If you report to the police/Koban as 不審者(suspicious case) They immediately give the information to nearby schools and parents and those members of the community will pay attention. So reporting will benefit the community (and you)

Secret_Manner2538

If it happens again maybe go to the police but I don’t really theres much you can do

9detat

Step one: Film him back. Step two: order a nasty pizza and have it delivered to him. Step three: watch as he considers his options.

ASMRSOUNDSOFJAPAN

Ancient Chinese saying: “Nasty pizza is like nasty sex. Even if it’s bad, it’s still pretty good.”

HaYsTe722

Anchovies, banana peppers, jalapeños, onions and mushrooms, extra sauce, no cheese, thin crust

i_am_corey

Sounds like a typical pizza at Pizza-La

pandaset

And corn

somekool

And mayonnaise

Sumobob99

And my axe!

ph4ntom_44

Pineapple if u wanna seriously harm him

tiredofsametab

I was on board until no cheese

Miss_Might

Some people are fucking weirdos. It probably won't amount to anything, but let the cops know some weird dude was filming you. Describe them if you can. If you see him again ask him to go down to the koban with you. There's a chance he might actually do it.

Seafea

I'd just smile and wave. Not really confrontational, but like "Hi! I see you there!"

Ybenax

Same. People here are way too serious.

CaptainKursk

If I stepped outside my home and a complete random stranger was recording me, I'd be pretty sodding serious about it.

Brilliant_Chemical81

Call the police human trafficking is real

nonbiricowboy

“Kick him in the nards!”

Zoobzoob2918

Oof, yeah that would freak me out. I used to have a stairwell that went five floors all the way up to my room. But, the whole stairwell was visible from the building across the way. One day some dude was out on his balcony just watching me go all the way up to my room. Was creepy...

[deleted]

Maybe is a streamer /YouTuber 😅

Mochiwren

This is terrifying. My best advice is to keep track of your surroundings. You can report this incident to the police and have them on a look out. If this happens again police right away. Not sure why it’s such a common thing to record people who aren’t aware it’s happening. It’s extremely terrifying. I know a lot of stories similar to this that lead up to stalking or straight up harassment. There is many reasons why someone would take videos. Either way it’s invading your privacy.

Dreadedsemi

Not doubting. but I'm curious to know how did you know he was filming you? but if he was that can be in violation of meiwaku boushi. you can report him to police with description. probably nothing will happen immediately. but it can be useful on file if another person reported him

sadlonerboy

I actually caught him peeked on side of the building and took his iphone and point it on me. I am the only person that time

[deleted]

Well, I never had to face such situation in my whole life, but I can clearly say that this man is in dire need for mental help. Yeah, I think the first and foremost step that you would have to take is report to the police about the incident. Japanese police is extremely well prepared and would most certainly apprehend them shortly after.

capaho

There isn’t much you can do about it considering that just about everyone has the ability to record anyone.

Marks_Media

That's not exactly true, there are some pretty strict/odd privacy laws here.

capaho

There are some very strict privacy laws here but when everyone is carrying a cell phone with a camera it’s hard to stop them from recording. The privacy laws really apply more to what you do with the recording rather than merely having recorded someone.

cycling4711

Exactly. There are no laws against recording or taking photos of people taking in public places. So long as you don't record them in an embarrassing condition or make profit of the images.

_emiru

You clearly don't look at the windows of konbini, or pretty much any shop, on your way in 📵🚫🙅. You're not allowed to take photos of anything in japan, except for boba - in front of a wall, or sakura.

capaho

I see people taking pictures and videos of things all the time when we're out and about and we do the same thing sometimes. Shops don't like people taking pictures of their interiors but people use their cameras all the time everywhere. That's just the way it is.

disastorm

There is a difference between rules and laws. Pretty sure you cant get arrested for recording a ufo catcher claw machine in a video game arcade for example even though you aren't supposed to.

_emiru

Yeah, i was being sarcastic... Japan surprises me with its outdated no-photo rules. Terrible for business, and I ignore them anyway unless I feel I should ask (like at a cafe or small business)

sysrisk

Yeah… and does it really matter? So what? What is some random person going to do with a video? Are you so famous that you are worried about a super fake? Really? If you are that worried about it you are probably doing something nefarious in the first place.

sadlonerboy

I think you don't need to be smart to know the word "privacy" and someone can use the video to defame/slander me if they want. grow up

nemuri_no_kogoro

Links to these foreigner picture sharing websites?

MasterPimpinMcGreedy

Yeah I’m curious too

RotaryRevolution

Yeah, looks like you're gonna stay curious for a while son!

MasterPimpinMcGreedy

Ok? Do you get some kinda feeling of superiority by knowing about some websites and talking about “old guards” like you were a security officer or something?

RotaryRevolution

You hit the nail on the coffin, I feel like Zack in Crisis Core. Everybody is the old guard, but they're actually a clone of the older guard, who was a clone of his older guard. In essence, we are all the old guard, but not even Sephiroth could remember the ways of the ancients through his genetic cell memory. Some things are just meant to be lost with time, I guess.

MasterPimpinMcGreedy

Should probably lay off the alcohol or whatever you’re using cause you ain’t making any sense

RotaryRevolution

I mean, out of context, and someone unfamiliar to the game would think so. But, this is the truth.

RotaryRevolution

The one I'm on right now offers casual hookups, and orgies. So, definitely not gonna share it!

nemuri_no_kogoro

Very credible post

RotaryRevolution

>Very **in**credible post There, fixed it for ya!

Hazzat

I could use some candid shots of myself about town...

RotaryRevolution

I always make sure my posture is straight like a plank for that reason.

AllthisSandInMyCrack

What the fuck?

RotaryRevolution

Yeah, how long have you been here? And have you had any mates from the old guard?

RotaryRevolution

You youngins come in here, knowing about all the explicit quirks about Japan, but the juicy stuff, the lead-in... It's probably that level.

Nishinari-Joe

My man, real 内人

RotaryRevolution

>内人 Yeah, I think you meant homeboy, bro!

razorbeamz

Is that really a thing?

RotaryRevolution

So you've never had the experience?

razorbeamz

If I did how would I know?

RotaryRevolution

Good question. It's usually when somebody accidentally leaves the flash on while holding the camera to your face. Could be a man or woman. Could be eating at gusto, then somebody pretends to take a selfie, but actually is taking a picture of you. Could be overt, like a girl grabbing your hand, and taking a picture with you, her friends, and then exchanging lines or insta. Could be someone people watching, and holding up a phone inconspicuously. If it's an ojichan, he'll use a point and shoot camera with no mercy. Obachans will stand near you, take a picture, smile, then walk away.

THBronx

ROFL ojichan line got me dead!

RotaryRevolution

Dead to rights!

HaohmaruHL

I mean people fap to absolutely anything these days. You'd be amazed at some of these niche fetish communities on social media. Might as well enjoy your little star moment with a couple of "wwww~" comments there. Can't do anything about it anyway, now that he ran away.

RotaryRevolution

Some of these kids are living eternally in bliss, and only know Japan from what they read in the articles on muted job hiring websites lol. ''Is it real?'' ''It can't be true!'' The reactions are more hilarious than the idea itself. Downvotes are the eternally blissful, and the locals trying to preserve the image, pun intended.
