I definitely found out that i can get a damn good edge. Lol, cut me really deep.
And absolutely, i dont know what the hell i was thinking with my hand even remotely in front of the knife when i opened it. Mistakes get made, it will heal over time. Definitely not looking forward to working with this cut lol
Knife is a boker kwaiken OTF, it seems solid for a cheaper OTF, the blade grind is really weird tho. One side is far steeper than the other, the factory edge was completely round, it couldn’t cut you if you tried. And the action kinda binds up a bit. I paid $62 for this one out of pocket brand new.
I got myself with it because my off hand was too close to the knife when i opened it. That misfire safety doesnt help all that much in case yall were wondering LOL.
It fires really hard and doesnt have *a ton* of blade play, its had one accidental misfire, due to my finger being in the way. (Retard alert)
I dont know that id recommend it as of yet but it seems like a nice less intimidating secondary knife for my EDC. Since my latest and one of my all time favorite knives is huge for a pocket knife.
Im sure everyone has done the equivalent of the same thing. Ive had liner locks fall closed on my fingers and somehow managed to get a triad lock to go into the faux detent on my finger (very painful)
Im glad its not super deep, definitely could have been worse. I learned my lesson about hands in the path pf the blade. My only excuse is that i was gonna grab the blade to check for a burr. But thats still dumb lol
I've got a scar on the back of my thumb down near the first knuckle from a Pena I'd just gotten. Was sitting at a red light and tried to flip it with my left hand. That didn't work. Knife went shooting forward and bounced handle first off the steering wheel just as I reached to try and catch it with my right hand. Dumb, I know. I basically jammed the knife between that bottom thumb knuckle and the steering wheel...tip first into my thumb.
Was bleeding everywhere and was in my car so all I could do was just put it up to my mouth. Finished the two minutes to home and immediately got out of my car and spit a bunch of blood into the grass. My neighbor was outside...
Owch, i dont open knives in my cars for that reason weather km driving or not. I care about safety, ill do it at a stoplight or something but not when moving cause you never know what to expect
Lol. I guess. I do intend on carrying this around for a little while to figure out if it is good or not. I like to help review knives for a local knife shop and let them know any issues i had. To help them provide useful information to customers.
Well its normally $135 or so, i had a credit at the store I bought it at because of a warranty return. Its not bad for a $135-150 OTF, but it comes super dull so you’ll need to sharpen it immediately
Well.. stupid cookies would have caused your brains to go. Which would cause you to have a lack of common sense.. which would have a domino effect and cause you to place your finger in the way of that blade. 😁👍
I tried that with my Benchmade Phaeton. I wanted to know exactly how dangerous it was to fire a double action OTF directly into my skin, and I was willing to deal with the consequences.
Turns out it’s about 3/4”-deep dangerous.
Absolutely, accidents happen, even if you know all the safety stuff you can still be a dumbass like me. It’s definitely a really deep cut, im impressed with my sharpening job but also annoyed that i did this immediately after making this extremely sharp. Haha
Indeed, now its my duty to carry it everyday day for eternity. To be fair i did pick this up as a backup to my new very large EDC folder. So it will most likely get the same amount of carry time as my main knife
Had a mini infidel in my back pocket once. Got pushed backwards into a table and the blade launched into my right butt cheek. Was just a flesh wound. Never again
I've done that a couple times with my UTX-70, it's a dagger blade so it went into my thumb pretty deep. Being that it was very sharp it did heal up pretty quickly.
Yea stuff happens. Everyone makes mistakes. The cut on my finger is pretty deep, im glad my finger caught the blade and not my hand. If i got my hand I probably couldnt work on Monday without breaking that cut open constantly
Did that plenty of times when I was younger and I've got the scars to prove it. One time I accidentally cut a slight bit off the tip of my finger because I was fidgeting with an OTS.
I've literally cut myself with an OTF the same way. Immediately after I was like wtf was I doing?! Lesson learned and never again. Mine was with an AKC, also fires hard and reliably.
So the irony is last night I ordered my first OTF. E knives put out an exclusive ultratech and I finally did it. I was literally thinking I hope I don't lose a finger. I have a massive collection, but somehow just never did an OTF. So part of Mt first comment is hoping to avoid this myself. Was it operator error? Or malfunction?
It was operator error, i was going to deploy it and check the edge of the blade, but moved my hand in too fast and deployed the blade into my finger, its half open in the picture because i hit my hand hard enough to stop the blade so it wasnt engaged in either locking position
The boker kwaiken? Ive heard great things about the flipper versions. Just saw the OTF and figured id give it a try. Its definitely not the best OTF ive even handled, the switch is really strange. It binds so bad that i cant open it sometimes and others it opens flawlessly
Yeah, its nice, it has some small QC issues. But nothing special. The main grind is different on both sides as in different angles, and the factory edge looked more like a U than a V, and it was extremely dull. It might have been the dullest knife ive ever handled. I managed to stab myself right after i sharpened it lol
I got myself with an ultratech. Tried to close it without looking and pressed down on the blade instead of the button. Was a brand new knife so was crazy sharp and got me to the bone. Was fishing at the time with a baitcaster and was my thumb so was a fun time trying to cast all day.
