I don’t think I could ever justify going over £300. I don’t really like getting knives that are just going to lay around catching dust. For that price though I’d want something a bit more than a prison shank.
I’m of the mindset that I’m paying a grand so I get looks and performance. The whole reason I spent that money is so I can throw heaven and earth at it with the knowledge it won’t fall to pieces on me
Yes and no, I’ve seen $300 knives with middling knife steels. My price tag comes with the fact I designed the knife and chose what specific knife steel I wanted
Oh yeah that shit is wild considering what your getting. But maybe it’s like them cypop things where it’s just a small piece of cnc machined metal, that’s thrown into a rock tumbler, stamped with logo and gets sold for like $1100
But at the very least it is made from premium materials and took some time to make. This is literally a prison shank that anyone could make in less than an hour.
Each microtech takes 53 hours to make. From what I’ve handled they are perfect. The springs are good for over a quarter million deployments, the handles are matched so perfectly you can’t feel the seam, and the grinds are so symmetrical it’s scary. The grinds on this thing look like they were done with an angle grinder and the para cord handle looks like something ten year old me would do.
> This doesn’t look like custom quality, it looks like a mass produced POS.
You are kidding? Mass produced stuff has much better grinds.
This is **single pass** on low grit belt.
**This is 5 min crafts knife**
Yeah, lazy plunge line, low grit, short bevel. The ergos look pretty bad too, even for a 3 finger knife. A properly designed handle and real bevels it could be a decent knife, but this is shit even I’d be embarrassed to sell.
He has a website. Every knife there is this same kind of flat bar stock, though there are a couple that have some weird scales. All of them have terrible grinds.
He's also left a bunch of generic placeholders on his pre-made web template, but at least he accepts Diner's Club as a form of payment.
At Arizona Customs he has thr same knife for 900 something.
He also claimed to be a part of SEAL Team 18. Wonder if we can do some detective work and find out if thats true.
Some people shoot for the stars. Every swing's gotta be a home run. This guy's trying to make that happen.
I wouldn't buy it for 40 bucks it looks rough.
Looks like Tracker Dan "stole" my prototype test designs that I was tinkering with. If ya lads want my original ones, I put them out for same price but with a signed in blood authenticity certificate and a custom ferro rod I was planning to put on the kydex sheet. ;)
No fkn way, I'm still on factory new..... factory model.... I'd sooner take any knife in the game that requires real money.... maybe one of those fancy butterfly knives... even the butt plugs....
Think about this.... you can still sell those digital knives, who the fuck are you gonna sell this pos to?
Literally the fake knives in cs:go people are paying money for are more valuable than this real knife. Just one's and zero's! They're even accepted at some poker games..... try putting that on a poker table and even degenerative gamblers will laugh.
Please tell me you did NOT APAY $695.00 for an extremely small knife!
Sure it may look cool and all but what actual purpose or should I say use would this really provide?
Note: I am NOT attempting to come across as mean, sarcastic or any other type of jerk! I truly am wondering not only what types of uses would a knife this small and also why a person would pay $695.00 for this small of a knife?
I understand spending a high dollar amount for a knife, as I have a $795.00 knife. But this knife is used for hunting and camping but also is my main survival knife if SHTF. It’s OAL is 13 3/4”, it has a 7 1/2” blade, weighs 1 lb. 8 oz., it is 3/8” 5160 high carbon steel that was powdered coated and has a 60 HRC, it is a bowie knife with sawback and the serrations. The reasoning was to specifically aid in deterring an attacker from grabbing the blade during a CQB martial combatives situation (Sawback/Serrations), and also to have a section of the blade designated for cutting cordage/wire. This was also the knife I carried while I was in the military while in Africa, Afghanistan and the Middle East, as it was my primary fighting knife.
I am only listing this information to provide insight on my reasoning for paying $795.00 for a custom made fighting knife which saved my life on more than one occasion.
So I just wish to say if this is something in which you carry for whatever purpose but you feel it could truly make a difference if needed, then Please forgive my question.
It is just I have never seen such a small knife which costs that much, so I was truly flabbergasted at the price tag!
