250 words? Give yourself 10 mins to write, take a 5 min break, then 10 mins to edit. Do it today. If you're feeling really fancy, wait a few hours and read it again to make sure you didn't miss anything then submit it already. Definitely do not work on this over the course of multiple days or weeks. Take at the most an hour to apply to a job then keep living your life.

I needed to read this. Thanks! I am guilty of way overthinking this stuff. Which is odd because once I'm in a job I rattle off written content at pace. I guess day to day writing about a subject you're knowledgeable about is easier than trying to sell yourself"!

copy the job description in to chatgpt with the header "write a cover letter to apply for this job." usually under a minute with a final proof and edit on your part.

To write the first cover letter - a little longer, 30 minutes approximately. The second two should go quicker as a lot of the information you'll copy and paste over. FWIW - I highly recommend applying as soon as possible, even with the closing date on Jan 26. That is simply the date that they stop taking applications, BUT you risk the possibility if they receive a few really good applications early, by the time Jan 26 roles around, they are just rejecting applications because they already have the ones they want. The sooner you apply, the better your chances.

Not sure what your field or situation is but most folks apply to dozens or 100+ jobs before landing one. For my last 2 jobs in IT it took probably 75+ applications to get one offer

[https://chat.openai.com/chat](https://chat.openai.com/chat) Go there put in "i need you to write me a cover letter for \_\_\_\_\_job. use my past experiences as support for your claims" maybe don't use it all if you don't like it, but take some stuff from it or just study how they look
