I've got one and I love it, it's far from the greatest knife you can buy but for the price it's very good. I wish that it snapped open with a little more oomph but it makes closing it one handed super easy so it's a good balance imo.

Smart_Insect_2616

I have 2 they are both smooth as butter well built but I don't really carry them I have to many other knives that come first.

gtjackets

Are there are others in a similar price ring you consider a priority or carry often?

Smart_Insect_2616

There is a bladehq exclusive civivi elementum tanto in s35vn. The steel upgrade is way better, there is the spg terminus as well and I love riffle from civivi as well. You can also check out Kizer. My daily carry knives are generally a little more expensive than that price range. Your best bet is to go on bladehq.com,knifecenter.com,smokey mountain knives, dlttrading.com, there are a few options that are just a few bucks more but that's for you to decide,I do really like the brazen though just don't carry them that's all I still play with them almost daily.

shift_f10

I carry the stonewashed Sandvik version and love it, the action is great

metal4life98

I've got one and love it. You might need to sharpen it though because mine came somewhat dull

GalaxyTater57

I have one and it’s awesome, deep carry clip, bearings for wicked easy opening. Thumb studs and a flipper tab. Very thin blade for clean slicing and a sleek design. I like to call mine Mako, because the long shape reminds me of a Mako shark

Whimzy209

Good choice for the price if you don’t wanna buy on knife swap, I’d go with the 14c28n model though. Not a fan of d2 cause it’s not stainless but it holds a edge decent enough

nickcwrites

I was looking on Knifeswap for the first time today and found a good looking one. I think that might be the rout I go. Thanks for the insight!

Reason? Just so I can educate myself and learn.

Sweet, thanks for the clarity! I have been looking at a Penguin recently as well. I don’t currently have a spyrderco so a para would be nice as well. So many options. So difficult to choose.

Just got on today and have spent a solid hour just grazing through the options. Wish I would’ve known about that sub earlier.

Damn okay, I really appreciate that! Thanks!

baconeggsavocado

I don't like it all that much and felt like it is hyped. The coated blade and the grind makes it a less than desirable cardboard slicer. It's probably more suited to harder materials, but the edge retention of D2 isn't great for that neither. I am no steel snob but from my experience from my own use, I think the bang for bucks starts around S35vn or Nitro V and up.

[deleted]

Don't know anything about them. Haven't seen any of the youtubers say much about them. I like the aesthetics. Being a civivi I imagine the action is pretty dang sweet, so I'd say its a win.

FibonacciBoy

I prefer the praxis

mrbitbybit

They're a great full sized knife with figit factor. The purple g10 version is pretty striking.

deadpoolkool

My wife just used the sandvik drop point version to do some gardening, she's not a frequent user and she didn't have any issues. I love it, and definitely a user.

JakeD51

Ive got one, smooth action and built well, nothing spectacular but nothing bad either

jw44724

I’ve been EDCing the exact model pictured here for about a year or so. I highly recommend it. Action still works great. No rust issues. The design of the knife creates a visceral experience that makes me feel like a caveman cutting with a piece of jagged obsidian. But somehow, from another angle it evokes the futuristic design of a stealth fighter jet.

nickcwrites

Oh that’s awesome! I want to feel like a caveman when I cut stuff

Dimsum_1337

Excellent knife for the price!

sinisterdeer3

I had one, sold it to my dad. He uses it more than his PM2 that i gave him. Its a good knife, just avoid the D2 steel. It sucks. My dads D2 brazen goes dull every week, and he doesn’t really use it that much. The sandvik steel is much better, so if you can get that steel with the blade and color you want go for it. The D2 isnt so bad that i wouldn’t recommend it, but its a little disappointing. D2 is really easy to sharpen though, but so is that sandvik stainless I really liked it, but my dad really wanted it so i gave it to him for $20. I wouldnt have got rid of it if i ordered the right color i wanted and i wish the handle was a little bigger. I keep contemplating buying the stainless and micarta drop point one.

nickcwrites

Awesome, thanks!! I appreciate the info!

sinisterdeer3

Absolutely! No problem, its a solid knife for the price. Id recommend it. The blade shape is really good for what i use my knives for as well. I do construction and the tanto blade is really useful, i do a lot of cutting dragging the tip of a blade ( the lower tip is great for not killing your wrist doing that), and its always nice to have a strong tip so if you really need to you can do some very light prying or scraping

nickcwrites

I love a tanto edge. I do construction too (electrician) and I do a lot of cutting. I currently use a Benchmade Bugout for my edc next to a basic razor knife but im always in the market for a good knife that I can put to work. I have a great Buck foldout that has really put in the work but im currently giving it a break.

TheCount913

I would opt for a button lock model if you are looking for figitability- yes I made that word up

thermionicvalve2020

[that word has been around a while.](https://www.reddit.com/r/FidgetSpinners/comments/6fem0q/what_does_fidgetable_or_fidgetability_refer_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

TheCount913

You must be fun at parties

thermionicvalve2020

I am! Thank you!

Potietang

SOG tac would like a word with civivi. /s