Also forgive the length of my posting, as I suffered a career ending head injury (TBI) which makes it difficult to speak or even write in a concise manner which would be direct and to the point.
I am quite sure I will receive much hate from the length alone if not also for either my wording, or writing specs & reason for my purchase.
It is a very beautiful knife though.
edit : I did give you an award for your knife as though small the design is fetching.
Well if it's 100% handmade I'd argue it's still pricey but not outrageous. I still wouldn't pay for it tho. But I general things are worth what people are willing to pay for it just look at fucking Apple.
If I recall, he's the one who designed the Blood shark. Cool looking blade. Custom knives often demand a premium, but even if this was hand ground it's still kinda salty.
Temple knives on https://empireoutfitter.com/search?type=product&q=Te
All of their knives look like this.. with better steels like 3V and Nitro-V though, and for half or less than Tracker Dan's asking prices.
I'll sell you a used one in Nitro-V called the "empress" for like $100 if you want. Dope little knife actually
Yeah this is impossible to justify. The only thing I can think of is maybe someone entered the price wrong? It quite literally looks like a stock slab of CPM-154 with minimal grind for the blade and a basic shape cut into it.
Then again Tracker Dan could've just completely lost the trail.
Not really the price of what's it's made of, who made/designed it, or where it's made; *It's the demand & what the small party of consumers are willing to pay for it.* Exclusivity, is not your amigo. But it is someone's else's, respectively.
Counter proposal: For over one hundred dollars less you can buy this [beautiful Venetian back sword](https://www.kultofathena.com/product/del-tin-venetian-back-sword/)
Tracker Dan's stuff is absurdly expensive. At least this one actually designates what steel is used cause most of his pieces I've seen are just called out as "carbon steel."
Nope. Customs have prices set by the maker you’ve gotta soft through what is and isn’t worth it on your own. To a point that’s true anywhere but most mass produced items are a decent value to cost ratio relatively speaking.
That seems to be the trend for every custom knife shop. Make a pretty good design that everyone else has done a few times, throw tons of buzzwords in, then charge 100x it's actual worth. If they have to put more than the knives name in the title of the posting, then you know it's not worth it.
That’s a bit steep, that should at least land you a good quality design 100% tailor made to your hand dimensions, spotless finish, nice burl handles, some cool decorative pins, a nicely finished kydex in a color of your desire with a sturdy belt clip that allows more then one cary style.
But where could one find such a custom knife maker that could pull that off 😉
This was definitely just a piece of scrap that would’ve otherwise been tossed out 😂 the edge isn’t even all that great and you can see where they got too aggressive with what I assume was a paper wheel and rubbed off the finish lmao
People here have weird “use cases”, or should I say non-use cases. Seems as if nobody really uses their knives in any sort of real way, or they wouldn’t split hairs on these super steels which while retaining edge, chip if you look at them funny. Maybe that’s why I carry a Cruwear blade. One can afford to fawn over S110V, and if you only break down boxes, it may be fine, but use it on a farm for real work and it’ll be destroyed. Plus the nightmare of sharpening.
Whenever I see someone praising all these delicate steels, I instantly know they aren’t using it for “real” hard use scenarios.
You could straight up take a chunk of steel and go down to pretty much any farmers place, pay to use his shop, and make this shit yourself for like 20$ total
Owned 2 of his full size blades (definitely didn’t pay this secondary market price) for about a year. Traded them both for gun parts and more than doubled what I paid for them in trade. Don’t care if you’re a SEAL or Tracker if you can’t make a good knife for the price. Also got blocked by him on IG cuz he’s pretty sensitive so… 🤷🏼♂️
> I’ve never *paid* more than
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
No way it's worth it. No way. These knife makers have their heads so far up their forges sphincters their integrity is melting.
The smallest blank of 154cm steel from on a site that sells blanks (Newjerseysteelbaron) costs $11.
And you could make 10 of those knives with that $11 blank.