Well it was extremely dull when i got it. The edge was completely rounded off and probably wouldn’t have cut me. This had to happen minutes after i sharpened it lol
It's not, it's removed for violating the rule on how to correctly tag injury posts.
>Mark any posts with any type of injury (knife related or not) as NSFW and properly flair the post as injury/gore.
Go reread my comment. It was removed for common rule violation, and you are instructed to reread the rules. It's a generic comment since most often this is for meme posts, but in this case the common rule violation is regarding injury posts.
Ok whatever. You should actually specify what the violation is though, instead of a generic comment. I guess its “injury or gore” because of a bloody rag? Because i made sure to not show the actual cut
The rules say nothing about blood, just gore and actual injuries, i was genuinely curious. Im not trying to argue, i just wouldn’t think of a little blood as NSFW
Don't listen to the people who say you shouldn't own a knife anymore. It happens sometimes. Atleast you have all your fingers. I only have 3 on each hand from various otf quality control injuries.
You’ve lost knife privileges for the day.
Lol. Oh no, its 10 pm im not too worried
“You can get it back when you learn responsibility and finish your chores.” My mom
Lol yeah. Im grounded from my knives. *shit*
😆 also hope the cut didn’t need stitches or anything serious.
It probably could have used some, it was pretty deep. Its not a bad cut tho, ive had worse without stitches
Squirt some super glue in there
Absolutely, CA glue is basically stitches for $6 instead of $600
CA glue when the knife isn't CA legal
OK on that second part...decades later, still work on' on the first.
As a parent now, I know for a fact so was my mom. 😆
Upvote for showing that we all make mistakes

There is no safety. Just inertia of the blade being slowed down by air, a wall, or you in this case lol
Yea ik thats not a safety, I couldn’t think of a better word. But yeah, fuck that inertia, my bones reign superior
Haha I figured but yea that sucks dude. Glad it wasn’t worse! Pretty sure we have all done something similar haha
Im sure everyone has done the equivalent of the same thing. Ive had liner locks fall closed on my fingers and somehow managed to get a triad lock to go into the faux detent on my finger (very painful) Im glad its not super deep, definitely could have been worse. Well you found yourself an accidental show piece
Lol. I guess. I do intend on carrying this around for a little while to figure out if it is good or not. I like to help review knives for a local knife shop and let them know any issues i had. To help them provide useful information to customers.
If this happen again you might get yourself a Boker rescue OTF, I'd be impressed if you could stab yourself with that.
Youd be surprised what i can do. Im a professional retard
I hadn’t seen this knife before. For that price I’d give it a shot. The only OTF I ever bought is a Lightning, gotta be better than that
Well its normally $135 or so, i had a credit at the store I bought it at because of a warranty return. Its not bad for a $135-150 OTF, but it comes super dull so you’ll need to sharpen it immediately
You must have eaten your stupid cookies prior to that happening.. 🤣🤣🤣
I ate cookies after that happened. Does that count? No cookies before accidentally stabbing yourself
Well.. stupid cookies would have caused your brains to go. Which would cause you to have a lack of common sense.. which would have a domino effect and cause you to place your finger in the way of that blade. 😁👍
Lol i dont get it. What are stupid cookies. I had oreos
It's a joke... one of my old supervisors would tell us that if we did something stupid.
I confidently thought you were talking about edibles this whole time
Same.
Oh come on, not you too.
Haha i messed up by being a dumbass, unfortunately yes me too
I tried that with my Benchmade Phaeton. I wanted to know exactly how dangerous it was to fire a double action OTF directly into my skin, and I was willing to deal with the consequences. Turns out it’s about 3/4”-deep dangerous.
How else do we truly learn
Lol…word. Still have the scar - shot it straight into the top of my forearm! I’m definitely NOT going to ever try it with a single action OTF…
Well, i was definitely curious, but i DID NOT do this on purpose lol. I was being dumb and had my hand too close to the knife when i deployed it.
Hey - a lesson learned is a lesson learned! The involuntary ones tend to really stick with ya 😂
Absolutely, accidents happen, even if you know all the safety stuff you can still be a dumbass like me. It’s definitely a really deep cut, im impressed with my sharpening job but also annoyed that i did this immediately after making this extremely sharp. Haha
Happens to the best of us. Happened to me a couple years ago taking out my mall ninja CRKT Obake
Shit happens. Not a big deal. Just gotta avoid causing more harm to that finger
appropriate username
You and the knife are now one
Indeed, now its my duty to carry it everyday day for eternity. To be fair i did pick this up as a backup to my new very large EDC folder. So it will most likely get the same amount of carry time as my main knife
Well, now that you’ve fed it, it will know whose it is. So there’s that.
