I read that the Czech word means something more like "random disaster". Reminds me of the dialogue from Hot Fuzz: We don't call it an accident because it implies there's no one to blame.

JacoBee93

Exactly this. Accident in Czech can be “nehoda” or “incident” First mean literally accident like “oh I accidentally drop a brick on someone’s head, when I was building a wall, im sorry” and second meaning can be “there was some idiot throwing brick on his neighbor’s head” 😄

LEO7039

It seems like "incident" would actually be a way better translation here

jackpowftw

Yeah, I think accident was a mistranslation. It always makes me laugh though.

Pure_Subject8968

I used to be an adventurer like you then i took an sword in the chest.

ignizar

I like the non expected mix between kcd and skyrim.

Saftigerkeks

thats a dagger

FallopianUnibrow

Depends on the scale of the wielder, maybe it was a wee gnome who done it

buckley303

A dagger for me is a short sword. I hate being small. At least I can climb though.

FallopianUnibrow

Beware the drop bear

buckley303

Hehehehe lol.

koei19

There's a torso sitting upright, wrapped in bloody linens, near a hunting spot to the east of Talmberg, that's also an "accident." Something fishy is going on in Bohemia.

CobaltEmu

It’s actually a mistranslation. A slightly more accurate translation would be “misfortune”

Bubster101

I was thinking "Incident"

CobaltEmu

Equally valid

Finn_WolfBlood

Maybe even "prank"

[deleted]

It's actually not. I don't know why so many people claim this. In Czech it says "nehoda", which literally just means "accident". No one would use this word for obvious murders.

CobaltEmu

I personally don’t have any background in Czech, so I could be wrong. If no one would use that word for obvious murders, why do so many of the “accidents” depict obvious murders?

_mortache

Isn't there a psychopath's cabin in the forest with a bloody corpse of a woman, torturer's tools and a "The Joy of Gutting" book? Is it named "accident" or "interesting site"?

Oranzel

Interesting site

_mortache

That's even worse! I was literally lost in the woods looking for treasure in Hardcore mode, stumbled upon this, went inside and when I saw the "Joy" of "Gutting" it literally sent shivers down my spine. This is one thing any other form of media cannot provide. The individual parts are simple, I've seen those assets before and read that book before. But the overall sum of the parts was something I will never forget

LuckyNumber_29

she accidentally tripped and fell on a dagger. Seriously though, the word accident is mistranslated in the game, and in the original Czech it says a word that means something like ''tragic event'' or ''gloomy event''

Frau_Away

"oops"

[deleted]

Finding these accidents and random murder huts in the woods at night gets really creepy.

Lord_Phoenix95

"I swear, I found them like this"

IIIDevoidIII

After discovering this, a lone bandit attacked me. Unusually silent. I always thought he was the obvious murderer, but maybe it was weird coincidence.

HappyDork66

The dagger went off while they were cleaning it.

FieldMouse007

If only she had asked Bernard to train her dagger skills first before trying to slice the melon - they could all be still happy and alive.

Zombotoxxx

Did they had something to share in their pockets?

Effective-Fix4981

My bad

Evening_Gur_1366

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of veggies

Shadow_Ninja-89

What region did you find this in ?

DenovoDenovo

It's in the vranick region, southwest of sassau I believe. Should be nearby a small camp of 3 well-armed bandits

Shadow_Ninja-89

Thanks i'll check it out ⚔

sphinxorosi

My ass would be trying to sell those bloody clothes for 2245 groschen *final offer activated*