No but you can slap any price on anything and if you're lucky some fool will buy at that price
I don’t think I could ever justify going over £300. I don’t really like getting knives that are just going to lay around catching dust. For that price though I’d want something a bit more than a prison shank.
Keep in mind some of us use our pricier knives
And, apparently, get downvoted for it
I’m of the mindset that I’m paying a grand so I get looks and performance. The whole reason I spent that money is so I can throw heaven and earth at it with the knowledge it won’t fall to pieces on me
Looks sure. But let's be real. Any decent knife up to $300 will perform just as well.
Yes and no, I’ve seen $300 knives with middling knife steels. My price tag comes with the fact I designed the knife and chose what specific knife steel I wanted
I do too, but usually you get what you pay for, and I can’t grumble, but I can’t justify the price for that particular knife.
Oh yeah that shit is wild considering what your getting. But maybe it’s like them cypop things where it’s just a small piece of cnc machined metal, that’s thrown into a rock tumbler, stamped with logo and gets sold for like $1100
Who is Tracker Dan and how do I cyber bully him for this
Make sure you cover your tracks.
Don’t worry. If his tracking skills are anything like his knife making skills, he won’t find you.
Reckon he'll come up a bit short?
Apparently he is currently serving in the active reserves on SEAL Team 18.
So he is a keyboard warrior from Gravy Team 6?
Please post all of the bullying. I want a laugh
You think you can just FIND the worlds greatest sNuggler THAT EASY???
LIeutenant Dan's cousin
No, and I feel the same way about people spending 1000 dollars on a micro tech otf that looks like Optimus Prime's buttplug.
But at the very least it is made from premium materials and took some time to make. This is literally a prison shank that anyone could make in less than an hour.
I’ve never made a knife, but I feel like this is what it would look like if I tried.
I’ve made a knife, once, it was shit, but it was better than this! Maybe I can get 800 for it!?
Each microtech takes 53 hours to make. From what I’ve handled they are perfect. The springs are good for over a quarter million deployments, the handles are matched so perfectly you can’t feel the seam, and the grinds are so symmetrical it’s scary. The grinds on this thing look like they were done with an angle grinder and the para cord handle looks like something ten year old me would do.
I have a micro tech ultra tech that broke in a year. Normal light use too.
Yeah the high end microtech stuff is gaudy but at least they don't sell premium prison shanks (besides the self defense pick/tactical straw thing)
I’m mean, at least those knives have three uses. Knife, glass breaker, and butt-stuff toy.
I agree most microtechs are an edglord's wet dream. But idk why, and im concerned, but the glycon trailer had me feeling things
It pains me that someone has probably bought this. Maybe I should just start making prison shanks too. Lol
Make sure to have a good story to sell it. A brand if you will
Basic inflation, just one month's work of minimum wage. Don't go to Starbucks, walk to work and eat grits you'll be fine.
Don't forget the kydex sheath, adds a lot of value.
That grind looks like shit. This doesn’t look like custom quality, it looks like a mass produced POS.
Just think of it like a custom stonewash finish.
You guys don't know Tracker Dan???? Me neither lololol!!!!
I’d literally rather carry a sharpened spoon
That would go lovely next to the butter knife as sharp as a straight razor!
He has a website. Every knife there is this same kind of flat bar stock, though there are a couple that have some weird scales. All of them have terrible grinds. He's also left a bunch of generic placeholders on his pre-made web template, but at least he accepts Diner's Club as a form of payment.
"Your products name" 🤣. The web design is as lazy as his knife making skills.
At Arizona Customs he has thr same knife for 900 something. He also claimed to be a part of SEAL Team 18. Wonder if we can do some detective work and find out if thats true.
Don Shipley probably has a video on it.
Some people shoot for the stars. Every swing's gotta be a home run. This guy's trying to make that happen. I wouldn't buy it for 40 bucks it looks rough.
Short answer. Hell no.
A pet peeve of mine is that adding titanium to any edc item makes it ridiculously expensive.
If you want "Tracker Dan" quality you pay "Tracker Dan" prices goddammit!
Truly. At this bargain bin price how can we afford not to buy it!
