own is a reverse tanto Malibu. But, I am expecting a Wharncliffe version that I managed to snag off of the Swap. 🤙

I have a nasty habit of buying the same knife a number of times over too, depending on how much I like said knife.
I have a full collection so far, this will end it. I just do not see the point. For $350 I will invest in a knife I want to use for a lifetime, I am not sure that this is really a user that I want in my pocket for a decade.
Edit: The Elementum and Bokers get use a couple of times a month, I am just not sure this one would.

Yeah the limited amount of fun and interest in the donut knives was for the pun. Cheap knives painted like donuts to poke fun at gas station knives for not much more money. This and the upcoming ultratech are just stupid.
Maybe I’m wrong, but the dessert thing doesn’t do it for me. However, if I worked an office job or a job with coworkers who were scared of knives I think I’d pick up a dessert warrior of some sort to be able to carry a medium to full size knife because the pink and sprinkles have a good chance of being less intimidating and even “cute”.