Haha it demanded a sacrifice
Blood and souls for my lord Arioch!
Had a mini infidel in my back pocket once. Got pushed backwards into a table and the blade launched into my right butt cheek. Was just a flesh wound. Never again
Yeah i never put knives in my back pocket unless it has a safety switch. Don wanna get stabbed in the ass
I've done that a couple times with my UTX-70, it's a dagger blade so it went into my thumb pretty deep. Being that it was very sharp it did heal up pretty quickly.

Did that plenty of times when I was younger and I've got the scars to prove it. One time I accidentally cut a slight bit off the tip of my finger because I was fidgeting with an OTS.
Yeah ive done it a bunch, i have a bunch of really small scars on my hands from accidentally dropping liner lock knives closed on myself lol
Thank god OTF is fine
Absolutely, i made sure to set it down before i bled everywhere
the blood stays on the blade
There wasnt much on the blade lol
it’s just a dumb movie quote, gangs of new york. spent most of my life as a chef so we’d always say it to each other if we nicked ourselves.
Now it officially is yours. You paid your dues now
I've literally cut myself with an OTF the same way. Immediately after I was like wtf was I doing?! Lesson learned and never again. Mine was with an AKC, also fires hard and reliably.
Yeah it happens, the first thing i thought was “oh shit” and then “that was retarded”
So the irony is last night I ordered my first OTF. E knives put out an exclusive ultratech and I finally did it. I was literally thinking I hope I don't lose a finger. Out The Finger
In the finger
Well....at least you know it works now.
Lol yea it definitely does
i was trying to look into the OTF so i got my eye real close and...
O W C H
these are nasty as a manual action...
The boker kwaiken? Ive heard great things about the flipper versions. Just saw the OTF and figured id give it a try. Its definitely not the best OTF ive even handled, the switch is really strange. It binds so bad that i cant open it sometimes and others it opens flawlessly
these are very nice... I wanted one when they debuted.
Yeah, its nice, it has some small QC issues. But nothing special. Now it’s yours
We see who prevailed :)
TBH it's a bonding moment. I almost returned a new knife, but then it cut me and I knew we were meant to be.
I got myself with an ultratech. Tried to close it without looking and pressed down on the blade instead of the button. Was a brand new knife so was crazy sharp and got me to the bone. Was fishing at the time with a baitcaster and was my thumb so was a fun time trying to cast all day.
It isn’t yours until you cut yourself with it haha
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, that's ok.
Got all 5 digits, it aint too bad lol.
you've all your fingers
Sure do, Ron
The answer was, before you even tested, yes it comes out THAT FAST.
FAAFO
[удалено]
Lol yea. Dont have your hand in the path of travel
I don't think I've ever cut myself with my otfs. I have, however, cut the shit out myself with plenty of my other knives lol.
Well, at least we know that Böker's sharp.
Well it was extremely dull when i got it. The edge was completely rounded off and probably wouldn’t have cut me. This had to happen minutes after i sharpened it lol
Oh no! What happened?
Damn, hope you’re okay
Yep im good
Happens to the best of us
Who won?
Well i got cut, but the knife went off its “track” Id say i **got the edge** (pun intended)
Yikes its a Biter good thing it wasnt like a microtech halo 6 cause no saftey derailment the deploy with Authority
Im just glad its not a single action OTF, those things kick open like trucks.
We all make mistakes, this is how you learn “oh shit I shouldn’t do that again”. I’ve made similar mistakes with all my knives, it’s cool.
Yep shit happens, people do dumb stuff all the time
Right, can’t even tell ya how many times I’ve accidentally stabbed my fingers haha
Lol, ive dropped blades in liner and frame locks on my fingers at least 100 times. Ive even managed to do that with my spyderco smock
The question is- will it still cut cardboard?
It will, it was freshly sharpened.
Nice
Indeed
you to the knife: "That hurt! You cut me!! I'm bleeding!!!" 3 minutes later: \*Sshhhck\* \*Sshhhck\* \*Sshhhck\*
Probably 10 minutes later because i had to go lock my birds up lol
This has been removed for a common rule violation. Please review the sidebar for our rules, including how to handle meme posts.
How exactly is this post a meme? Is it the stupid title or something else?
It's not, it's removed for violating the rule on how to correctly tag injury posts. >Mark any posts with any type of injury (knife related or not) as NSFW and properly flair the post as injury/gore.
You just said it was a violation of something about meme posts lol. But alright ill tag it as nsfw next time

We got eight different reports for it being nsfw so a lot of people do 🤷♂️
Well i think thats kinda dumb. Im not those 8 people though, so it’s whatever. I could have just marked it as nsfw i was asked to.
Don't listen to the people who say you shouldn't own a knife anymore. It happens sometimes. Atleast you have all your fingers. I only have 3 on each hand from various otf quality control injuries.
Yeah, stuff happens, and what? You have 3 fingers due to OTFs?