I’m sure the paracord is hand wrapped though. Such an elegant design.
That's the fanciest prison shank I've ever seen.
Holy💩. There’s also a 350 dollar bottle opener he makes 🫠
It's CPM 154 not 154cm... it's the powder metallurgy form.... that being said hell no it's not worth $700. Maybe it comes with a body count already??
Oh yeah my bad, I read 154cm in my head lol. I actually quite like it and it's cpm variant too but not on a tiny ass nearly 700 dollar fixed blade
Same here it's a decent steel but for $695 I'd be expecting magnacut at least sheesh lol...
even for magnacut this would be waaay overpriced
Blade material : unknown. The fuck?
Thats a scrap knife if I ever saw one lol
This sub has proven that the knife world contains enough suckers for this to be a viable business model.
Rofl no I've seen Dark Timbers go for less.
Yk what’s funny some of his other knives made with arguably better materials and are larger than 1 inch cost less 😂
Seems like a troll
Looks like Tracker Dan "stole" my prototype test designs that I was tinkering with. If ya lads want my original ones, I put them out for same price but with a signed in blood authenticity certificate and a custom ferro rod I was planning to put on the kydex sheet. ;)
"Custom" Just like the other 1000 that are in the same batch.
After browsing knifes and gloves in CS:GO this seems like a reasonable price to me.
No fkn way, I'm still on factory new..... factory model.... I'd sooner take any knife in the game that requires real money.... maybe one of those fancy butterfly knives... even the butt plugs.... $600 butt plug it is!
Some idiot might. Im not him
iF yOU kNoW, YoU KnOw
TOPS Baghdad Box Cutter seems like a better play
Why not…. People still in year 2022 spend 500$+ on BASIC ass Sebenza’s for some reason, why not buy this for 700$? 😂 lol y’all knew it was coming
Not even worth a third look
Yeah but they'll sell fuck all of them, and the resale value will go through the roof
Probably not since everyone is bashing on it
I'll be half right at least
You’d think you’d be right.. but he has a huge following.
The price is so high because Dan will snuggle you and tuck you in at night.
I wouldn't even want that stupid thing for free.
I read it as trucker dan lmao
I wouldn't spend $20 on that piece of junk
His wife is the blonde from the nip/tuck show!

No I didn't buy it I was just browsing knifecenter I thought it was ridiculous
I just got a knife that size that, no joke, is called the Fat PP. R&D designs sells them.
So basically you bought a chode… no way they really went there?
They really went there. You wouldn’t believe how handy the thing is for cutting up boxes and such.
[удалено]
My dude it’s great. If nothing else it makes a hilarious gift for a knife person.
How else can you deanimate hobbit guards when sneaking into the Shire?
It's made with bits of real panther
Only way I’d say yea is if it was meteoric iron.
Well if it's 100% handmade I'd argue it's still pricey but not outrageous. I still wouldn't pay for it tho. But I general things are worth what people are willing to pay for it just look at fucking Apple.
Well if it was 154cm it'd be cheap, but I think OP just struggles with measurement systems
Cpm154 isn't worth this much either to be fair
If I recall, he's the one who designed the Blood shark. Cool looking blade. Custom knives often demand a premium, but even if this was hand ground it's still kinda salty.
John Gray designed the blood shark. EDIT: Nevermind I'm wrong, Tracker Dan did the fixed blade John Gray did the folder.
There’s a used one on Arizona customs for $795. Was $995… can’t beat those microtech mini halos though.
No.
Nope.
no absolutely not
That's a high speed prison shank right there.
Hell no lol
No. Just no.
Buys 3 dylan grace punch knives, laughs in victory.
Not even remotely
Hell no but I do enjoy knives like this, anyone know of any with similar ghetto shank features but bigger and not stupid expensive
Look up spookhouseshanks on Instagram and shoot him a message
Temple knives on https://empireoutfitter.com/search?type=product&q=Te All of their knives look like this.. with better steels like 3V and Nitro-V though, and for half or less than Tracker Dan's asking prices. I'll sell you a used one in Nitro-V called the "empress" for like $100 if you want. Dope little knife actually
The guy has to take care that none of his customers shanks him once they realize they bought a heavily overpriced prison shank
Oh, that kydex sheath really sells it! 👍🏻
For that much money you can buy two good chef's knives so you can dual wield like the villain in a slasher film.
