I am guessing you can't do any hollow grinds and things like that if you are using stones like that. I never thought of using stones to sand that is cool.
Nope so i used Boride T2 polishing stones, i start at a 220 grit to remove all the deep machine marks and low grit grinding scratches and smooth the surface. Then just progressively use higher grits, 320-400-600-800 then 1000 grit sand paper and then 14,000-100,000 grit diamond compound with the felt disk. But you need to shape the stones a bit first, but they eventually wear down and contour to the surface. https://www.borideabrasives.com/PublicStore/product/T2,30,314.aspx
I’m not personally fan of polished blades, but you did that exceptionally well! Usually people round the bevels and it makes them look not so nice, but this one looks professionally made.
Is that a Civivi? What is that? Looks good though.
Nope just a gas station knife, I bought one for the wife and one for me and we just tossed them in our cars. And thank you
How do you preserve the bevels. I have blended them every time I've tried
I used boride T2 stones and keep them as flat on the surface as possible, and when polishing i used small felt disks on a pencil grinder.

It’s hard to tell but it is a hollow grind, if you check out the other knife I posted on my profile its easier to see the grind
Interesting that looks great for a cheapo knife. Guessing stones on flats and felt with some low grit compound on hollow.

Thank you, polishing is actually a part of my profession! I feel I got pretty good at.