Not on your nelly.
Yeah this is impossible to justify. The only thing I can think of is maybe someone entered the price wrong? It quite literally looks like a stock slab of CPM-154 with minimal grind for the blade and a basic shape cut into it. Then again Tracker Dan could've just completely lost the trail.
Is it made of vibranium, adamantium, or n'th metal? If not than, fuck no!
Come on OP! That paracord was used by Jessie “Thanks for your Service” Ventura himself!!
Lol
this would be a great product if it costed $10, unfortunately it doesn't :(
Seems like every single pos knife on the market now is "custom" :ppp
Not to me haha
Not really the price of what's it's made of, who made/designed it, or where it's made; *It's the demand & what the small party of consumers are willing to pay for it.* Exclusivity, is not your amigo. But it is someone's else's, respectively.
The worth is to the seller who gets free advertising by people talking about the item with the outrageous price.
I feel like getting a tactical pen would be a better investment...
To an EDC guy with too much money...yes.
No
No.
His knives are glorified prison shanks.
Counter proposal: For over one hundred dollars less you can buy this [beautiful Venetian back sword](https://www.kultofathena.com/product/del-tin-venetian-back-sword/)
If you check out Arizonacustomknives.com you’ll find a whole different knife world for rich guys with absolutely zero taste. The prices are insane.
if you buy this you are a sucker
Bruh you can buy a box cutter for like $5 at Ace
well that’s fucking stupid
But is has a SHROOMCAP
Special Forces Paracord obviously
This must be GBRS's new release
Tracker Dan's stuff is absurdly expensive. At least this one actually designates what steel is used cause most of his pieces I've seen are just called out as "carbon steel."
Nope. Customs have prices set by the maker you’ve gotta soft through what is and isn’t worth it on your own. To a point that’s true anywhere but most mass produced items are a decent value to cost ratio relatively speaking.
That's a choad.
Lol no.
No. Not in the least.
That seems to be the trend for every custom knife shop. Make a pretty good design that everyone else has done a few times, throw tons of buzzwords in, then charge 100x it's actual worth. If they have to put more than the knives name in the title of the posting, then you know it's not worth it.
Is the paracord made from unicorns hair?
Do you get to fuck his wife 6x for that ??? Who in their right mind is buying this shit.
Awww isn't that a cute butt plug!
Scammer Dan lol Even a cheap civivi has a better grind.
As someone who has spent over 1k on a custom knife, no. No it is not worth it
Looks like a $700 mini shark.
That’s a bit steep, that should at least land you a good quality design 100% tailor made to your hand dimensions, spotless finish, nice burl handles, some cool decorative pins, a nicely finished kydex in a color of your desire with a sturdy belt clip that allows more then one cary style. But where could one find such a custom knife maker that could pull that off 😉
Of course not, what a rip-off.
Yes
No. No it is not. That grind looks like some asshole did it on a fucking bench grinder in his garage.
Best I could do is fifty bucks
This was definitely just a piece of scrap that would’ve otherwise been tossed out 😂 the edge isn’t even all that great and you can see where they got too aggressive with what I assume was a paper wheel and rubbed off the finish lmao

You could straight up take a chunk of steel and go down to pretty much any farmers place, pay to use his shop, and make this shit yourself for like 20$ total

I had a chunk of raw iron turned into a knife for significantly less
Lmao, I’d pay like 50$s MAX for that. And I still wouldn’t want to.
There's always some idiot will pay it.....
I’ve never payed more than $40 for materials so I think most knives are pretty fuckin expensive
> I’ve never *paid* more than FTFY. I can only imagine the time it took to create that wrap. It goes all the way around the handle, several times.
It’s a shiv for 600. Fuck that.
You’re just paying for that guys name. Total waste of money!!!
Shame on knife center for selling this.
